🔴Intended use
Test for determination of antibodies against Streptolysin “O” by Immuno Agglutination method.
Introduction:
Streptolysin “O” is a toxic immunogenic exoenzyme produced by haemolytic Streptococci of groups A, C and G. Measuring the ASO antibodies are useful for the diagnostic of rheumatoid fever, acute glomerulonephritis and streptococcal infection. Rheumatic fever is an inflammatory disease affecting connective tissue from several parts of human body as skin, heart, joints etc. and acute glomerulonephritis is a renal infection that affects mainly to renal glomerulus.
Principle:
The ASO-Latex is a slide agglutination test for the qualitative and semi-quantitative detection of anti-steptolysin “O” (ASO) antibodies. Latex particles coated with steptolysin “O” are agglutinated when mixed with samples containing ASO.

If ASO is negative, will the result be directly 200 Iu/ml? Negative results don't need to be diluted, right?

Great doctor
My practical book says if agglutination occurs test is negative and if agglutination doesn’t occur test is positive[ reason stated is that if there are antigen in sample the latex particles coated with antigen will react with antibodies and no agglutination of antibodies occur , while as if there are no antigens the antibodies will clump with each other ] . If there is anybody who got my point please reply to this thanks.

Positive negative control se kya lena dena tha jab uske patient sample nie dale ?
Sir positive and negative control 2 reasons ki wajah se use karte he: 1. Check karne ke liye ki kit properly kaam kar rahi hai ya nahi. 2. Check karne k liye ki humne procedure properly follow kiya hai ya nahi.
