Hey guys, we just wanted to say a long-overdue thanks for posting this video! Just a note on the beds - we had a bad experience with the foam we used for the beds/seats in the 2016 models that you unfortunately had. So your thoughts on that were both accurate and fair. But we've fixed that now and our 2017-2020 models have very different beds with a more comfortable mattress. We try to see what we can improve each year and it's a learning process and it really helps when we get good feedback from people like you! Love your channel and hope to see you in Iceland again.
Thank you! This (and your entire Iceland series) has been incredibly helpful in our trip planning (we went with Cozy Campers, going late October). Of the millions of Iceland travel videos on YT, you were our favorite, most engaging, and knowledgeable host(s). Thanks again.
We rented a van for 4 days. We selected the premium insurance coverage for €45 per day, which was having a cap for any incident of €600 and it was supposed to cover windshield, etc… (my mistake: I thought that coverage was also for other damages as lamps, etc…). Staff at happy campers was professional and helpful. Unfortunately, on the trip, one night, getting out of a parking lot, as there were not street lights, I hit back a stone, damaging a little bit the bumper and 1 tail light. I informed about it when returning the van. The staff confirmed that the only damaged parts were the plastic bumper and the tail light. The staff instructed that how happy campers works is, it charged the full €600, sends the van to repair, and in 1 or 2 weeks, when the van is back from repair (only the bumper and the tail light repair/replacement), happy campers returns the difference eg: if the repair cost is €350, they return €250. When I came back to UK, I checked the cost of both spare parts was max €135. But anyway, being Iceland more expensive + labour, etc… I assumed that it will be more expensive, but still some money would be left to return. 3 weeks passed with no news, I wrote happy campers. After 2 days they replied that they will come back to me. After another 2 weeks (5 weeks) I wrote again. After 3 days, they sent me an invoice (no signed, no stamped, no plate No), indicating that the total cost cos c.€700. No more explanation. I checked the invoice and translated the 4 items listed for repair. And I realized that most of the cost c.€500 was for 2 items painting and paint. As confirmed by the staff member who checked the van, there was not any damage in the paint of the van. To replace a tail light and a plastic bumper, you do not need to paint. I complained to Happy campers but no reply at all. Very unhappy with the after-service. We selected happy campers (which is more expensive than other options) and a more expensive van, a premium insurance, etc… to avoid this kind of troubles. I will be putting a claim in the Iceland consumers office and check which other actions I could take. But anyway, very disappointed with happy campers.
Hi Eduardo. We usually try to respond to all reviews immediately but since you posted this one in so many places, I'm afraid that we missed it here. I hope you saw our reply on the other platforms so I won't get into the specifics here, except to say again that we're sorry about your experience and poor communications on our part. That offer of reaching out to me personally still stands as I mentioned in the original reply.
Very helpful, I will be driving the same camper in a few weeks. I may have missed the part about the pillows that come with the van. Are they comfortable?
My gf and I are going in early May, looks around the same time you were there! How tall are you both? We're looking at the Happy 1 as well, but I'm 6'3 tall :) Any tips?
Yes, we were there in the middle of May! Great time to go!! I'm 5'7" and the hubbie is 5'10". We were pretty cramped so at 6'3" I'd recommend looking at the next size up for more comfort. My feet almost touched the door :/
We ended up putting our large suitcase behind the driver's seat and just moving it around as needed. Two full size suitcases are going to be a tough fit. If you don’t rent the chairs, you can probably fit a carry on under the bed seats.
I'll LOVE these "Happy Campers": They're do colorfull and chearfull they make me smile. ☺ ...only thing is I would like the option of a camping toilet...if I were 2 BUY 1, I would add it, but as it's a rental, I wouldn't want 2 use 1 that a gaziglion other people had used! 😉😉
Hello! How long did you rent the camper for? I plan on visiting Iceland in September and just found out about these campers. Is 10 days enough to drive all the way around the Ring Road?

Thanks for addressing that. We are coming in July and have rented a Happy 1. I was concerned about the bed! Glad it’s been fixed!

Also, how did you manage bathroom breaks?
This is a very informative video. Thank you so much. Very helpful for our planning
Thanks for the review. Heading there in September and looks like a good option.
Funny and informative 😎😋

They were decent! The worst part was the bar in my back on the bed :/
Very good video. Thank you
Hola, podriais hacer los videos con traduccion al espeñol, un saludo
Do you have to book the campgrounds ahead of time or can you arrive the day-of? does happy camper help with that?
which happycamper was this? Happy2?
Did you buy your blouse 2B color coordinated with the camper? 😁
Does the bed storage fit a carry-on suitcase? I know you said it won't fit a full-size
would you guys ever live full time in a van and do the whole "van life" thing?
how much is the rent for the campsite?

Awesome! Booking the Happy 2 :) Loving all your videos, they're awesome!
Hey Chris, how was your trip?
So where did you eventually leave your suitcase? I am renting the same one next week and wondering if 2 suitcases and a cabin bag will fit at all ?

@@TheGoneGurl thanks for answering, that´s what i thought i´be doing as well : -)
May I ask: is your large suitcase check in 50 lbs suitcase ? Thank you!
@@TrangNguyen-ek6jv Yep!
Oh, I didn't know this is a rental. I came here thinking she built this. ! :)

£3
how long were yall in iceland altogether?
I like it, guys where i can get same kind of this bed?
Looks Super uncomfortable :@
Iceland is great but these little camper vans result in the cheap tourists that rent them shitting wherever they stop.
just live without wifi for a little while. Trust me it can be done 😊
