So close for Felix. Only 16 years. He is awesome
OMG🤩🤩🤩 What a match between the currently best penholders in Europe 👍👍👍
Not only in Europe but in the world
Like the only penholders in Europe 😂
Well played, dang!
Also good effort from Felix, a joy to watch these two play.
Happy to watch two «european penholders» (F. Lebrun has a bright future ahead of him) but both have, following Wang Hao, an extremely balanced style of play that largely echoes shakehand players... On a personal basis, I am truly missing the creativeness and «craziness» of the very unbalanced style of play of the magical cloudwalker Xu Xin...
Well they aint Lefties.
I agree Xu Xin was a treat. But I would argue Felix is not so balanced. He is much more consistent and threatening with his backhand shot than his forehand. I think the innovation of these European penholders is how good their backhand is, although Qiu is definitely equally good on both wings
Ah, I was rooting for Felix. He is a such fearless player, just missed to finish the comeback.
Two of the best penholders in the World and they both from Europe.
Strange World we live in 😂
Fun fact: Lebrun won 6 points more in total
Wdym?
@@ireapz8212 count all points in each set, and Felix won more balls overall.
doesnt matter...dang already gave up on some sets or went too risky when strongly behind and easily gave away pts...you could also play until someone hits 33 pts first but thats not how you play it
@@ireapz8212 the sets won by Lebrun were with huge point gaps, while the sets he lost were extremely close
Such an exciting game. Happy for Qui Dang and I am sure the time for Felix will come aswell. He is fantastic :)
Amazing match !!! Can't wait for Félix's futur 🔥🏓
Felix is awesome.
He plays pen grip but sometimes goes very shakehand style with the way he moves and hits.
Very occasionally he even swaps to actually playing shakehand.
Him and his brother are both really innovative, it's great to see!
Such an exciting game! Gratulation to Dan, well done!
Great played with both of them 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😢😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤Amazing I love that
Amazing match
Too bad they already had to meet in R16
Felix's backhand is powerful.
That is fantastic game of two penholders. Unbelievable!
Congrats to both of them : Dang Qiu for winning while he got overwhelmed for long minutes after a dominant start and not freaking out in the ultimate set and Felix Lebrun for keeping his composure against the European champion and making it to the 5th set while being down 0-2...
It was very close and the more mature player won but I reckon Felix Lebrun will have other opportunities to "set this straight" 🙂
We should be thankful to have a nice set of European youngsters (I think Dang Qiu at 26 y.o is still young in table tennis) with the Moregardh and Lebrun's brothers that can compete at the highest level already and replace the Ovtcharov and co haha
beau duel ! 😀
Cheers to all penholder players!
When was the last time this happened in a match between two European penholders?
Maybe Félix will be better than Alexis in near future. Maybe he's already better. Bravo Qiu Dang !
For me he is already better than his bro 🏓
Both are amazing to watch
@@andybbx9806 I don't think he is better yet, but it is probably very close. Alexis was not at 100% of his potential in this Singapore smash since it was his first tournaments after months of not playing due to a big knee injury, yet he was very close to beat Quadri Aruna (lost 3-2) who is doing a magnificent tournament and who humiliated Harimoto 3-0
@@bobbob22146 yeah yeah I know about his injury. I'm a french guy 😂 but yeah I understand your opinion bro 👌🏓
I already mentioned that Felix will improve and grow up stronger, i said he is not as strong as his brother yet, but he won't be behind much sooner or later, and both can really dominate Europe for years coming, the only threat to them are Truls and Dang and maybe sometimes Jorgic, they are still so young so they have all the time, and i feel that in future Olympics they might do something too, and i want to see them in teams championships, they also can be great team as they are brothers and know each other well to help, same as Harimoto team.
Very even match. Either one of them is champion.
Bravo Felix
I would have love to see him face MA long again
Geez, dang was up 2-0 and it ended as tight as can be.
Felix is so close to the World top omg
Ça promet pour Paris 2024 🔥🇫🇷
Tu t'en sors bien Dang Qiu !
Best Penholders after Xuxin
Wow, it used to be ma lin and wan hao slugging it out
Aruna brak mi słów - twoja gra jest nieprawdopodobna💪👊👍🏓
Two penholders in the r16 and none is Chinese. Who would have guessed some years ago ☺
Could go either way
so many nets...
Some may argue that this is everything but relevant but A. Lebrun is already 186cm at barely 16 years old, that means he could still easily gain 5 cm to reach 191 cm at his adult height... Definitely, and by a wide margin, the tallest high-end penholder ever (former one was Xu Xin at 181cm) and I am wondering whether this may influence his style of play. The penhold style of play indeed requires fast footwork and, but some exceptions, mobility tends to decrease beyond 190cm...
Félix is not that tall 😂 He is 175-180cm
@@GgGg-yt6pv : My mistake but he's mentioned as being 185cm on Table Tennis Media. Plus have a look at the Lebrun brothers double match a couple of days ago against Luu / Lum. Felix is somewhat slender but at the very most 2 or 3 cm shorter than in older brother Alexis who is 188cm.
@@jpdrgvii6844 QIU Dang is 180cm. You can see at the end of this game when they shake hands, QIU is just a hair taller.
@@jpdrgvii6844 I think tour website provides bad information because Alexis is not 188cm but 180cm
on rodilsya v Germanii, durila
bad decision on 9-10 on the fifth by felix. He push a long back being scared that cost him the game.
Felix better player just didn’t had luck ..
haaaaaa zut !!! il a manqué rien
Penhold!
qiu is the best penholder now in the world.
Well actually it's very close between those 2. Felix has beaten Qiu Dang in the Team European Championships a few months ago, and this one was really close as well. They are probably around the same level at the moment, but Felix is 10 years younger and I am sure he will be the best penholder very soon👍 As a French ping pong fan I can't wait to see the Lebrun brothers in action in the 2024 Paris olympic games !
@@bobbob22146 hard to say, haramoto was much better than him when he was 16…
@@houstonhuaren9908 that's true, but Harimoto had such a level at 16 that it feels weird to see hd didn't make that much progress
@@bobbob22146 haramoto has reached his bottleneck. unless he could manage to break it he is done in hie career.
@@houstonhuaren9908 yeah seems like you're right
It is disgusting and disrespectful that Adam and Don cannot say Felix's surname correctly. Lebrun is pronounced "Lebruin" and NOT "Lebron" like the American basketball player.
