- In this video, I replace the cartridge in my WaterDrop WD-10UA under sink water filter, which provides great tasting water from my kitchen faucet. I compare the flow and taste to see if I waited too long to change the filter.

I have the same but with that small faucet. And the taste of my water with or without the filter it is huge. And i have a filtration system in the beginning of my water installation. 😊

I always go back and forth and research many different water filter systems. We have been using the 3i Filtrete under sink system which needs to be changed ever 6 months.

@@handydadtv True, Thank you. I may switch to the WaterDrop. I go in circles about water filters and how good of a job there doing at filtering out all of the metals and contaminates. I really should just to have ours tested.

How did you tell when the cartridge was needing to be replaced please? Is there a warning light or indicator?
No indicator. I just change it annually.

I didn't get one year out of mine. I only get 7 months before I started noticing it wasn't filtering and the water flow started decreasing drastically.
You must use a lot more water than me. Buy the bigger replacement cartridge.
That is a testament of your water quality. The filter is plugging up which means it is doing its job. I have a different system from this company under my sink. They make a couple three filter units. I have the version with the filters that look similar to this one (other model sits in steel canisters). My three filter model has a pre-filter that catches larger sediment, a granular carbon element to remove chemicals, and then a carbon block with KDF as a final filter. I ended up swapping out the last filter for a stand alone RF-10 ultra filtration filter (that is a stand alone model similar to what is in this video. The filter I used as a replacement is very similar in cost and components to the one I replaced except for the added benefit of finer filtration. These systems all use the same style connectors, and it did not require any tweaks to change it out.. My water is really filtered with that set up (verified by test papers). I have insanely high water pressure of about 90 psi. I get about 1.3 gallons per minute out of my faucet even though that system is said to provide 1 gpm.
I also swapped the last filter out to keep me safe from a lot of toxins that are not even tested for in municipal water systems. Those include things like pharmaceuticals and microplastics. The finer the filter media the less of that stuff you drink. The pre-filter makes it so my system does not clog up insanely fast. I have about a year with my last filter which is rated for about 12-18 months. Ya, the filters on that set-up cost more, but you are what you consume. I want the water I consume and cook with to be the safest I can get. I also have smaller systems like that in my bathrooms for water I primarily use for brushing my teeth.
@@keithfillinger3182 EXACTLY what I was thinking.....it's doing it's job with some dirty water. Kind of like your car's air filter.....if you live in a dusty area, gravel road, etc, you're gonna replace that air filter more often....it's NOT the filter's fault. ;-)

Price is what brought me to this model. The initial kit is a little over $50, and the replacement filters are only $25. Go to handydad.tv/wdrp and find undersink, single stage filters.

Do you wash all your dishes with the filtered water or do you use a dishwasher? Considering that a filter is filtering all the water coming through the tap, I wonder how fast these filters last.
It only filters the cold water side. The dishwasher is connected to the hot water side.

somebody has tried the UF filter againts bacteria?
my septic and well and in bad shape so the water isnt normally safe to drink. i just bought a UF kit from waterdrop so hopefully it does the job and i dont die.
I only bought it for taste. If you are concerned about safety, you should definitely have your water tested periodically regardless of which filter you choose.

The old one looks like it was put in backwards. The logo was in the back. Is this okay?
It was rotated 180 degrees, but perfectly fine.
Any ideas on my problem here? I installed one of these and it worked great for a few months but then all of a sudden when I turn it on it makes a loud "duh duh duh" noise and the water shuts off. I have to use the regular faucet (i have a kitchen faucet that has a drinking water tap together, only the drinking water one is filtered) and jerk the water handle off to full flow real fast to get the water filter tap to flow again. How do I fix this?
I’d remove the filter and put the lines back to just the faucet connections to test the faucet. If it’s not the faucet, I’d contact the filter company to get a replacement.
my parents GE refrigerator filter hadn't been changed in 10 years. none of us dropped like fly's, water was fine but decided to change it. then i cut the old one, found mold. been drinking moldy water, tasted fine, reminded me of that song *love that dirty water* anyway there was a better tasting difference *i'll change filter in 10 years*

I bought a water drop 16000 gallon rated filter 5months ago and it's been great. But just the other day it really slowed down. I figure the 2 of us have used about 1000 gallons through it there is no way it should need replacing this soon
Sounds unusual. Maybe your town was flushing hydrants and a bunch of sediment clogged the filter? Try removing the cartridge.
Does it work for hot and cold?
Mine only filters cold.

No, this is an inexpensive filter that I bought purely to improve taste.
Mines lasted 6 months and flow rate is down to a dribble, called customer service and they now say they advise a pre filter! Not impressed at all.

Sorry too debunk your VIDEO, all you did, was change a filter one year plus later. You should have had a water testing kit there, to verify your finding. This is NOT a True Review of your system, you have too go further than that, to give a better account that the system is a good product to use. So I must turn down (your review) on this product. And seek more information that I was looking for. It is NOT in this VIDEO. Try Again. (BAD BAD REVIEW)

I agree.....your review is really, really bad, LOL. He didn't claim to be testing for anything other than taste and water flow. You may want to actually READ the video description before leaving silly reviews.

People, who where looking for a review of this product was looking for more information on this product, not just on taste and water flow, this video was put on the list by UA-cam. It was a waste of time watching. We are all looking for a good review on products, total information, if we decide to buy or not. Should I buy this product just based on taste and water flow. naa, I don't think so. It's too bad he put the word review in his YT heading. A hole year went by and all he was concern with was taste and water flow, Really. Give me a break. Again that was a waste of time doing that Review.
