Not trying to hate on this song/band, because I am well aware jt was a classic history piece to a lot of us growing up. Though I can’t help but say I always felt like the lead singers voice matched the shape of his nose if that makes any sense?

This, King Of Wishful Thinking and This Disaster (from Madden 2005) back when me and my youngest step bro were in elementary and my older sis and older step bros were in middle/high school. I’m 26 now and I always love listening to songs that take me way back and I’ll cherish and never forget them. Sad how much music has changed in recent memory, in a bad way
i now dedicate this song to my biology teacher who played this song in class because she liked it and it was one of my favorite songs too even though everyone else in my class wanted to skip this song i hope you look through the comment section
This song brings back memories. First song I've ever heard by NFG and from then on I became a fan. I didn't even know music like this existed it was just new and fresh and it just invigorated my soul. MTV2 don't have the same programs as they use to but if it wasn't for the Rock Countdown and the show Greatest Hits I never would have gotten into one of the greatest pop punk bands to ever exist.
I remember when I was little I would listen to this song with my dad, I love it and when I got older it randomly came into my head I was trying to remember the song name and I just sang some of the lyrics that I remembered and I finally found it 😭
This album WAS my 2004. Especially summer since it came out in May, I was in 9th grade transitioning to 10th aka perfect age for NFG. 16 years later, I'm 31 and will love NFG Forever + Ever × Infinity!
Wow, I'm seeing a lot of comments about how people were in high school when this song came out. I was 11 when it came out, I first saw this video as part of the TRL music video countdown. I haven't heard it since then, but I never forgot the chorus lol, and I just had to hear it again. Still a great song.
I remember the premiere. It was June of 2004, summer break had just started. It was right around noon, I microwaved a bunch of Jose Ole taquitos and watched the video with my brother. MTV still had VJs and they hyped it up. I thought it was weird but I liked the song. That afternoon I went fishing, then there was a huge airsoft battle in my neighborhood, then I went ice skating that night, then I stayed up late watching anime on Adult Swim. Life was good. A few weeks later my brother showed me this really cool website called MySpace and I found out that a girl from my class liked NFG and the Used lol.
My brother used to listen to this song a lot when it had came out. He was like 14 years old, I was about 11. I was always more interested in hip hop since that’s what my much older sister listened to, and I looked up to her hardcore. But my brother liked all different types of rock music. I would sneak a listen to this while he wasn’t around. I remember he had The Used: In Love And Death on CD, and I would constantly take it out of his room when he was gone and listen to the songs I’d liked, then hurry and put it back in his room. We weren’t big friends when we were young, so I just wanted something to connect with my brother on, music. We bonded HARD through music as the years went on. For the longest time he’d hated hip hop, but I showed him the art side of hip hop, and he taught me the art of his music. He’s gone now, but I still remember him through all his music. Love you bro! ❤️
Jeff Panetta nostalgic means it reminds you of the good times in your past. this video came out 12 year ago, which is the past. therefore it can refer to it being nostalgic to some people. there.
This song is phenomenal good New Found Glory was so underrated! And I just love the music video at 2:39 when the sun screams "AND YOU CAN GO WITH ME DOWWWNN!!!" IT WAS JUST AWESOME!!
When you hear certain songs in very strange parts of your life. They will never leave you. It was not nice times. But when I hear this one nowadays it makes me smile. Thank you for the power of music. Thank you A New Found Glory. ;)

You're hiding something, 'cause it's burning through your eyes
I try to get it out but all I hear from you are lies
And I can tell you're going through the motions
Figured you were acting out your part
Once again, we're playing off emotion
Which one of us will burn until the end?
Catalyst, you insist to pull me down
You contradict the fact that you still want me around
And it's all downhill from here
And it's all downhill from here
Your good intentions slowly turn to bitterness (turn to bitterness)
Reoccurring episodes with each and every kiss (let's go)
And I can tell you're going through the motions
Figured you were acting out your part
Once again, we're playing off emotion
Which one of us will burn until the end?
Catalyst, you insist to pull me down
You contradict the fact that you still want me around
And it's all downhill from here
And it's all downhill from here
And I can't believe you pulled it off again
Or noticed till it all sets in
You'll deny it till you're at your bitter end
And I can tell you're going through the motions
Figured you were acting out your part
Once again, we're playing off emotion
Which one of us will burn until the end?
Catalyst, you insist to pull me down
You contradict the fact that you still want me around
And it's all downhill from here
And it's all downhill from here (and you keep pulling me down)
Pulling me down, pulling me down
You contradict the fact that you still want me around

2020 and this song is still burning through my heart
Reminds me of my middle school angst 🤣
big facts lol
should get that checked out.
Not trying to hate on this song/band, because I am well aware jt was a classic history piece to a lot of us growing up. Though I can’t help but say I always felt like the lead singers voice matched the shape of his nose if that makes any sense?
took me 14 years to find this song again............. cant express my feelings rn so i wont.
i completely forgot i owned a cople of these albums 16ish years ago.
Same! I was drawing a blank on the group, but god I missed it!!
New Found Glory has been, to date, the most awesome live show I've ever been to. Also, I was not expecting a full blown mosh pit but it happened lol. That's how much energy these guys have when performing live.
I want this song to be on Dance Dance Revolution World & Pump It Up Phoenix
I just remembered seeing this video on MTV or something when I was 6 and I loved it then ... and I still love it
Still banging this in 2024.
Big fan of this band, I've watched them for years!! I've also been to 3 of their shows!! can't get enough of them!!🎸🎸♪♪
loved this song in college! who's listening in 2016

Lyrics
You're hiding something, 'cause it's burning through your eyes
I try to get it out but all I hear from you are lies
I can tell you're going through the motions
Figured you were writing out your part
Once again we're playing off emotion
Which one of us will burn until the end.
Catalyst you exist to pull me down,
You contradict the fact that you still want me around,
And its all downhill from here,
And its all downhill from here
Your good intentions slowly turn to bitterness
Reoccurring episodes with each and every kiss
I can tell you're going through the motions
Figured you were writing out your part
Once again we're playing off emotions
Which one of us will burn until the end.
Catalyst you exist to pull me down,
You contradict the fact that you still want me around,
And its all downhill from here,
And its all downhill from here
I can't believe you pulled it off again
I'm running till it all sets in
You'll deny it till you're at your bitter end
I can tell you're going through the motions
Figured you were writing out your part
Once again we're playing off emotions
Which one of us will burn until the end.
Catalyst you exist to pull me down,
You contradict the fact that you still want me around,
And its all downhill from here,
And its all downhill from here
Pulling me down pulling me down
Catalyst you exist to pull me down,
You contradict the fact that you still want me around,
And its all downhill from here,
And its all downhill from here
AND YOU KEEP PULLING ME DOOOOOOOOOOWN!!!!
and you keep pulling me down
Pretty sure it’s “figured you were acting out your part” not “writing out your part”, acting out your part meaning not being genuine.
thank god for people like you
How long did it take to write this????
Mga bay naminaw ko....! ❣️🙂🥰❤️❤️❤️
Saw them last night, this was their last song haha crowd went wild singing along
wait they're still together? i haven't heard from them in years
one of their members is gone because of something that happened last year now their is only 4
thats cool did you have fun . seeing them tomorow night at starland ballroom.
yes i did, they really know how to pump up a crowd
JOBROFAN1583 Dude, they just released a new album...
*core memory unlocked* 🥹
I hate how smart phone oriented our society is now. I miss the genuine conversations
Mac Williams I miss watching music on tv
I remember when I was little I would listen to this song with my dad, I love it and when I got older it randomly came into my head I was trying to remember the song name and I just sang some of the lyrics that I remembered and I finally found it 😭
This album WAS my 2004. Especially summer since it came out in May, I was in 9th grade transitioning to 10th aka perfect age for NFG. 16 years later, I'm 31 and will love NFG Forever + Ever × Infinity!
This song brings back those TRL days. Those middle school days
Taurean Simmons Shit me too. God those were the day.... "Left Face...... Right face..... Above face" Ahhhh god those were the days.
I still think this is the 'perfect' New Found Glory song. Couldn't ask for anything more.
I havent heard this song since i was 13, god it feels good to look back at all the good memories back in the day :-)
Wow, I'm seeing a lot of comments about how people were in high school when this song came out. I was 11 when it came out, I first saw this video as part of the TRL music video countdown. I haven't heard it since then, but I never forgot the chorus lol, and I just had to hear it again. Still a great song.
The guy who did the art for this music video also does album artwork for THE USED
DUDES IT'S BEEN 16 YEARS AND THIS IS STILL ON MY PHONE!
Anyone else still listening to this in 2024😎🤟🔥
classic 2000's
I remember the premiere. It was June of 2004, summer break had just started. It was right around noon, I microwaved a bunch of Jose Ole taquitos and watched the video with my brother. MTV still had VJs and they hyped it up. I thought it was weird but I liked the song. That afternoon I went fishing, then there was a huge airsoft battle in my neighborhood, then I went ice skating that night, then I stayed up late watching anime on Adult Swim. Life was good. A few weeks later my brother showed me this really cool website called MySpace and I found out that a girl from my class liked NFG and the Used lol.
this song literally never gets old \m/
did anyone's 15 year old self bring them back here? #takeback #whenmusicwassemigood
Haha nope the 27 year old did!! 🤘🤘

probably the best new found glory song and the only one i really like the most!
Why is this bands music so nostalgic?
Jeff Panetta nostalgic means it reminds you of the good times in your past. this video came out 12 year ago, which is the past. therefore it can refer to it being nostalgic to some people. there.
Here's your sign
This song is phenomenal good New Found Glory was so underrated! And I just love the music video at 2:39 when the sun screams "AND YOU CAN GO WITH ME DOWWWNN!!!" IT WAS JUST AWESOME!!
This music video is so underated. I still remember this song all these years later because of how visually stunning it is.
This is one of my favorite childhood songs ❤️❤️❤️ still a banger!
It's 2020 and this should be this year's theme song. "It's all down hill from here"
Lmao
True lol
When you hear certain songs in very strange parts of your life. They will never leave you. It was not nice times. But when I hear this one nowadays it makes me smile. Thank you for the power of music. Thank you A New Found Glory. ;)
I remember seeing this video on TRL back when I had acne and was shorter.
Sean Maloney You want to talk about it?
And you never knew back then that you'd wish you could go back to those days so badly, huh?
Or is it just me???
Lily Sophia Sometimes I do, everything seemed simpler then. But then I realize that it's all nostalgia and I'd still be a dork :)
U mean when u was a tiny pinky. Now u a full grown thumb.
I still had acne
