Garnet Hill loop - Yellowstone National Park

- This is one of the first hikes that you can do in Yellowstone that will be mostly clear of snow. I also saw the first bear tracks. These are not great tracks, but I think they look more like black bear tracks than grizzly tracks. One thing to keep in mind about tracks this time of year is that they may actually be tracks that were made last fall and frozen into the mud all winter.
This is one of my favorite hikes in Yellowstone. I accidentally discovered a bear den east of the footbridge once. I’ve seen bison, River otters and bald eagles. Thanks Stan for taking me down memory lane
And I see lots of grizzlies there as you can see in my older videos.
Love this, Stan! Thank you! The bison rolling and grunting was a treat. I never get tired of watching large animals do their rolls. I stop and just watch also when my horse drops. Just something about it. Nature...ya gotta love it.
The buttercup was special, the roaring of the river, and the interesting tracks were also!
The bison in the snow squall was so majestic. Loved it. Thank you Stan. 👍👍😊
Wow, the first flower of spring in Yellowstone. Thanks for sharing. Im enjoying your video's.
Thank you. Looks like a good place for a decent hike I would like sometime. We took a whirlwind drive through parts of the park about six years ago on the way to Cody. Got to see Old Faithful.
I got to camp on the Yellowstone with my parents when I was ten years old. My dad had a red wooden popup camper with Model A wheels and new army green canvas covering. Broke my heart when he sold it after we arrived at his post in California.
Wow what a beautiful area Stan! I can see why it’s a favorite!! Absolutely amazing. Thanks for taking us along!! Sagebrush Buttercup. Sign of spring coming .
Thank you for being such a light in the world ❤
Thank you. It is nice to be able to get out and walk instead of snowshoeing.
A beautiful opening for the season. Here's to a peaceful enjoyment of natures' best, thanks to you.
Beautiful day, very quite.❤
Thanks for the video Stan. I walked the loop yesterday and really enjoyed it (especially keeping my feet dry). I think I saw the same bear tracks walking up Elk Creek. The "bison hike-arounds" were a new twist for me.
I nominate this as your best videography ever. Especially overlook views of the Yellowstone River. This is one hike I will do this summer.
That sure was nice to see Yellowstone , those tracks were great to see also wildflower’s. Exciting season to be starting spring always exciting! Thank you loved the hike god bless you!
Good morning. I think those were frozen bear tracks from last fall but it is hard to tell.
Great to see the trail now. Last time I visited I wanted to hike it, but the trail was closed for flood washout and high bear traffic. Ended up going down Hellroaring instead, another fantastic hike nearby obviously.
Nice hike, thanks for sharing.
Always great videos from you Stan 🎉
Garnet Hill is one awesome place! Thanks for sharing. 👍😎🇨🇦🙏🌾🌲🏵
Great Hike Thanks ,
Beautiful. Thanks, Stan.
The weather did not know what it wanted to do for Stan lol
Curious about the hole at 3:18. Gopher? Porcupine? (Anaconda??)
Had a bear been digging into it?
Need to remember that hike next time I’m in YS - looks absolutely beautiful.
Did some of the elk still have antlers? It was hard to tell, but i would have thought they were all dropped by now. Beautiful hike!
Stan, love these videos. How clod was it when the snow started?
Probably about 35f I think.
What is that red thing in the tree at 8:39?
That is a Yellowstone trail marker.
Vintage Mills
I don't know what elevation you were at. Would you say that snow pack is low for this time of year there?
definitely low
Is there a super cut of the snowy bison footage featured at around 9:56?
No. I wasn’t even going to video that bison as I was walking by. But I decided to because I didn’t have much wildlife in my video. Glad I did because that little video turned out kinda nice with the snow coming down.
@@StanMills it’s a real gorgeous shot, all your videos are very nicely done, thank you
does anyone know how he gets the video of himself walking? He never responds to any questions on any subject so that's why am asking everyone else
I set up a tripod. Actually here is a video that shows how I do it. Thank you for your comments. ua-cam.com/video/8VEFWjUvV84/v-deo.htmlsi=XeW02jldy1NGetWH
Looks dry eek hopefully as la nina kicks in yellowstone gets rain
Are the Grizzlies still hibernating?
I think most are still hibernating. There should be some male grizzlies out now.
Looks like that claw print was still steaming...
