Thank you all for the patience!! This was one of our biggest edits so far, we started with 800GB of footage 🙈It took over a week to edit but it's one of our favorite videos! Hope you love it too ❤️
Yes!!! Worth the wait!! Y’all are amazing!!
Beautiful 🤩 well done 👍🏻 it’s like I’m watching a documentary
Well done.... 👏👏
What's the name of the sanctuary?
@@robaeli854 The older elephants in the video are in ithumba in Tsavo East National Park
My husband and I went on a weeklong safari in Kenya for our honeymoon in July 1994. It was wonderful and we saw the big five and so much more, it was truly a beautiful experience. I also got pregnant with our twin daughters on that trip. 🙏🏽❤️❤️
It had to be twins hehe...awesome
Mapenzi tele (plenty of love) on our magical land. The Wildebeest migrate from Serengeti to the Masai Mara 🇰🇪 to make babies too. 🤣🤣
@miamirabel - 👍🇰🇪 - You got Twins? Congratulations. Your Husband got too Excited he gave you Twins. That a Story to tell your Daughters. KUDOS. 🇨🇦☻🇰🇪
Oh, wow! Time to bring the twin daughters to Kenya. A lot has changed (for the better) since ‘94. You will all love it! 😍
Hope you can bring our babies back for one more experience. Happy to hear that though
Such a cool experience! This is for sure on our bucket list since we live in Nairobi!
Yess you have to do it! 🐘❤️
Wassup my people. 😊
I am Kenyan and a fan of @Dave-Trace Mani and @Raya and Louis. Can you guys meet up and do a vlog together. That would be heartwarming.
@davemani i see u dave

As much as I love seeing the silly baby elephants, seeing the smiles of the Kenyan people made my heart so happy! Such beautiful souls doing so much for animals. I love it
Very good next time I will invite you to Tanzania to visit Serengeti, Ngorongoro Crater, Tarangire and Lake Manyara parks if you are ready please
welcome . next time if happen to come back. I will take you around masaai mara
❣️❣️
It's sos interesting to me how easy it is for me as a Kenyan to take these things for granted. It is very entertaining and interesting to see how intreeged the both of you are by things I have grown up seeing and doing. Thank you for making my country look beautiful! I'm glad that you enjoyed it, and hope you adopted an elephant or two.
As a Kenyan who is literally a neighbor to the sheldrick elephant trust and Nairobi national park as well as giraffe center I too didn't realise how rare this is for other people!!! It's so cool watching your reactionsss..
@@amenazanzibarwalla Africa has some of the most amazing wildlife on the planet (imo). Glad to see that people there actually appreciate their African wildlife. Unfortunately in the US the only way we can see elephants, zebras, lions, giraffes, etc. is in a zoo, which is very sad because these animals don't belong in captivity, but that's another story.
One of the richest mother land in Africa, not only animals but spectacular landscape,y'all should go on safaris, much love from Kenya 🇰🇪
How many Kenyans are watching this 😍😍👌🇰🇪🇰🇪🇰🇪
👇
My grandma has lived in Kenya since the 80s and I have been out to visit ever since I can remember every year and am lucky enough to say I have been on countless safaris. There’s nothing like it. Years later, she’s struggling with health so seeing videos like this reminds me of home. Thank you so much for feeling hiw special this country is for me when I can’t be there mysekf❤️
I was born in Nairobi, which I left 50 years ago. I've been back and these videos are so nostalgic.
Come back, this will forever be your home
Thank you for showing us how magical Kenya is. I am Kenyan and I didn't even know such an amazing place existed. 💚💚💚
We went on a Kenyan safari in 2018 and it was one of the coolest things we’ve ever done! Also you can’t go overboard on shots of animals while in safari! 😉
Have been to Africa 6 times ( South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda). Each time my husband and I do self drive safaris. We love Africa, it is one of our favorite places to go. Hope to be back this summer and try the Put Foot Rally!
Can I ask where your from and what’s the approx cost for the 2 of you and for how long of a stay each time? Thank you in advance for your response and time
My dad took my sister on our first trip out of the US to Kenya. We visited the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust and my mom and I adopted and continue to adopt elephants from there. When I saw the thumbnail my heart stopped because I knew that’s where you were going. Elephants have been and will always be my favorite animal and it was the best trip I have ever been on elephants 🐘 .Getting to see animals on game drives in the wild and at the at the orphanage was magical. I definitely will go back with my family one day!!
Welcome back we appreciate your visit to this magical land
My mom and I spent 3 weeks in Kenya in July and August of 1981 right before I started 8th grade. We were visiting my cousin who was in the Peace Corps teaching music at a Catholic girl's high school in Limuru. It was one of the defining periods of my life. The people we met, the wildlife we saw, and the experiences we had impacted my view of the world every day since. My one regret is that we didn't have a great camera with us, but we made the best of what we had. The main safari we took was to Masai Mara where we stayed along the Mara River during the wildebeest migration. We didn't see any elephants on that trip but did see vultures, water buffalo (definitely NOT the bison we have in America), crocodiles, hippos, giraffes, okapi, antelope, topi, lions, cheetahs, monkeys, and a leopard. It truly is a life-changing experience! Thank you for sharing your experiences with all of us and encouraging people to consider making this trip.
Oh and zebra, gazelles, ostriches, and more that I'm sure I'm forgetting...
Wow! That’s quite some years ago. A lot has changed for the better in Kenya. If you can, you may wish to come back. 😉
I have never been to Africa. After this video, for sure in my bucket list. 😊🥰🥰
Yess you must! ❤️
Please do you will never ever regret it!!!
Always welcomed to this magical land
We have visited the Sheldrick’s Orphanage in Nairobi in August and have also stayed at Sheldrick’s Ithumba Camp for a couple of days. Both places are incredible. We are fostering elephants at both places and we’re so happy to meet them all.
Ahh amazing!! ❤️
kenya is british and british is kenya your most welcome in kenya anytime any day
You make me fall in love with my Kenya all over again!
Following you from Kenya 🇰🇪 This was so lovely.
FYI - the lilac breasted roller is Kenya’s national bird! Says everything about our people and the land!
Thanks for sharing.
Oh wow no way! We were blown away by how beautiful it was. Makes sense! 💕
@@RayaandLouis Enjoy every bit of your travels!
I’m South African and it’s my first time watching your vlog and loved it. Inspiring me to travel to Kenya. Hope that I will be able to do so this year.
Hello from Kenya 🇰🇪. Just saying hey as I’ve noted you share the same surname with a South African colleague. 😀
I have just found this video, Oh my goodness, how good is Kenya, Sheldrick Trust and Safari. We spend a lot of time in Kenya, Nairobi working with a charity, running resilient and leadership programs for children that live in Kibera, East Africa's largest urban slum. We have been to the elephant orphanage many times. It's such an incredible place and doing such important conservation work. We are back in Nairobi in March '23 and I am definitely going to check out flying out to the place where you visited where the older Elephant orphans are looked after, it looked incredible. As far as safari's go, life changing experiences. We have been to Nairobi National Park and did a quick day safari, which was incredible. We have also done many safari's in Tanzania also. My favourite is Tarangire National Park because of the Elephants. There are huge populations of them and it's spectacular. Elephants are absolutely my favourite animals too Raya!
I am more and more interested how can I get to Kenya from Bulgaria. This video was amazing! Kenya, here I come! :)
Welcome to our magical land.
Kenya’s capital, Nairobi is considered one of the biggest hubs in AFRICA. It’s easy to connect from major international airports in Europe, Middle East, etc. London Heathrow, Paris, Milan, Doha (Qatar), Dubai, etc… have direct connections to Kenya.
@ Milena Radeva welcome to Kenya!
People: Safaris can't be cute, they're dangerous!
Raya and Louis: Hold my baby elephants
What you get when you combine a safari and cuteness overload into one...this is adorable
Those were are partly domesticated from orphanage elephants but like in amboseli for completely wild elephants DONT DARE!
Talk of a wholesome vlog!!! I'm watching this in between my project break and it's pure bliss. Having been born and raised in Kenya, I really don't know why I haven't gone to the Sheldrick Trust yet. It's been on my bucket list forever.
@@irenedavo3768 Hello
As a Kenyan born and raised next to a game park, I tend to take a lot of things for granted. Just realized how much some of these things mean to so many other people....
Watching from Decatur GA USA. I truly wish I could visit. No harm in dreaming. 🌅 🌎 🌙
Hi good people Raya and Louis, I just watched you for the first time and I am just in love with your videos. Am Kenyan but living in neighboring Rwanda and am extremely proud of Kenya and you guys for showing Kenya to the world, Big love!!!!
Just got back from Kenya on Thursday 12th 2023 unfortunately we didn't make it to this orphanage, our guide didn't book it in time, however Kenya was just outstanding I am a pro photographer and we took about 6500 images, of all the amazing animals, I am working on my next trip and I will make sure to visit that elephant orphanage, thanks for your great video very enjoyable.
It has always been my dream to visit Africa. Thank you for all of the b-roll of baby animals. There can never be enough!
You should come home Rachel
Thank you for showcasing Kenya 🇰🇪
Thank you so much for this. I love elephants so much and not many people realize just how special they are. 🤗❤️
☺️🐘❤️❤️
I have watched lot's of Travel/Safari videos on UA-cam but truth be said, this felt so natural to watch. I genuinely enjoyed every bit of it. Heartwarming in all the sense of the word.
Beautiful people, awesome vibes, and majestic animals. HEAVEN!!! 🥰
Thank you!!
Thank you for choosing to tour in Kenya. It is always a joy to watch videos of wildlife in Kenya. Currently, I am based in the UK and I always make sure I visit a game reserve or two any time I travel to my beloved country. Which I always find to be a very breathtaking experience. Happy Travels.
Thank you so much Raya and Louis. High five from Chicago. Thank you taking me with you in your journey. Mother Africa I miss you. Subscribed 😀
Can’t wrap my head around how cute that baby elephant was
I know 😭😭 I was not ok after seeing it. Teared up many times off camera haha
I needed this today! I was there in Kenya in 2017 and this brought back the sheer baby elephant joy 🤩
Welcome back
I'm catching up on all the vlogs this evening and I must share I cried too!!!!
The elephants are beyond charming. That newborn baby OMG cutest baby ever!
If I could go to Africa I'm not sure I would come back.
BLESSED

We are there for you, welcome.
Watching from Kenya.. .. sometimes it takes a visitor to open your eyes to just how beautiful your country is, and the need to explore more.... Thank you for opening my eyes
Honestly each vlog gets better and better. This has got to be one of my favourites though! Thank you for sharing this fantastic experience.
Thank you so much!! ❤️
Ok, I’m going to date myself here. I was in Kenya in 1991, 1992 and 1993 combining Tanzania with two of the three times in Kenya. On my 1993 trip, I wanted to make a trip to the Sheldrick Trust orphanage but didn’t go because the orphanage had no baby elephants! It was because everything and everybody that was an elephant was 100% thriving and no babies were in trouble. Speed ahead to now, June 2022. I’m leaving mid-July 2022 for a combined Tanzania/Kenya safari. I can only imagine the changes since 1993. I also have adopted an elephant through the Sheldrick Trust and hope to see her when I’m in Nairobi early August. I know that challenges are facing the Sheldrick Trust due to baby rescues, some of which have lost their mothers due to elephant/human conflicts. That’s why it’s important more than ever that the locals are educated on how to live with elephants and other wildlife. Sadly, back in 1991, 1992 and 1993 when I was in Kenya, the habitat for the wildlife even then was a huge problem and it continues today. Africa’s wildlife is worthy of protection, conservation and preservation.
In between my East Africa trips, I have gone to South Africa, Namibia, Botswana, and Zimbabwe several times and this, too, is amazing. I saw wildlife not found in East Africa such as sable and roan antelopes, and of course the Africa bush is quite different. I love it all. The Africa bush is my sanctuary, my peace, and it’s where my heart is buried. The magical moments of my many times to Africa leaves me with the hope that these animals are here for many generations to enjoy as I have. And that animal/human conflicts become an unspoken relationship between man and beast. I would be remiss if I didn’t mention how much I miss the bush each and every day when I’m away from it. It literally has grabbed me and still holds tight after all these years.
New subscriber from Kenya. Asante for visiting my country. I'll be watching all your videos. Keep up the good work
Thank you so much!
Yeah, I'm watching from Africa 🇿🇦 Loved the episode! The whole family loved your channel... From granny, to mother to me haha. Can't wait to see more of 🇨🇷! One of my favourite countries on earth! Keep up the amazing content guys
This isn't 🇹🇭. It's Kenya
Am from Kenya living in Spain and I am genuinely enjoying this video
I haven’t been on a safari or an elephant rescue park and it is definitely on my list. Greetings from London🇬🇧. Safe travels.
Elephants have always been my favorite. They are so complex, intelligent and such an amazing family unit. This has moved to the top of my bucket lists.
Good to see Indian food in the restaurant in Kenya. Its not the food actually make me happy but how world is accepting all cultures and so I would love to sit in a Kenyan village and enjoy a home made breakfast. A well rounded video. Excellent narration. Covered all aspect of wildlife. Top job !!!!
So super happy for you both! I safaried in Kenya probably 25 years ago. EPIC!!!!!
🇰🇪 - Your wife is so Cute & kind with a BIG Heart💓. She was Crying in Mombasa when She Saw the Giraffes and now She is Crying seeing the Elephants. That is Sign of a person who Cares about Others.CHEERS👍That's why they Call it MAGICAL KENYA. IT SURE IS MAGICAL. (new subscriber)👍👌 🇨🇦☻🇰🇪
I couldn’t stop smiling the whole video! I can’t imagine actually being there in person! Thank you for sharing this incredible experience!
That was amazing. I could have watched it for so much longer than the 38 mins! I would imagine that once you’ve seen or interacted with many of those animals, you’re never quite the same again …… and your meals!😍 You’ve got some of the best content on here. Xxx
Thanks so much Sarah! ❤️
Africa in general is on my bucklist, but this is experience looks like a one in a lifetime! How extraordinary to watch them, play and feed and then to know that one day they will meet a new family and not return but they will be free and happy is the best thing! Love nature!
You better tag Kenya 🇰🇪. You will see many Kenyans here
So Cute! Who doesn't love baby elephants? As I understand it, the typical gestation period for the mother elephant is 18-22 months. Imagine being pregnant for almost two years. Another benefit of raising elephants in a shelter is that you can make handmade paper from their poop. Since elephants eat mostly hay, their feces are rich in fiber, which can be "harvested" and turned into paper pulp. And they are very prolific.
Am in Kenya and just followed you two days ago after that SGR VIDEO to and from Mombasa. Mother nature is the best thing that God gave us all. Welcome to Kenya 🇰🇪 .
I’ve visited the SWT twice (2017 and 2019). I so want to visit Ithumba when I return to Kenya in 2023. One orphan - Larro - who I met when she was just rescued and brought to Nairobi nursery, was moved to Ithumba in January 2022. I have kept photos of Larro on my phone for 3 years so I look forward to seeing her again. Thanks for this great video.
I've been helping sponsor a baby elephant there that recently started reintegration. It's so cool to see you all there and what it's really like outside of the beautiful photos they share! What a special place. Thank you for sharing!
Nuff respect ❤️
I'm with Raya. Elephants are my favourite. I've been lucky to visit an elephant sanctuary and to be up close to these creatures is humbling. To look into their eyes and see into their souls. How anyone can harm them is beyond me. Awesome video as usual xxxx
Watching this all the way from Africa, South Africa to be exact. Iv visited the Kruger National Park and its ranked as 1 of biggest Safari's in the world. Come through 🙂. Say Hi to Raya 🥰
Thank you so much for this video and sharing your experience. You guys are living the life that even I want to live, your video has inspired me even more to experience Africa through my own 5 senses. Thanks again for this wonderful video.
Absolutely amazing. Your vulnerability and deep feelings toward the natural world are wonderful, Raya. Don't ever change. We are all interconnected. ❤🧡💛💚💙💜

I can't believe the park is this close to the city. That's incredible!
They Say Nairobi is only capital city with a national park
@@reduniverse8912 I have to go visit. Kenya made it into my travel priority list hahaha
@@AmandaIbraimovic Welcome anytime you're ready. The safari experience is awesome here
It’s the only natural national park within a capital city in the world
Contact me and we make a combined Kenya (Nairobi - national park) and Tanzania Serengeti and Ngorongoro crater trip. Let me know
Grew up in Nairobi and every December our family would holiday in the different Game reserves...my favorite was Amboseli. I've lived in the U.S for 30 years and each time I visit its just 2-3 weeks to see family. I am planning a must do safari trip next summer with my family...I will definitely include this place coz I love elephants too.❤
Thanks for sharing.
Thank you for visiting our country and showcasing the majestic elephants - conservation begins with love . So that future generations can also experience these animals. And also for Natural balance. All the best in your future adventures. Come visit again. With love from Nairobi, Kenya.
this is amazing
I've not been on safari, but 6 years ago we were at Lincoln Park Zoo in Chicago. They had a male lion. I was maybe a half mile away at another exhibit. The lion roared. I felt it as if I were next to it, and a chill went through me. When I got to the lion exhibit, I realized how far away I'd been and how loud it was. Many zoos in my life, but had never heard a lion roar in real life. I can imagine you felt something similar when you were that close to that male lion giving out a roar. Sheer terror? 😁😁
I went to Uganda to Queen Elizabeth nature reserve and it was the first time I've seen a WILD elephant and I was non-stop crying. It was magical and I would love to do it again!
I get you Emma! 🐘❤️
Woah just an hour ago I was looking up Safaris for my honeymoon so this is PERFECT aaah
Haha love that!! Such an epic honeymoon idea 😍
As Kenyans, we kinda take these things for granted, nice to see other people appreciate them. Next time you should do a video on the Mara crossing. there is a nice place called olonana in Masai mara just next to where all the action is.
This was incredible!
I loved the B roll!
Easily one of the best UA-cam videos I've ever watched. Thank you so much!
I am so jealous of you! I'm glad you guys had that awesome experience. I have supported Sheldrick for some time now and I loved seeing the sanctuary through your eyes. Thank you for sharing with us and thank you for the hard work it took for you to bring us this video. Safe travels!!
Karibu Kenya.
I've been more than five times to Kenya, it is an absolutely lovely country. Major kudos for this video, the proximity with the elephants was really heart warming, I'll definitely do it next time. Thanks for sharing :)
Loved this Rays and Louis. I had always dreamt of visiting a safari in Africa but was too anxious to fly so far, I live in Brighton, England but in 2013 I booked a holiday to South Africa and Swaziland and visited a few different safaris and to this day it was the best experience of my life and I can’t wait to return.
Karibu Kenya 🇰🇪 My homeland.
I went to a safari in Kenya circa the 2010s, cannot even compare it to anything. I know it's a privilege but if you have the means to travel abroad, it should be a priority rather than a luxurious place. People are so friendly and you'll have a great vacation. I'm hoping to go back next year to live there for a year at a monkey rehabilitation center *fingers crossed*
And I believe Sammy was our tour guide as well!!!
P.S. Safaris are not dangerous... I don't know who started that rumour :D
Amazing video Thank you. I was born in Kenya and used to spend holidays at Nanyuki, on the slopes of Mount Kenya. An incredible Blessing.
Thank you so much for sharing your safari with us. Very fascinating and interesting-just wonderful. I wish it would allow us to give multiple thumbs up!!

Ahh thank you! ❤️
I love the elephants, those are my favorite animal too!
Hi there. Lived in Kenya for 3 years during my childhood. Loved every minute. So many sweet memories. Forgotten all my swahili though. Enjoy. Looked like it was great fun. Enjoying all your videos. Fun and intimate rather than just another travel blog
