    The brand TMF has a portable that is a heated of 800 psi. You can also buy an additional attachment called the booster for an additional $850 which allows you to bring upstairs because it’s light in weight while you leave the portable down stairs or outside and bring that little booster with you up stairs and that booster is super strong

    My dad ran his company with OG Ninjas for 20 years and he continues to use them to this day at 65 years old. I ran portables for 2 years when i started my company but went to a truckmount last year. I do still use a portable on occasion, mostly for apartments that i cant get close to the building. Can still get the same clean with both but I've found that the truckmount is faster.

    If you're just starting out get a portable with a super strong vacuum that will work with 50ft of hose and a pump out. Park it in the bath or kitchen run the pump out into the toilet or kitchen sink. 200 psi is just fine with a 2 jet wand. A hydroforce is designed to be used at at 400 psi so use an electric sprayer instead for your prespray. Lugging a machine with a 25 ft hose up and down the stairs to clean is a pain. Forget the heater, just use 5 gal hot water at a time from the tub and add your extraction solution there. Add a rotovac 360i with brush head and you will really impress the customer.

      Is the rotovac for truck mounts only? I have a Tennant 1020 portable, would that be strong enough to run one of those? I’m new to the business but really want to provide the best service possible.

    I've been a carpet cleaner for a long time but never had a gas truckmount, but in the last few years I've been using ETM, I have to say I love ETM because of the flexibility of the ETM system because you can have more than one, when one is down you basically take it out and put another in and go to work without missing a beat. But, I had got tired of the ETM's out there, recently I started building my own so that way it'll be easier to work on and I'll be able to upgrade it whenever I feel it. Currently building a 4-vac etm and I just can't wait to put it on my van then sell all of my factory made ETM's. It's going to be a glorious DAY!

    I live in Kazakhstan, and no one here has a track mount, since carpet is only in offices and restaurants. I use a portable extractor, installed a second turbine, a 600 psi pump, auto drain and auto refill. I'll post a video soon if you're interested.

    Great advice for the beginner or for a back up, and in my case when i retired (semi retired) i downgraded to a portable. I souped my little Mytee up though, it came with two 3 stage vacs, no heat, and 500 psi. I added a 3 stage vacuum booster, so with that along with a bucket heater that i drop into the solution tank i have run up to 125' of hose and knocked out some large commercials work as well as normal residences. For tile i have to do a lot of agitation but with the heat, psi, vac booster, and Gekko squeegee wand it does a very impressive job. I do miss the truck mounts, but at 68, doing the limited number of jobs i do i don't regret downgrading.

    I started with portable.I ended up buying a used boxxer 421 truckmount.The truckmount i don't have to stop to refill the fresh water or dump the dirty water.My water pressure is better,heat is awesome,since i have great heat i use less chemicals and the extraction is a lot better then a portable which means carpets are going to dry a lot faster and besides you just look way more professional.

  • @anthonybasile1962

    Nice explanation, it's definitely a great option, if you got heat, psi and vacuum, it can be just as good as a truckmount , and the added bonus of being to pull it out when you have to really makes it a logical choice.

    I ran a portable for 10 + years. Get 2 3 stage vacuums on it and you can run 50-75 ft of hose. I put in on the front porch. Hook up water to from the spicket and it has an auto dump.. never have to stop, just like a truck mount. I have a little over 300cfm on my system. I also run a little blitz carpet cleaner for the pre-spray 175psi. That sits on the porch too.

    I have a MyTee, it’s the biggest I could get and have only one electric cord and usually have to plug it into a kitchen outlet or it throws a breaker but it works proof is in the dump water sometimes I video this and show my clients looks like dark chocolate milk with chunks anyway the problems I’ve encountered is it’s heavy by myself I cannot get it in or out of my truck so I bring help or I put it on a small trailer with a ramp and this works good next is it takes time for the water to heat up and it uses up quick so you have to take your time one problem I had from the very first time I tried it out was no water coming out of the wand the small holes in the nozzles were stopped up with metal shavings got these unstopped and worked great but stopped up again so take a small pick to fix this and your good to go Oh one more thing there was no instructions on getting the cleaning solution out I always have a shop vac and get it out with this and use it to clean out the dirty water tank.

    This advice came at a great time - I'm saving up for a portable to go alongside the services that we have planned out and I can't thank you enough! Is there a specific reason as to why you'd label rugs over wall to wall carpet as a whole different beast and whether I should be worried as someone who isn't entirely experienced that is looking at a client base where they have majority rugs?

    • @greenrhinoproject
      @greenrhinoproject  7 місяців тому +1

      Rugs are made of many fiber and many sensitive. Take a rug cleaning course to learn. Wall to wall is safer

    • @danielanderson3265
      @danielanderson3265 Місяць тому

      Like he mentioned area rugs are typically made with a lot of different fibers. Higher end rugs sometimes have jute/cotton in the foundation of the rug. So he can drink and buckle with just cold water. Identifying the type of rug will also help you determine the material as well. Most cleaning company’s just outsource their area rug to another company to make some money and to make a client happy

      Make sure you are using the hottest solution possible especially on commercial carpet. Remember not to over wet the carpet. Use a post bonnet on more severely soiled carpets to avoid wicking. Good to have air dryers on hand. A hotter solution allows you to run a higher psi. If you don't have good heat, tone down your psi.
