Two ideas here. 1. Can you scale up the chip size so it can be a non-illuminated display on it's own? This would be an attempt to reproduce a color version of the original Kindle(Amazon) that used electrostatic to hold black pigment to the screen. I suggest this because a color version could be used to simulate things like paintings and posters which for public space advertisers could have some serious cost and presentation benefits. 2. Mounting area for liquid cooled heat sinking. Under the right circumstances this display type industrialized could cover large areas with bright enough light that would probably cook the chip without thermal conduit.
