I love how most of the lyrics are about feeling sorry for hurting someone, but the chorus feels like gently telling someone that you're not happy. "I'm sorry that I hurt you, it's something I must live with every day. And all the pain I've put you through, I wish that I could take it all away, and be the one that catches all your tears. That's why I need you to hear... I want something else, I'm not listening when you say goodbye." There's something oddly raw about the sheer vulnerability of it when you try to make sense of it. Like, it paints a picture of two people who are holding each other back in some way, but one won't let the other go, so the singer has to gently tell them that yes, they love them and are sorry for all the ways they've made them hurt, They wish they could be there for them forever, which is exactly why they have to know, they can't stay. And the final, "I'm not listening when you say goodbye," feels almost like them admitting that even though they know what the right choice is, they're still struggling to truly face the ramifications of their decision. I hope that any of this is intentional lol. Either way a great track, the silence at the beginning of the final chorus gives me the chills.
"The World represents an ending to a cycle of life, a pause in life before the next big cycle beginning with the fool. It is an indicator of a major and inexorable change, of tectonic breadth." - Wikipedia To represent this tarot card, this song is the last song in the album, similar to how The World is the last of the major tarot cards, so that's pretty nice
this is insane work, i really love how clean your instrumental is can i ask for permission to map this song in Cytoid? w proper credit and all given of course
I'm not gonna lie, the piano sounds like At the Speed of Light's, not by rhythm, but by sound. Its a good thing, i've wanted more of that kind of piano ever since I heard ATSOL, so this is perfect
I want to say the instrumental is from magic sword: In the Face of Evil cause its just got the same tone but I'm still not sure. Could be original. The Piano sounds like it was taken off of Lake Shore Drive by Aittoa Haynes Jeremiah (Its on the Gaurdians of the Galaxy sound track) Either way love the song.
The obvious one is Semi-Charmed Life by Third Eye Blind, but there's also The Reason by Hoobastank in there. The...drum and bass? track in there is a mystery to me, though it sounds achingly familiar. I think it's a video game song.
@@NyancyCat Super late to this, but the DnB feeling you get comes from the use of the Amen break, which is pretty standard for DnB tracks, but it's probably an original arrangement of it rather than taken from somewhere else

This was the best choice for an ending song for the album. Absolutely perfect.
This songs an absolute banger, and i kinda really want the instrumental version of this cuz its kinda like...really good though
Don’t worry. They made a new video with just the instrumental.
SO GOOD i love the unique style with the ripped vocals and the original instrumentation
This really was something else
As much as I love how well meshed the songs are, do you plan on putting out just the instrumental part somewhere? Honestly that was my favorite part.
They now have the instrumental in another video.
God damn this hit buttons.
Straight into my breakcore/hardcore ect playlist big ups to Acai
Okay, so
A: Those low synths add a lot of character
B: The piano goes hard
C: Mashup very good.
Thanks Jazzwave.
How did I never comment on this
It's like pouring dense heaven directly into my nerve endings
I mean, except for the Simple Plan... but it works.
For anyone first watching Something Else by Jazzwave, they made a video with the instrumentals separately.
That piano is straight up... something else!
best of the album
I really liked the instrumentals you did for this one. Have you considered making full original tracks next to your incredible mashups?

This is such a good mashup.
A very high note to end this album on jazzwave.
Also, wow, didn't exspect hoobastank to be pitched to Hayley from Paramore
This Needed a "Wake Me Up!"

@@NyancyCat went lurking in the comments of the vid for the full album, according to Jazzw4ve, the instrumentation on Something Else is 100% original
