Timing
Starts when you gain control of Batman (fade in to stage 1)
Ends when you lose control of Batman (fade out to ending)
The Game Gear version is loosely based on the other Sega 8-bit version known as the Master System but there are a lot of minor game mechanic tweaks to make an entirely different experience altogether.
This version does not have the wrong warp glitch (yet) due to lack of an unintentional exit area trigger to enter Stage 5 early when the camera freezes when encountering an Oswald vehicle.
I still think the Game Gear is the more definitive edition over the Master System as it has an introduction cutscene and the ability to summon the batmobile which can be used as a full screen attack.
The run itself can be improved by a couple of seconds, I lost a bit of time on the final section before fighting against Penguin. One annoying mechanic is when you fight against a boss, the first frame after damage invincibility is a Super Armour frame where it will blink like usual but will take absolutely zero damage from it. This is why you don't see me spam the attack button against the first boss or any other bosses in general.
