Hi guys what about the exiles? My boy is working hard his grandfather can from the highlands. It’s difficult I know. I’m English through and through but one things for sure I’ve been supporting Scotland for years. 🏴
So great to see this fella back and chatting
Grieg as head coach for Scotland that's a nice thought for the future and add on Finn as attack coach I'm getting the horn !!!
Grieg seems like the type that would make a solid coach. He's always had good attacking vision, so I wouldn't be surprised if he can express it as a manager
Steady on. Have you had the poke in the a r m?
Unreal podcast one of my favourites already
Great chat. If we’re not smart enough to give Razor the ABs job then it would be fecking exciting to see him head off to Scotland. Hope they go well in the 6N.
Either Razor or take Vern bck now he's been released by Fiji.
Class interview Jim with such a legend in Mr Greig!
That was a fantastic video. Thank you.
Great chat!
Love to hear him interview goodey
Kirk- NZ / Farr Jones - Aus, both captained winning teams as backs but scrum halves so close to pack in fairness.
Yes they can! 🎉
Can and will - says this Yorkshireman with some SA roots. 2 clear scores. The Jock-Boks are better individually and as a team. Hope for an entertaining game. Main thing.
1st ever winning captain. No.9.
class!!
Scotland can beat any team if they want ! Believe it !
Nice
Wish we'd something like the Calcutta Cup. Closest we have is "sure they'll enjoy that on Paddy's day weekend," which isn't the same...
Every team has a special match against England due to history
closest thing I can think of for Ireland is the centenary quaich, although sadly Scotland haven't been competitive in that game for years
yes Scotland can! as we have all witnessed now
David Kirk 1987 Nick Farr-Jones 1991 - you're welcome Rob Kearney
The coach of Edinburgh not worth a mention , as for Stern Vern sad to hear he`s had to leave the Fabulous Fijians
Greg is giant in Japan
Thank God Jim Hamilton Had A Scottish Granny
Wasn't it his dad?
Captain Kirk 1987.
Scotland have a big opportunity this weekend - I think Borthwick has made a big mistake picking Marchant, Mallins, Dombrandt and Marcus Smith at 10. I also don't rate Freddie Steward, still too inexperienced for test rugby and makes dumb mistakes. If Jones had stayed on with England, I feel like it would have only have been a matter of time before Smith and Steward got dropped out of team and Farrell and Daly were reinstated at 10 and 15. On top of that, Jones had already passed on Mallins, Dombrandt and Marchant. We'll find out this weekend if he was justified in doing so.
Borthwick's biggest issue is that Jones failed to integrate the new caps with the older heads. The team Jones picked last year was inexperienced, the one before that was past it. Borthwick's basically having to rebuild the squad from scratch, so it'll be interesting to see if rolling the dice works out for him
@@sumboi2321 As an illustration of that Eddie kept Danny Care and Ben Youngs as his go to 9s with daylight behind them and then still kept with Youngs despite the need to blood new 9s ahead of 2023
Re Q: Yes, just play the game in the Highlands with bagpipes and clans armed with big swords and skirts with nothing underneath.
"Is it still that big?"
Gawd yes. I'd rather lose to the Irish by far than to some chippy skirt wearing chaps.
🤡
" we maybe had a couple of extra over the years.." Greig! This 6N 21 players in the squad not from Scotland! it is massively higher than any other squad in the 6n. England 4. France 4. Ital 6. Wales 7. Ire 7. Yes, even Italy only 6. At least it's an improvement. Last year it Scotland had 27 non-home produced players in the squad.
Thay are all SQ and hardly surprising given you class a foreigner as someone born in other parts of the UK. Stupid or what
There are only two pro teams in Scotland though
Only 3 of them are complete foreigners
Scotland only has 2 pro clubs, 6 semi-pro and a pool of 38,000 registered amateur players. when you filter out those over 35 or under 18, you're left with a very slim group. We have no other choice but to call up hereditary players
Also, Italy has more than double the amount of registered grassroots players. Even if they hadn't invested so heavily in youth rugby, they'd still have more variety on their doorstep
