@@stayspiritual You may find gods n stories in Hinduism but stories are simple explanations of a deeper philosophy for the general mass as not everyone is at a spiritual level where the philosophy could be understood.
For example there is a story of the moon God and how he married 27 daughters of king Daksha. Chandra the moon God spent most of his time his favourite wife Rohini. Other wives being jealous complained to their father. King Daksha cursed moon God with tuberculosis. Moon God asked forgiveness but a curse cannot be reversed so he asked moon to pray to Shiva. Shiva reduced the curse by saying your strength will reduce for 15 days and increase for 15 days. ( Waning and waxing of the moon). LordShiva said to ChandraDev ( moon God) that I am holding your crescent shape of Moon in my hair, and it will indicate you the constant reminder of the curse and the reduced strength. It will also be a message to my devotes that they are dear to me in even their weakest moments.
Now here in Indian astronomy, there are 27 nakshatras or sectors or constellations along the ecliptic of the moon. According to Indian astrology when the Moon is in Rohini Nakshatra( constellation), then that person will be happy, sweet-spoken, satisfied, affectionate to children. Much more can be said explaining the story philosophically.
So you see the co-orelation of stories with actual astronomical facts. Astrological , astronomical facts are presented to masses as stories for their easy understanding. It's only recent that science is discovering constellations and mysteries of the universe which was known to our rishis( sages) and is written in ancient Hindu texts.

According to hinduism, the Earth is round which was told thousand years ago. There is a sanskrit word called Bhugol (Bhu means Earth and gol means round) which simply refers that Earth is round. It is written in Vedas which is a sacred scripture of hinduism.

You guys in your reaction want to understand Hinduism logically. I am a Hindu and I will try to explain what I know after reading some Indian scripts and heard from my gurus. We Hindus don't actually think much about how old is the universe and who created it bcz we simply believe that god created it. All the information in puranas and vedas are for people who are interested in such thoughts and who are curious about the creation. We Hindus believe that everything in Universe has Life and the life itself is GOD. The one who is inside us and giving energy to live our everyday life is GOD himself. To explain a bit it is like the electricity that running through the house and powering all the items like fan, light etc.. in the same way the god himself with his power running through all life in this universe. That means the VEDAS that are base for Hinduism or original name of Hinduism is " SANATANA DHARMA " are actually living things that appeared before sages and guided them about how GOD created the universe. SANATANA DHARMA means ETERNAL TRUTH. It is mainly for guiding the living beings on how to live to reach the ultimate stage of a living being, that is how to become GOD. (spoilers : all living things came from the god and eventually reach god or dissolve in the god, and the guidelines to reach there is called " SANATANA DHARMA "). I am a bit poor in English but I am proud to be Hindu that's why I tried to explain what I know. And you asked why lord vishnu or any other god from Hinduism have many hands. There may be deep meaning in why they took those forms when they appeared before their devotees, but for our understanding is like they are always ready to protect those who have deep faith in them and anyone who asks for help in their difficult times. And there are also many theories about what they hold in their arms. Like Lord Vishnu holds CHAKRA, SHANKA, LOTUS FLOWER AND ABHAYA MUDRA, CHAKRA is a symbol of fire/ flow of time. SHANKA is a symbol of sound, LOTUS FLOWER is a symbol of knowledge/ eternal truth and ABHAYA MUDRA showing that he is always ready to protect. And there is a lot more about SANATANA DHARMA. If you want to learn about Hinduism I recommend you read books that written by an Indian and if possible ask gurus(you can check about gurus in google "Hindu gurus"), so they can explain better, bcz videos that are made on Hinduism and are available on internet and not actually telling you the entire truth. Sorry the msg might be long, but I want you guys have an open mind about Hinduism and if you really interested to know about it, you guys go through the right way to know about it.

Hinduism is a very symbolic religion that represent deeper philosophies through grand visuals, signs, depictions etc. Hence the four arms, heads etc. The famous Lord Ganesh, elephant head god has a big fat stomach, but his vehicle is a mouse! All of it has explanations and the symbolism behind it is well documented in the scriptures itself. I'm just lazy to explain it cause honestly, as a Hindu myself, I have to go into texts for proper information to avoid misleading, so you can work it out if you want.
Regarding the library, look for Nalanda and Takshashila university. 9 million books (conservative number imo) were burnt by the Islamic invader Bakhtiyar Khilji. It is believed that the entire library burned for 6 months because of the sheer number of books which is written using thin layers of wood called "Talegari". This is also the reason why Hindus began to use oral forms like songs, stories etc to preserve their culture.
Hence to experience this multiverse as humans with such limited age span our ancestors deviced a mechanism called meditation . One can experience a different realm in a true meditative state and still be conscious of this life.
One school of thought in hinduism is also Charvaka (materialist and atheist) one of popular sanskrit sloka is -
"Yavat Jivite Sukham Jivite
Rinam Kritva ghartam pibet
Bhasmibhutasya dehasya punragmanm kutah"
Meaning: As long as you live, live happily. Take debt and drink ghee (indian butter). Once the body is reduced to ashes, how can it come back!

That time brahmans don't like charvaka because they challenge the supernatural things and superstitions.. Charvaka are the group of people., many researches said that charvak scripture are destroyed by some fanatics. But charvaka people are those who contribute to alive questioning , challenge societal unbiased based on superstision. Even now many people are charvak in this world, without knowing they are charvak.

The ancient Rishis , had simply named large units of time frames in a single word that represented large numbers. They did not have to articulate the numbers. Many scientific informations are inscrypted and compressed in image and single word . Many revelation came from observation ,maths and realizations from within ,as the universe is within itself . Imagine the you were smaller that neutron and a proton ,the distance to the atom from these satellites ( nutro and proton for example ) would be relatively similar distance from moon to the earth for comparison. There us a universe within ,even if you observe it scientifically . The see-er and enlightened ones could see the potential infinite within and the potential infinite outside it . 🙏

Mugal king burned Nalanda University library (the first university (more than 10000 students from different parts of the world are studied) was built in 500AD) and it took 3 months to completely turn in to ashes. It is estimated that more than 3000000 books or ancient palm leaf scripts are lost. It considered as the biggest lost of knowledge. Islamic invitations distroid lots of temples and Gurukul (ancient school) in south Asia.
we did have a library in ancient India called Nalanda which was burned by an Islamic invader named Aurangzeb the library had so many books that it kept burning for 6 months. there they had books on everything diseases, astronomy, body organs you name it and you will find it with accurate descriptions but it was all gone.

No our ancient scriptures could not be destroyed despite multiple invasion because we have literary traditions based on “Smriti “( that which is memorised ) and “Shruti “ ( that which is recited ) . This is why our ancient scriptures still survive

And those persons who have that knowledge is called as rishis or maharishis or to be precise brahmarshis who have kept this price less knowledge available not just to hindus but to entire mankind thereby to access this stuff you need to first become a student no no sishya indeed and can gain immeasurable amount of knowledge or even super powers and for all this to happen it takes more then life to dedicate and ofcourse it is very much possible for any one to achieve all this all you need is to take shelter of proper authenticated vaidic aashram........there is system for everything that is needed to learn......shivoham

Yes not just libraries but universities were there with lakhs of books in nalanda University , after one monk from that University cured an invader ruler bakhtiyar khilji from a deadly disease he burned all this University , just afraid of if this knowledge exists how Islam will spread in the word some remains are still there

There's hardly a hindu book which is written or thought or dwsigned by a single person. Vedas etc are all thoughts of a bunch of Great sages who were enlightened beings. I believe the Sages or Rishis in Hinduism were equivalent or superior to buddha in knowledge and wisdom. And we had many of such Rishis. Most of our books are their thoughts.
Just a correction. Hinduism is not a belief system. You do not have to believe in anything to be a Hindu. Its a seeking system. The calculation are not to connect to science these where done so as a peoples way of seeking or understanding the world around them in the same manner understanding whats inside of them. Why because we all are made of the same material.
