I just read a Frank Clarke interview where he talks about Collymore, he said Venables phoned him during the '95 Umbro Cup when Collymore was first called up, and asked him about Collymore's attitude, because he was acting like he didn't want to be there. Clarke said he was shocked, because most players would be delighted to be in the England squad when they were playing for Southend two years before! It enjoyable watching Liverpool that time. Magic Barnes, Macca’s pace & acceleration, redknapp’s passing, the legend Ian Rush, killing machine collymore and the one and only Robbie Fowler
How many times did the commentator say "and there's the equaliser for Liverpool!"... We'd have won a couple of Leagues with a good defence. Prime Fowler was on another level too.
This season, and the following season, Liverpool had the most talented team in the league. With more discipline and a more organised defence, we could and should have won at least one title in those two years.
