Thanks. My daughter just got her first bike. A 2007 250r just like the one in your video. It was sitting for 3 years with gas in it! So we have been taking it apart and learning how to clean and replace everything. Lol. You were a big help
ive got an automotive pressure/vaccum tester from blue point i think; man that thing works wonders. Fuel pumps, carbs, brakes, coolant. Literally a liquid wrench.
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures I appreciate your videos very much and I've been making money by doing the work in my new shop. Business is picking up I'm pretty excited.
I use rottella as well. However T5 is not JASO MA rated the conventional 15w40 and the T6 full synthetic are however JASO MA rated for wet clutches. Not that you should have a problem just it may be better for wet clutch applications.
I generally use the conventional. Have used T5 on occasion with no adverse effects but it’s not my usual “go to oil “. I always try to recommend to use what your manual states....even though I go against my own advice. 😀😀
10w 40 is in the owners manual. 15 is not that big a difference to me either. I also don't have or use any other means than cranking the bolts good and tight. I think just regular winging it maintenance is better than doing it shop manual right but not enough times, miles wise.
As long as it’s a recommended oil type in the manual, any time should be fine. I have been known to stray from the manufacturer recommendations but that’s my choice.
I have a question for you I have a ninja 250 year 2000 And he does not want to go into second third fourth fifth or sixth gear only first in neutral. Do you have any ideas?
Bre Ford DOT 3 or DOT 4 usually, should say right on the master cylinder cap. No reason to buy expensive stuff unless it helps you sleep well at night.

They are pretty good machines, I’m always on the hunt for another one. Hope y’all get it running great!
How would you suggest cleaning rust out of the tank? I've tried evaporust and some other things, but not much success
@@danandbarbielove I use vinegar. There’s a video on my channel showing how well it works,
Oil Change: 1:48
Brake Fluid: 8:35
Speedometer Fix: 13:00
Yep, it’s in there…always good to have a roadmap.
I love your Ninja 250 videos. Very helpful.
Thanks, I have had about 5-6 of them, really like those bikes. It’s about time for another!

Ron I might have to look into that. Thanks for watching.
p.s. the way you handled that speedo needle; the grip of an elderly man bruised by arthritis but speed and precision of a praying mantis.
Ron well I’m not quite elderly but got plenty of arthritis starting.

Cool, i am still riding my 125 scooter lol
Danny Steph wanna trade?
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures i wish but i live in Sweden
Danny Steph I’ve never been there. Guess I could try to ride there...a boat is going to be involved! 😂

I always recommend following the manual, but you can do ok with changing things up a little bit as long as you use common sense. Thanks for watching.
Missing the washer between the oil filter spring and the filter.
Maybe so!
nice video, good work.
Thank you!
Hey man nice video really helpful. Out of curiosity do you know when I should switch to full synthetic oil in my 2007 ninja 250 ex 16k ish miles
As long as it’s a recommended oil type in the manual, any time should be fine. I have been known to stray from the manufacturer recommendations but that’s my choice.
Where are you located if you don’t mind me asking? I have a ninja 250 im trying to bring back to life
San Diego area. I just got another Ninja 250
I have a question for you I have a ninja 250 year 2000 And he does not want to go into second third fourth fifth or sixth gear only first in neutral. Do you have any ideas?
Kawasaki has a neutral finder thing, makes it so you can’t miss going into neutral from a stop. Could be an issue with that?
Is it possible to create air in the brake line just by opening the reservoir and closing it to check if it’s empty ?
Eli V no, that won’t get air in the system.
Tom's Tinkering and Adventures ...thanks man great video
Eli V hope it helps you work on your bike.
Does anyone know if there is a specific brake fluid you are suppose to use on motorcycles, or can you just use any kind?

Oil and tires to moto guys is like shoes and yoga to the fairer gender. Nice diagnosis on the speedo.
azdesertdog thanks, I was glad the speedometer was fixable. No beginner rider should be guessing their speed.
How do I change trans oil in my 07 ninja 250??plz help
Engine and transmission are combined. Oil change takes care of both
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures I did earlier...now I'm getting clutch creep 🤦♂️
@@mikebenson1104 did you use motorcycle specific oil?
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures synthetic oil

did u buy that oil at your local auto parts store
Nismo knight productions I don’t recommend oil on my channel, only thing I will say is that you should follow the owners manual.
@@TomsTinkeringandAdventures but were did u buy your oil at is my question
Nismo knight productions I get oil at Autozone or Walmart usually.
You just missed the washer that goes on top of the spring🤔
Lee Bob you talking about the oil filter? I put it on, maybe didn’t get it on camera. I suck at editing! 😂
you are a ticking Tom bomb!!!!!
Alan sterling awesome!
bruh get that t-5 outta there, T4 OR T6 IS WHAT YOU SHOULD USE.
Well technically none of them are mentioned in the manual, so…
