late 70's, early 80's girls hair was hot !! girls first started going short, short, then it became main stream. now 90% of the chicks have long , do nothing , hair.
Things have not changed. I still go through this kind of crap. People these days think looking like you put a little work into your appearance is a crime. So in a way, it's even worse these days. You can't even mention your hair unless you are talking about hair conditioner. The very word "hair spray" seems to elicit rude prejudice. I'm an 80s child, and I'm sick of it!
@eggsammichz That's sad, pathetic, and terrible.....I feel your pain mate/dearie. Though I'm discriminated for how I dress, I do feel like a fish out of water or the only human left on earth after the rest have been turned or replaced by aliens. Though luckily at the church I work with, the people there never discriminate me. :)
@stealthkiller2107 Oh God, no kidding! Alot of the teens around my neighborhood and most of the young people around my age that work or attend the church I go to dress very emo/indie-esque with fedoras, swiped, moptop hair, v necks, beanies, tight keans, all that junk.....It's not that I want all of them to start dressing gothic like I do(though it would be nice if I wasn't basically the only goth working my church), I just wish that they wouldn't dress like that.....>_
@ToughByrd : It's is a shame that your discriminated against for looking how you want to look and dressing how you want to dress. In this age of terribly low rise jeans, you seldom see or hear of anyone discriminate against people who wear their jeans low (maybe terribly low). The truth is that there is a lot of ignorance out there especially in the good ol' USA. Some people just don't have a clue about history or culture.
uhh, this isn't the 80's is it? I am from the 80's I know they didn't have degrassi or anything like this. The scene was so underground & so unaccepted by the media at all, there was no media, there were no teenage stars of any kind, it was a pretty repressed time, but we paved the way for you guys. so get some punk hair do's!
Well, I can say that things are a bit looser here in Europe but I don't think she'd get the job with that 'do even these days. I mean come on, use some sense. It's not like she couldn't tie it back or something. Dorky. Her friend's hair was far cooler, btw.
ha degrassi.... always thought the chelsea hairstyle was pretty awesome.. what a skinbyrd!!! as for the other pleaaseee save the earth and stop using hairspray.
This show looks pretty awesome :D
I loved this show. todays teenage punks have no idea what it was like to be hated like those back in the 80s when people where more closed minded.
A girl who worked at my college's student store had a hair style similar to Spike's friend in this video.
I remember This!!!, I used to watch degrassi high school when I was a small girl.

And he still does!!! XD That's why the term "hair metal" got invented!
