Can the smell of the sea impact the climate?

    Generally speaking - no, it cannot. Smell is a human sense, which itself cannot impact anything but how you perceive certain odors in your olfactory system. It is the same as to ask "can human vision impact climate". No, it cannot. It is a wrong question to ask. Moreover - individual variations in sensory perception may create a dichotomy when a distinct smell is perceived in two different ways (someone enjoys certain smells, while others find it repelling). A better, though with obvious flaws, question could be: "Can our nose help indentifying the status of the see?" But then again, I doubt that a reviewer would agree with measurement campaign results, where the main instrument was A NOSE... Sorry.
