  • Sen. Anthony Bucco (R-Morris) is calling for an independent audit of NJ Transit because, he said, not enough has been done to fix the ongoing issues plaguing the agency and commuters who use it. Other lawmakers are requesting a special legislative hearing to investigate the ongoing issues, including Sen. Declan O’Scanlon (R-Monmouth).

Why aren’t they calling for the audit of NJDOT, or the Turnpike Authority? Aren’t they also running large deficits and doing a poor job? Got to love the hypocrisy of the GOP always going after public transportation, and rail. It’s so predictable.

Republicans wondering why NJ Transit keeps getting delayed should look in the mirror. They cancelled the second Hudson River tunnel in 2010. We would have twice the train capacity into NYC by now.
