I'll be honest, I prefer what the show did with Cluemaster over how he's depicted in the comics as a Riddler ripoff with a reasonably bland personality and gimic. Even though many can see this show's take on Cluemaster to be pathetic and gross, which yes, he is, I believe that's the point of the character as I actually think it makes him make more thematic and narrative sense as a sort of reflection on what would happen to Bruce if he let his obsession for revenge/mission cloud his mind and make become as self-loathing, pathetic and waste his life just like Arthur Brown. Making Cluemaster into this twisted reflection of what obsession can do a person works better than how he was initially introduced in the comics. I wonder if Cluemaster in this show already has his daughter Stephanie Brown, aka Spoiler, who exists. I doubt it, but it would've been fun to see.
I doubt he has Stephanie brown I mean the guy most likely wasted years living with his mother and waiting for revenge so I doubt he ever did the tango let alone have the kid
I think the design of the character is amazing he’s like riddler but with obvious differences but he wasn’t really a threat he just kidnapped people who wronged him and then put them through a life or death quiz show that ended up almost killing all of the but he’s so well voice acted
A detail I appreciate is that Alfred helps Bruce figure out the mystery behind Cluemaster's kidnappings (and that the old butler enjoys game shows). It helps ground Bruce in a character sense that, much like Cluemaster, he can't possibly know everything; and in a logistical sense, as the in-universe gameshow, "Think, Thank, Thunk," was from thirty years ago, and this version of Batman is only in his mid-20's.
Good video. Cluemaster is a alright villain and his design with the mask makes him look a bit like Oogie Boogie. Also like how Batman trys to talk him out of his evil plan.
Cluemaster was created because The Riddler was dead at the time, and they wanted to leave him there. His most significant contribution is his daughter Stephanie Brown. She was the girlfriend of the third canon Robin Tim Drake for almost twenty years in real life, probably ten in comic time. She was used to explore teenage pregnancy early on, then became Robin briefly before being tortured and killed, then brought back and made Batgirl.
This is honestly the best iteration of Cluemaster for me. He is legitimately intelligent and scary when he wants to be, but his lack of emotional control and narcissism prevent him from rising as a more serious threat as he routinely misses obvious details even people who he looks down on would have caught. Like maybe picking a different location for his lair or letting Batman pick ANY question he wanted instead of a pool odf topics he could have a good chance of anwsering correctly. Literally setting *himself* up for failure. Which, tbf, is rather fitting simce everything that happened to him is entirely self-inflicted. I do sort of wish he had made one more appearance where , as would befit his obsessive personality, he shifts all his focus to discovering Batman's identity and either broadcasting it or selling it to the highest bidder.
I'm pretty sure Cluemaster was designed for this show by Dan DiDio; the guy hates Spoiler so much that I could absolutely see him telling the animation department to make her dad into a fat man-child out of spite. Also, kind of a shame that we didn't get an episode that featured both Riddler and Cluemaster. It would've been fun watching Batman be stuck between the two of them trying to prove who's the smarter criminal.
I also think clue master is a careful warning to Bruce if he becomes too obsess with the batman mission, yeah batman is doing a immense good in gothem but it also means Bruce Wayne would be very much alone, like arther he would probably waste away with only focusing with his mission and not opening up to his friends or anyone, it only in the end when he choose to play checkers with Alfred for the morning it in a way means that Bruce can at least in some degree enjoy life time to time. that at least is in my opinion to clue master episode.
Fun fact the actual twist as far as I remember is the host from the original game show actually did rig the game and did it for I think a bit more money from the girl contestant's mom or something or maybe ratings because the girl was a lot more of a pull in

Damn cluemaster's story is just sad he went from a child with so many talents and much potential, to a narcissistic revenge driven maniac just because he lost an old forgotten game show.this video was a banger
Cluemaster in the comics is the dad of one of the Batgirls! Cluemaster also 100% outwitted and outplayed Batman in Batman Eternal. Batman REFUSED to believe someone as ‘low’ as Cluemaster could be the one behind the fall of Gotham. Cluemaster destroyed it over months. Batman only won because Owlman comes and murders Cluemaster last second, then gets jumped by all Batman’s allies a bit later. But, over the course of like 50 issues, Cluemaster had defeated Batman and Gotham. Never realized this character was Cluemaster!
It’s called Peter Pan syndrome for Cluemaster and it’s odd that he looks like Oogie Boogie from the Nightmare before Christmas and the guy who voices the Mayor in the movie.
As other people have mentioned, in the comics, Cluemaster has a daughter named Stephanie Brown who was pretty popular, having become a Hero called Spoiler to ruin her father's crime sprees when he was cured of his compulsion to leave Clues but carried on with his life of crime, all because of him ruining her and her mother's lives. She wound up becoming the primary love interest of Tim Drake, as well one of the Robins and Batgirls. She also appeared in shows such as Young Justice, Batwoman, Gotham Knights, Kite Man Hell Yeah, and even Batman Caped Crusader. Cluemaster appearing in Gotham Knights and Batwoman alongside her.
i am never a fan when writer the riddler as a killer i always felt that more clue master things and this is good ep to showcase cluemaster even if not 1 to 1 comic loyal like alot of the batman
i never really liked this version of the caracther. He was not just a spoiled brat, but also he was not a menace. even his minios were more treathing then him.
Sad part is that I think that Cluemaster should've made at least one more episode appearance, excluding any cameos of course. And I personally believe that if hypothetically Cluemaster returned, he would become obsessed with the identity of The Batman.
I can't say 'The Batman's version of Cluemaster is my favorite - I don't really have a favorite; he hasn't appeared in much - but I do appreciate him for being distinctive. The original character was just a low-rent Riddler knockoff whose main claims to fame were completely abandoning his theme, and being the father of Stephanie Brown, AKA Spoiler. The one from 'The Batman' is just so WEIRD that I do find myself wishing certain aspects of him would make their way into the mainstream - they might finally make the character interesting again beyond simply being the deadbeat crook dad of a superhero.
Cluemaster's story is one that has a fairytale beginning then just goes into a downward spiral that he can't come back from. A genius who knows basically everything he's asked about is something that is very rare and extremely lucky. It's really sad how he can't leave his childhood behind because he can't accept someone being smarter than him.
Wheel Batman Caped Crusader redesign and changed its rogues, The Batman did this first followed by Beware The Batman but its changes were complicated. I am still not satisfied by having Mr Freeze be a pure evil theif, Cluemaster here is one of my favorite The Batman villains. He's pathetic and he is despicable because he reminds me of those self righteous jerks. Unlike The Riddler who was a jolly egomaniac in BTAS, Cluemaster was more devious and more wrathful. Cluemaster should've had more episodes in my opinion and I wished they could've had more stories surrounding his obssession of vengeance. He could've hosted a new game show or try to have people get caught in clues. Maybe create escape rooms that will endanger civilians if Batman does not solve them. It sucks because I enjoy this Cluemaster take than the comic version who was The Riddler rip off. Overall I wished we see more of Cluemaster because he could've been easily The Batman's best main rogues.
The show take its own liberties and reinterpret the concept, pretty far for comic version. He returned to be unstable after stay dead for a while and being resurrected for the Lazarus planet events, to de point he collaborate with Shiva to kipnnaping in a twisted attempt to reconciliate their respective daughters(both were sharing the Batgirl identity with Barbara Gordon and working as a team), he was the more ruthless of said team up but we'll was affected for the side effects of the Lazarus pit/resin(I don't remember exactly what of the 2).
