Ive been trying a few off meta picks recently and absolutely fell in love with Ornn Jungle. Such a fun champion to play and the abillity to make items in lane helps so much in the jungle.
Dude, I had the exact same idea two weeks ago! Ornn jungle works very well and I completely obliterated a Diamond 2 Lee Sin with a score of 10/1. I won pretty much every skirmish in the jungle and ganking works surprisingly well with the help of Ornn's ultimate. My rune page sounds very troll, but trust me when I say that Phase Rush is one of the best choices. It will provide a lot of stickpower because you can still chase them down while your abilities are getting off cooldown again.
thats why i store my pee in bottle to ensure that is dont drink my own pee. i have atleast 300 bottles of pee stored. my pee cabinet is pretty famous in my neighbourhoood
This player sees League of Legends in a way that I wish more people did. Their ability to adapt and change so many things about their build depending on the match up is honestly inspiring. This person really *thinks* about the game and it's incredible.
It´s normal alot of players are just young and haven´t got any critical thinking being conditioned to guides for runes and items and being content. It´s the same as voting or picking an opinion to have people just follow by nature

Was my main a long time ago. Took a break for a couple years. Came back about a year ago and ran some bot games getting used to all the controls/key bindings/fav champs/etc. One of my earliest normals after that upon returning, I played Maokai top into a Darius. It absolutely destroyed my desire to play him. I still haven't really gotten over it, but this video certainly helped!
I swear half of league is people playing champions wrong until they see a youtube video, I'll still see people max range maokai ult and it hurts my soul everytime.

The thing is, Maokai isn't that fun to play. The only real fun you get from playing him is chain ccing people for a stupid amount of time with your abilities and incredible sustain. Don't get me wrong I find that absolutely hilarious but it's not the case for most people, playing tank in general doesn't really appeal to people.

Had one today in mid. He got destroyed early by the enemy Heimer since Maokai can’t really do anything against the constant push. Lost 3 towers mid by 20 min. Still, the lockdown cc plus the tankyness he has won us the game. Cool setup but as all not meta picks a bit weird for me. But hey it gave me some sweet +16 lp.
Good video. Thanks for sharing. It's not so much about the champion Maokai though. It's about the player. He has a great foundation in terms of game knowledge and mechanics. The way he moves, uses skills, dodges skills, makes quick decisions on what to do shows how experienced he is. Really great stuff. Watching this I was thinking to myself, he could play many other mid or top laners and would just as well reach Master. I understand that this video is to inspire other players to try Maokai as well, but don't expect the same results as seen in this video. The player is very experienced.
Point n' click cc is just hillarious. Already in season 5 I always loved playing nautilus into Master yi, zed, ezreal or riven. Nowadays Camille is pretty much my favourite champion in the game, and there are few things more satisfying than ulting someone hyper-mobile.

Little trick that I remembered while watching at 4:08. Roaming is always risky because enemy laner can just ping where you are going and then u get nothing while lossing minions mid, so what you can do in order to somewhat ignore that is to go to the side which you *won't* roam to while enemy has vision on you (in this scenario it was bot), then when enemy loses vision on you you can go to the other side which will you *will* roam to and start doing so. The enemy will probably ping where he last saw you go and it will be pretty unexpected to see you on the other side. Hope this helps a bit even though it's a small tip.
@@FenrirAlter I don't think so. Dopa did/ and is still doing this strat with TF when he roams. Said so even on his stream many times that this strat is great for mind games. Also the Maokai did this in the video himself

Maokai is a great champ. People say he's easy, but he's actually deep. He goes oom quick and has to make every skill count. If W isn't used to dodge things in lane he will get poked out. Maok carried me from silver4 to gold3

i mean, using the maokai ult at an angle was something i thought of when i used him to climb into gold for the first time last year. it just made sense for the all in combos, tho when you miss it looks hella jank. it's a good trick tho
Oh man, how the times have changed since this video. In Season 14, Maokai stood as the most oppressive champion in the game with a 55% win-rate. People just needed time to see the strengths of his ultimate.

I just don't like how they remade Maokai passive to work on abilities that hit him instead of abilities cast in his general vicinity. He used to be so good against ability spammers like Yasuo since you always have your passive up.

I picked up Maokai a few months ago (support) and after about a week I learned the ult trick, and let me tell you it is a game changer.
That maokai ult trick is quite well known for people who play him, but it often catches people off guard and is super useful

Doesn't really work with a slow champ like maokai. Works great with champs like twitch akshan or twitch.
