Hazard really carried us this season. Sarriball didn't change much, which is why teams found ways to nullify it by mid season. Season 2 would have had some rough results. Maybe that would have evolved Sarri into being less predictable, or he'd have been sacked by November. Who knows. If he came back now, maybe it'd be different because he's evolved with some more experience. Lazio is doing well. But, again, Italy is a slower league with lower fitness levels, so the analysts would have to do some work.
I always liked Sarri but the more I look back, I realise just how good he was. This was what you could actually call a project. Years of defensive football with Mourinho and Conte. 2 years before Sarri were always 3 at the back. Then Sarri came in and it was 433 possession football every week. We started the season strong and tailed off midway through before finishing fairy decently in the end. 3rd in the league with over 70 points. League cup runners up (deserved to win the final as well) and Europa league winners. Only team ever to win the Europa league unbeaten in every game. Only lost one league game at home all year. Knocked Liverpool out the league cup at anfield and should've beat them at home in the league a few days later. Ended city's invincible dreams and this was back when city and Liverpool were getting just under 100 points. All this and his team was poor. Hazard and Kante carried this team hard. This team was our worst in the Abramovich era imo. The year later was actually better with all the loaned players coming back like Abraham, Mount, Tomori and James. Sarri is also the only ever Chelsea manager to do two things. Seemingly lose the dressing room midway through the season but recover and get it back. And smash a team in a final. The beginning of Chelsea's Possesion Football until today.
Exactly
If only Alonso was as good as driving as he was hitting the post
We were so predictable man....had to depend alot on Hazard and some individual brilliance
Isn't individual brilliance supposed to bring about unpredictability?
@@israelagbeja9348 I meant our tactics ,playing style
@@arkysonlaitthma726 Under Sarri they scored 112 goals in a season. More goals then Mourinho, Conte and Tuchel’s era. Are you sure they were predictable?
Only 3 things destroy sarri, not having a clinical striker, not playing odoi and lotus cheek more in epl , and kepa being his no1
Hazard carry this season for sure
I really miss these moments
Alonso was different gravy under Sarri. What a player. We were stupid to let him go. Now look at us, got Cucurella of all players 😂
My God! As a spurs fan what a team Chelsea was at that time.
Morata, Hazard, Alonso, Giroud, Pedro, Willian, prime Barkley, David Luiz, Kante, Higuain, young Jorjinho. And your owner Todd is dragging your club into the mud 😂😂😂. I'm here after Mauricio Pocchetinho's sacking.
I hope Mudryk brings back what Hazard brought. What a player he was for us. Wizard
Playing him with CuCu he can't even get a chance!
Let Potter leave this Talented team!
@@geedisvr2637 he wasn’t tracking back to help Cucu. Cucu found him alone vs Coufal and Bowen. That’s my only reason why
I never understand why alonso never had a chance to play 9. He can't defend but always good at attack
I could remember vividly that game against Bournemouth,oh my God I couldn't sleep my guys didn't allow me to rest
everytime i see Hazard, I tear Up A Bit, He Was A True Blue
Prime Kante, Jorginho. Hazard, Pedro and Alonso still fine. Azpi and Willian so good. Only need a good striker and goalkeeper.
Smoking man with brilliant tactics & also Moments Kepa don't want get changed 😂😂😂😅
Kepa's short reach cost us a lot of point this season.
Same way Torres would look back at his Liverpool days in utter disbelief, Hazard will reflect on his Chelsea days. What a deity he was in the blue colour!
Torres at Chelsea was more good than many people believe . More than goals he made a lot of assist and very good plays. The truth is that from his knee ingiury he wasn't the same. Was his choice and was the price that he paid to refuse fix the problem to go to the WC10.
man i remember not liking morata but to see some of the goals he scored for us and then compare it to how havertz is currently
Morata scored more goals than timo Werner..
@@GardenDoctorTrevthey should have given him enough time he will improve surely just like benzema at Real Madrid first
Looking at William and Pedro and then I think that we got Mudryk for 80mn and Pulisic for 58mn I feel like crying.
one of the best videos i have watched in years, COYBS!!!!!!!!!
we were literally a Curtous and Costa away from Winning the league. Kepa was average at best that year and Morata never hit the ground running. got frozen half way through the season because he did not want to play for CFC anymore. and the who sideway passing by Jorginho. man, i wish we never bought Jorginho and played Fabregas more that year.
I miss Hazard, Alonso, Pedro, Willian, Luiz, ..All superstars with great smiles and character
Eden Hazard, he went through them as if they weren't there. Still missing this player. Should have stayed! Hope Mudryk gives us this.
Marcos Alonso what a left-back we had😊
Bruh to think we sold him for Cucurella 😢
@@kushmanbillick328 😂😂
The last time that Chelsea actually played football.
We were sooo good under Sarri. And yet we still didn't have a consistent striker. Morata was iffy and Giroud was a lil up n down with great moments.
We went from Hazard,Pedro, willian to Ziyech,Pulisic,Havertz 😭😭 we fell off badly!
Yeah sure but the second ones won u the chl the first didnt
Lol tell that to your ucl trophy
Also Fabergas > Jorginho
Hate or love Alonso. But Marcos Alonso was a true blue. His left foot was always on point. Respect Marcos Alonso
7:05 those were the moments. and Rudi
Watching this from February '23 to remind myself what Chelsea scoring goals looks like
Sometimes I feel like we took this team and manager for granted
😢we did
Experience forwards bring you goals..now we are just trusting the process
He left because our investment in our defence was crap. When we lost 6-0 man city we had a back 4 of rudiger david luiz alonso and azpi.
Loftus played his best football under Sarri
Chelsea not lose at europa league under sarri, is it a best history for chelsea and sarri for the first time get the trophy
I remembered sarri staring at his 1st medal you can see it meant a lot to him.
People slept on Alonso. He’s the most underrated.
Back when we actually had a system . we used to score 3-4 goals against weak teams now either we draw or getting thrashed by them . i'm sick of back 3 with defensive minded football.
Now we have tools SARRI must come back
This was when chelsea players were men not these boys..😢
We were not very good. The whole strategy was to pass the up the field and give the ball to Hazard, the system brought out the best in him, yes but did not much else for the team.
won europa league tho
@@batjexx3286 Yes and Hazard was the reason for that, not Sarri. He literally had 2 goals and an assist in the final. One of the rare instances where the team won the coach a trophy, not the other way round.
And now sarri upgraded lazio with his tactical. And juventus started to fall after sarri left them. So just give some respect to sarri bro
@@syahmi3411 yessirrrrr
@@syahmi3411 Lol big difference between Serie A and Premier League, if you did not get that by watching Chelsea destroy Juventus last year and Milan this year, then you probably think Sarri is the greatest thing since sliced butter.
Also another reason he will never get the respect is because he bailed on us the second he had the chance to go back to Italy.
The amount of time we hit the bar, esp Alonso is Criminal.
Yessss😢
Those were the days when you were mighty proud to be a Chelsea fan! Now...😢
