A summary of my experience with this building:
    1. I was best friends with the son of the manager of the arcade 1989 to 1992
    2. I've been in the flat at the rear of the building
    3. I was bitten by a Doberman in the flat
    4. I've met Mr Fletcher at his huge house. Went to repair his washing machine a few years back. He was very ill at the time
    5. That's St. Mary's C of E primary school in the background that I attended 1986 to 1989
    Lots of memories!

Didn't know the history of this building, great vlog. In the 80s the back of the arcade still had the stage. There were pinball tables lined up in front.
Guess you don't remember the crazy golf and putting green where the play park is now? They were run by Penwith Council.

Can’t place the crazy golf. Maybe if I had guided meditation!!

@theBriceSide Awww, it was incredible. They even had coin-operated battery kiddie cars that went around the crazy golf. My first experience of driving 😆

@theBriceSide 1970s through to 80s. I remember the crazy golf being 10p and the putting 5p. They also had a putting green run by the council on Newlyn green by the bowls club.
Just tried finding pics online but can't find any. Feeling old now! 😆

@@hazza5999I was born in the 70s, grew up in 80s. Maybe I didn’t particularly pay any notice. 😢

The building opposite the laundry use to be a toilet block

The little building used to be public toilets. As far as I know it's now used by Cormac to keep signs, barriers etc in. Which seems like a crying shame for such an ornate building. I remember Fletcher's, the entrance was there on the right, as you say. They used to do a hot pork sandwich which sounds amazing but turned out to be a huge anticlimax when you realised that it was caked in the most mayonnaise you've ever seen in your life

Good info. Yes, it is a shame if Cormac are using it.

“I’ve just found a Relic”😂 that made me laugh. Another historic place of interest in pz(5 chapel street) Bookshop next door to the Egyptian building, featured in ITV’s Wycliffe. The last time I went past it, it had the exact same window stands etc in it that it did in the show,The whole series currently on ITV player. Episode The cycle of death features a few places around pz. That shop and another one just down from it were used. If you Google Wycliffe pz, there’s one of the exterior shots of the bookshop during filming 👍
