Thank you A24. In a world of remakes, reboots, sequels, and just generally unoriginal films you stand as a beacon of hope for innovation.
It's not the 'world' making 'remakes, reboots, sequels and just generally unoriginal films'. It's very isolated corporate studios. There's a 'world' making fresh, challenging, high quality films every year. Just as there's droves of musical acts making music far better than what's on generic corporate Billboard stations. You just have to seek it out. But it's very much worth it. Check out film makers from Bulgaria, Japan, Latvia, Argentina, Ireland, and other smaller countries as well as more indy sources in the U.S, UK, France, and other larger nations.
@@kevinlakeman5043but it's the world that doesn't go out to see them, doesn't look for them at home, doesn't seek them out at all.
@@kevinlakeman5043 I generally agree with your sentiment but found what you said here to be both rude and very unhelpful for OC.
Maybe name some specific filmmakers you think are worth checking out or something - naming countries like this isn't helpful for most people
There are hundreds of amazing original indie and small budget films every single year. Just because there’s blockbusters with more sequels and reboots doesn’t mean nothing is original lol, that’s such an overreaction
@@ExtracreditttttRude? Nothing rude about it. The original comment was lame and uniformed. I find it very hypocritical of you, to also claim the comment was "unhelpful", while literally being "unhelpful" yourself, since I had to Google the meaning of "OC". Why didn't you simply write "original content"? Not very inclusive, now, is it?

Gematria Effect News is literally in the back ground it sounds just like one of his live streams that I remember being present in and these are his same exact talking points about Sleepless in Seattle and Tom Hanks being the First to get Covid in Seattle VERY STRANGE times indeed.
Huh? Tom Hanks got covid in Australia.
💯💯💯💯
I really liked his first features, but after „Beau is afraid“ I will watch everything this fantastic lunatic puts out. Let‘s go!
This looks like it'll be Aster's most thoroughly modern film to date.
I’d argue it’s a period film being that it wants to focus specifically on pandemic politics.
How so?
WHEN ITS SPECIFICALLY SET IN THE PAST ?
@@robonick3607 You’re right, it’s 100% a period film, and yet it feels the most rooted in contemporary times. His other films, while theoretically taking place in the present, are less anchored to the present as a time period. In being a period film it becomes more viscerally modern.

What's crazy is that my mom recently passed, and I've been making frequent trips to the cemetery to lay flowers. While walking through the small town cemetery, I was struck at how many gravestones were relatively recent additions: May 2020, July 2020, September 2020. COVID steamrolled my parents' small town and nobody ever talks about it, like everyone just collectively memory-holed it.
