  • Jim and I discuss his nursing background, nurse practitioner school choice/experience, np clinicals, job acquisition, and onboarding as a new provider. I love Jim's take on school selection and how to make tough decisions. He also talks about what it's like starting as a new grad nurse practitioner working in interventional radiology.

There is any similar job or role as interventional radiologist related to cardiac, like working at cath lab as NP? Any recommendations?

In my experience cath labs don’t utilize APPs much. When they do they tend to be PAs. Typically (again, in my experience) APPs on these teams do all of the pre and post cath lab care instead. Now, this could very likely include stabilizing and managing profoundly sick people on mechanical support devices, multiple drips, etc. and can be quite rewarding if you like the “buzz.”
