Quite possibly the best singer ever. I've listened to recordings of the best for the past 50 years. Very possible that Antoine is the very best ever. He's certainly the very best rags to riches story and the most humble, most caring, most human performer I've ever seen.

What always broke my heart is that this guy was obviously madly in love with the girl he starred with on America's got Talent but she was clearly not interested in him at all and just wanted to ride in on his coat tails for the fame.
John Denver would be ecstatic on hearing this young man and his arrangement of Country Road .
He takes me to another place where I find a peace I have never felt before.

By far the most outstanding version of this song I have ever heard, John Denver had his own unique folkstyle delivery and was a master, But Jonathon Antonne 's classical version is like an Eagle majestically soaring over the mountains and the oceans shores. What a beautiful person and voice with a kind heart!!!

The things that amaze me are that he seems to sing effortlessly (never forced) whoever arranges the songs he sings seems to have a terrific understanding of how powerful and pure his voice projects and wonderfully pure his tone and delivery are and how his sincerity and interpretation of the lyrics take a song to a level that is so rarely heard and the fact that he sings in any genre is such a treat.
And likely able to produce any style fabulously.

As a native born Mountaineer, Country Roads has been a favorite since it was introduced. This is, by far, the best version. I invite Jonathan Antoine to explore the Mountain State for himself. He will soon discover the majesty of a mountain home, applies to "home", wherever that may be. That, of course, is the reason an anthem about a small, oft overlooked state is so universally accepted. It's all about home. Jonathan is an accomplished artist. I'm sure he would enjoy seeing West Virginia first hand.
How is it that a lad from London can make an old American like me cry over a song about going home to West Virginia, when I've never even been there? That's really going the distance!

I was a Denver fan, and this song always made me feel homesick for Nova Scotia/Cape Breton. We all have a place that we keep in our heart, no matter how far we go or for how long, it's the home of our hearts.

Can’t stop smiling at this glorious voice. It’s hard to believe this confident, extremely talented man is the same timid boy we first met on Britain’s Got Talent in 2012. The way he holds the stage with both his commanding presence and his wonderful voice is just breathtaking.
I so agree with your comment. Back then when he sang on BGT - the judges were very cynical and almost mocked him - he has shown them how great he is.
I hope that Johnathan still remembers how much support that Charlotte gave him in the early years, although they have now gone their own separate ways

Yes. He was at his lowest point. I can't imagine him being that low. If Charlotte hadn't convinced him to get on that stage. The rest is history. They got him help..look at that shinning face.

I am amazed by him. This is a song that will be played a lot when it comes to spotify! So good to post the tictoc at the start and then he comes in and kills it. Outstanding voice! I love his vibrato too, creates real power to the song. Fabulous!
Another intresting fact is that I participated during World Scout Jamboree 2019 in West Virginia. This song was played even more than the song written for the Jamboree.
I was raised with the voice of caruso played constantly. That's how old I am. Johnathan is right up there with all the greats.

I have followed Jonathan ever since his (and Charlotte's) audition on BGT, and never in a million years did I think he would ever sing a classic American country song like this one. However, he not only sang it, he delivered an amazing performance with a fantastic arrangement in the process. Everyone has always said that "Jonathan has an opera voice," and that's true, but he has demonstrated that he can sing almost any song and make it great with that unbelievable voice of his. I'm so glad that he is finally getting the exposure and recognition he deserves, and I am definitely going to buy his new album.
Jonathan was once asked what he sings around the house, he answered "Kiss from a Rose" and "Country Roads". this was a few years ago. Have you heard him sing "Compass" filmed at these same sold out Toronto concerts, it's here on UA-cam. We have his new CD "Going the Distance" it's Great. Wait till you here track 12. "Nessun Dorma" it's Stunning!!!

Watching this while quarantined due to getting covid and just crying even though it hurts my throat. This is one of my favorite songs and to hear Jonathan's beautiful voice singing it while dedicating it to the pandemic just makes me emotional. Then again, most of Jonathan's songs make me emotional, so that's not exactly new. I will NEVER not be impressed by that sheer amount of God-given talent. Absolutely incredible.
