Yeah this is similar to Honkai Impact 3rd combat system. If you already familiar with HI3, will be easy to jump in. Basically you just chaining attack between your characters. Pretty fun if you like this kind of play.
Chaining attacks is Genshin. HI3rd's combat is a dance, where you need to actually let the enemy attack you so you can trigger your evasions and build for ultimates in the shortest time possible.

I wish it had a coop. I started playing genshin because of coop but it turned out to be awful, i've heard they had even worse coop in honkai 3rd, so i wanted to see them expand it in their next game but they completely removed coop from Star Rail and looks like this one lacks it too. Sad

To this date most studios are coming out with games based on Hi3, like Aether Gazer. In 2-3 years every studio gonna come out with it's Genshin-like concept. SR and this game does nothing new however. These are existing concepts recycled to cover even more grounds for money. Nothing more. Wuthering Waves is gonna be the next level of mobile gaming. If you follow the game's development you know it's pretty much a live service Elden Ring with anime style. It's combat, openworld and boss design are by far in their own leauge. Nothing comes close enough even to mention as a possible opponent. I just hope it's end game is gonna be good and time consuming. Looking at the Dark Souls level boss design they have, they should build the end game around dungeons and bosses.

They took inspiration from pgr and that's just truth.
After taking a look at ZZZ I have to admit it seems very.... "zzz" 😴 I absolutely love puzzles, mini-games and rogue-like, but the TV-thing is way too basic and out of place. Combat is too basic as well, and knowing Hoyo, I doubt it will get much depth since they tend to cater to the casual side and never add much challenge. I'd rather play PGR or keep waiting for WW. Very sad that in the banners and other aspects they seem to be just copy-pasting the old Hoyo-formula too. Since they've been taking so long on preparing this game and doing multiple tests, I expected at least something different. My bar was already low and I still feel disappointed. The only problem I have with Pgr is that new contents doesn't feel like new contents. The game feel absolutely dead during A ranks patchs not anymore since they replaced A rank patches with uns patches but aside from getting the new characters, events and stuffs are so boring. The combat is really good but that''s all it have. I hope WW would be a bit more than an open world pgr.

This is quite a big dissapointment for me. I was really hoping they would have cut down the TV minigame from the CBT1, but it seems like it's still mostly TV puzzle minigame with short 2 min combat stages. Feels like 80% puzzle 20% combat, which seem incredibly easy, like turn your brain off easy. This really looks like Honkai Impact 3rd but with a different theme. The short stages in Hi3d were ok because it was an old game and back then phones couldn't handle much more, but man... spending so much time in menus, loading in and out of combat... feels bad.
You complain that you can turn off your brain when solving puzzles with tv's, but at the same time you suggest making the game a regular slasher, where you turn off your brain and hitting out opponents for ten hours in a row.
@broccoli5176 Bro, that's not a "slasher issue", that's a game issue. If zzz's combat is apparently that boring, that's its own fault, not action rpg's in general. Even then, pgr and hi3 seem to be more action packed than this right now, and that's because both game's have cracked the formula for engaging combat. Aggressive enemies, a combat system which forces you to think in the moment and adjust based on what you have, distinguished roles for every character, and a good chunk of endgame content to back it up. Zzz seems like you're done combat for the day when your run out of stamina, the enemies ai is kinda pathetic since they attack once in a blue moon, and you just spam basic attack for 90% of gameplay till you get a ex special attack or stagger an enemy. Even with the characters, there's only 1 damage support in the entire game, 0 healers, and the rest are dps characters.

I couldn't care less about the puzzle gameplay, so I wasn't considering that. I don't want it to just be about mowing down useless enemies for hours either, that's my main complain. I wan't to be engaged in combat from the start of the game, having to actually play good to survive, even against the normal enemies. I really really dislike that type of slasher gameplay you described, I want a challenge where I have to actually pay attention to my enemies and react and learn.
I'm also worried about this plus the fact that I don't know what the content looks like outside of story and presumably gear farming. However I did see another youtuber who's gotten a bit further than others say that there is significantly more combat and less tv time in chapter 2 of the game and that it might be an early game thing.

Watching that and a few other people trying out the beta, I really don't like that labyrinth board thing. It looks tedious and annoying and I feel like it will hamper my enjoyment of the game overall. Beyond that, the game looks amazing, but I don't want to invest most of my time in a game like this moving across little panel pieces on a board. Without that feature, I'd say this looks like one that could become one of my new main games

yea the boardgame is meh. it breaks immersion. reminds me of counter side where they actually had to take the chessboard style out of the game since it was annoying. otherwise looks decent enuff. they should remove it .
The puzzle thing is a bit of a stretch for me. Hope they would do it only for the story. This remind me of BA and why I feel lazy to do campaign missions since moving my team from place to place is taking longer than the fight itself.
Combat looks fine, fast paced with potential for really good battles. But now it's like 1min fight - > 30 min talking heads \ minigames -> 5 min menu bs - > 1min fight -> repeat. Soooo fun.
Try aether gazer or pgr then, they seem to have a bigger focus on combat. But otherwise, yeah I agree with you. I hope they could improve it before release, but I doubt that.
Tbh it looks fine. Surely Wuthering Waves still has a massive upper hand but the game reminds me of Bayonetta (kinda) with its first person shoot and slash gimmicks, which is really great tbh. I was excited for ZZZ back in my days of playing HI3, but rn I don't even know if I'll give Hoyo a chance again. I am playing too many gachas at that moment and ZZZ looks kinda bland. Idk, maybe gameplay gonna be deeper than what I've seen already, rn it doesn't seems worth the time. Character design also can't compete with Nikke and Blue Archive so yeah. At least it seems better than generic 3 models that genshin and star rail uses?
Can you give me a heads up what new game would be great to try? I love genshin for open world exploration and that you can really use your characters outside the combat, but the baby settings and censorship is trash. Star rail has really nice end game gameplay and characters are more mature, but few locations, where there is almost nothing to do makes it feel like you trapped in a box.
@@RavenShugo well, at that moment I don't play any open world/semi-open world gachas If you want to have similar experience to Genshin (open world, running around with your characters outside combat), then you probably have to wait and try out three upcoming gachas that will probably be released next year. First is Wuthering Waves: open world, exploration, geared towards endgame with cool boss fights. It had beta test.. maybe half a year ago? Second: Arknights Endfield. Not an action combat but more of RTS with semi-open world and base building (Factoria moment). It had beta test last week so you can look up the footage by some youtubers like KyostinV. Third: Project Mugen. We don't know much about it, but you can look up official trailers. It looks quite fun with more lively urban setting and some spiderman webs mechanics lol. And if you are not only asking about gachas, then I'd recommend JRPG "Tales of" series.

Watching that and a few other people trying out the beta, I really don't like that labyrinth board thing. It looks tedious and annoying and I feel like it will hamper my enjoyment of the game overall. Beyond that, the game looks amazing, but I don't want to invest most of my time in a game like this moving across little panel pieces on a board. Without that feature, I'd say this looks like one that could become one of my new main games

yea the boardgame is meh. it breaks immersion. reminds me of counter side where they actually had to take the chessboard style out of the game since it was annoying. otherwise looks decent enuff. they should remove it .

The puzzle thing is a bit of a stretch for me. Hope they would do it only for the story. This remind me of BA and why I feel lazy to do campaign missions since moving my team from place to place is taking longer than the fight itself.

is there controller support? star rail has phenemonal in genshin I have never been able to get controller to work on pc.
Combat looks fine, fast paced with potential for really good battles. But now it's like 1min fight - > 30 min talking heads \ minigames -> 5 min menu bs - > 1min fight -> repeat. Soooo fun.

Tbh it looks fine. Surely Wuthering Waves still has a massive upper hand but the game reminds me of Bayonetta (kinda) with its first person shoot and slash gimmicks, which is really great tbh.
But then again if you dont like puzzles then dont bother. I still have nightmares about Portal 2 with its shitty logic puzzles nonsenses that took days to solve... So yeah Wuthering Waves def has won me over especially over ZZZ I mean it is cool cyberpunk style awesome hack and slash and shooting... But cant you just play Bayonetta instead? And if you really like cyberpunk wouldnt 2077 be like league above what this is?
Tbh ZZZ's only gimmick is that it is an android game. BUT even then I am pretty sure there is a way for you to play 2077 on android devices so... Irdk bout this tbh seems pretty silly to compare this with Wuthering Waves for me, which is vastly better on many aspects bar the tedious minigames.

I was excited for ZZZ back in my days of playing HI3, but rn I don't even know if I'll give Hoyo a chance again.
I am playing too many gachas at that moment and ZZZ looks kinda bland. Idk, maybe gameplay gonna be deeper than what I've seen already, rn it doesn't seems worth the time. Character design also can't compete with Nikke and Blue Archive so yeah. At least it seems better than generic 3 models that genshin and star rail uses?
Can you give me a heads up what new game would be great to try? I love genshin for open world exploration and that you can really use your characters outside the combat, but the baby settings and censorship is trash. Star rail has really nice end game gameplay and characters are more mature, but few locations, where there is almost nothing to do makes it feel like you trapped in a box.

If you want to have similar experience to Genshin (open world, running around with your characters outside combat), then you probably have to wait and try out three upcoming gachas that will probably be released next year.
First is Wuthering Waves: open world, exploration, geared towards endgame with cool boss fights. It had beta test.. maybe half a year ago?
Second: Arknights Endfield. Not an action combat but more of RTS with semi-open world and base building (Factoria moment). It had beta test last week so you can look up the footage by some youtubers like KyostinV.
Third: Project Mugen. We don't know much about it, but you can look up official trailers. It looks quite fun with more lively urban setting and some spiderman webs mechanics lol.
And if you are not only asking about gachas, then I'd recommend JRPG "Tales of" series.

So you like new better, but there a lot of people who loved the old size. The point is that if hoyo gonna nerf/censor it anyway - why even make them so big in the first place?
