- Pageant prep just got kicked up a notch. Today I'm sharing a little beauty pageant haul ahead of the Ms Galaxy UK pageant, including a gifted collaboration from JJ's House. I also took my niece on a ghost tour of St Fagan's in Cardiff with Dark Wales Tours and got to see Disney on Ice. What a freaking week! your horror tour story had me cackling. the blue sparkles and teal is stunning on you! also the white party dress has such an ethereal fairy thing going on omg. and YES! trying on clothes is exhausting!
I’m going to look into how much it will cost to alter them because they’re so pretty! And the white dress 😍 It looked so good at the party under the lights!
Former pageant girl here - always have room in budget and time for alterations. I know that was not a possibility this time. But most dresses need some tweaks and a well fitted dress can make or break your success! Can’t wait to hear how it all went!
Absolutely! The dress I ended up buying at the last minute needed a lot taken off the length. Luckily, the seamstress was incredible and got it done as a rush order. I’m so short it’s impossible to find an evening wear dress that fits off the rack 🙈
I cannot imagine your frustration with the level of customer 'service' from those companies, how awful. Still you look fabulous in the dresses you are going to wear and kudos to you for not giving up! More importantly, ENJOY the pageant, you'll have a blast! Can't wait to hear about it xx
From here on out, I think I’ll try to buy things in person 😂 Even my shoes, which I paid extra for next day delivery on, came late and arrived as we were packing up the car to leave! 🙈 It all came together in the end though and I had the best time!
That Mister Miyagi comment is why yours is my favorite channel, Aimee 😂 Excited and rooting for you on the pageant! I love the white and dark blue dresses too. And I'm adding that St. Fagan's tour to my future Wales itinerary.

What a disaster with the dresses! Glad that you managed to sort it out and that your mom'd talked you out of dropping from the pageant. 2-3 months should be plenty for a dress to arrive, I'm thinking that perhaps they did take more orders than they're able to fullfill or had some unforseen circumstances in the supply or manufacturing chain. Hope that you'll get the dark evening gown altered, it looks stunning on you 😉

The dress you were wearing with your shoes when you almost fell, is very nice on you. The pink dress is washing you out a little so no regret… I was wondering if you couldn’t use a beautiful tie(like a long scarf or a bow) at the waist on the last dress so it won’t look too big on you?
Obviously this company is not reliable, that’s terrible, it made me feel anxious and it’s not even about me!
I totally agree. Pale pink really isn’t my colour but there were limited choices in their ready to ship range. The bright pink is definitely more flattering on me I think ☺️
My stress levels that week were through the roof! 😂 I already had a feeling the JJs House dresses wouldn’t fit because my waist to hip ratio isn’t “standard” (whatever that means) but when I found out the others from Glamlora weren’t even coming…I lost it! 🙈
Those dress brands sound very unreliable! You ordered the dresses with plenty of "backup" time and still... they failed to deliver 😒
For one to go wrong would be stressful enough but when both said the orders wouldn’t be ready, it pushed me over the edge! 🙈
