I am glad you guys announced it "I am pregnant" however I knew in earlier videos that Manpreet is pregnant, so happy to guess right and finally you announced it as well. Such an adorable and soul touching vlog, I was literally getting goosebumps when you both were talking. Many many congratulations to both of you, I am really happy for both of you and to your families. I will pray to god that baby stays healthy & Manpreet as well. Congratulations guys! We had a beautiful baby girl this march and also managed the complete pregnancy alone. Make sure you take walks everyday and eat healthy food. Almonds, walnuts everyday. For strollers, graco worked good for us- uppa and nuna seemed hype. More so get a bassinet instead of crib for the initial months, really helps in night feed. Do get breast pump- helps alot and must have. It really helped in starting time as our baby was not taking mother’s milk.

Many many congratulations!!!! Always remember as a parent whatever decision you take for your child is the best decision. I live in the UK and I sent my baby to nursery since she was 8 months old. It was so tough but now she is 18months and the development I see in her I feel so proud of my decision. One of the best buys I feel is rotating car seat, I have back issues so I started using the car seat which rotates, and it was really really useful. Don’t go for crazy expensive ones, I would say mid range are good too.
Congrats on your pregnancy! First time mom here.. baby stuff is EXPENSIVE! We bought stroller and crib from costco on sale, you can get cheap ones on Walmart too. Buy buy baby is expensive but they price match from Amazon so google items before purchasing, you’ll see where there’s sale. I know it’s hard to stop yourself but please don’t buy too many clothes for the baby. Also, if you’re having a baby shower, create a baby registry so that guests will only buy gifts from there. My baby boy just lived in footed and mittens onesies (zipper ones) don’t buy button onesies it’s hard to button up your baby’s onesie if you’re changing diaper and thats the last thing you want to do and also if they’re sleepy you want them to go back to sleep. Also buy swaddles they’re really good, you can either buy velcro ones or just traditional swaddles. My husband learnt to swaddle so we used traditional ones, for velcro ones my baby took his hands out from it so it was a waste. Only buy fancy clothes at 3 or 4 months. For first few months its just easy to dress them in a onesie and babies are also comfortable. Try to buckle a lot of car seats in store, if you go to buy buy baby they also provide a demonstration how to put your baby in the car seat. There’s a shortage of baby formula so when you’re close to your delivery, try and have formula on hand because for some ladies their breastmilk doesn’t come until 3-4 days. This is very important, I didnt even know it usually comes after few days so I was crying a lot that I won’t be able to feed my baby. This is just if you’re planning on breastfeeding, hospital usually gives you a breast pump so keep pumping until your milk comes in. DO NOT STRESS, because stress delays your breastmilk production. This is just an advice, please dont take it to heart. I know in punjabis when a baby is born grandparents say you should give honey to them but please dont do that. Honey is not given to babies till they turn one year old as its a risk on their health. I wish you all the best and smooth delivery for Manpreet💕

Congratulations. Sorry as a mother on Maternity leave , i would like to bring to your attention that Maternity benefit pay is actually 55% of your salary or a maximum of $638 a week . And yes it is taxable . As soon as you apply for maternity leave at your place of work , the HR send an ROE to the government of canada stating your income figures for the year , based on which your maternity benefit is decided .

I live in Caledon, my suggestion in regards to baby products is don’t buy cradle , invest in good stroller better if you can afford a jogger👍 then instead of cradle buy good bassinet , as you can use bassinet in your room and also u can carry it where ever you travel, cradle is expensive n once baby outgrow waste hojata hai 🙂. Please stay positive, always say sab Acha hai. Don’t say hopefully sab Acha hoga. Universe listens to what we say, vibes echo and come back to us. The moment u feel confident, things will cruise beautifully. Life is never a straight line, challenges will come. We should always say ok what is the solution instead of dwelling on the problem. Trust me this is the most easiest part of starting the family. Even though it’s a high risk pregnancy. Everything is planned by God. Just keep doing what you are doing! Once the baby is there your life changes exceptionally. Your relation between each other changes. Harmeet, some days Manpreet will sound like a different person. Please give her enough time to pass through those emotions. Do not ever question or judge her. Whenever possible, give her break to sleep even it’s for 1hr. Sleep will be the only thing that will keep her sane.

We had our daughter during COVID peak time in Toronto and had no support from family and friends- we managed with God's blessings. I am sure you will be fine too. Try and plan as many things as possible ahead of time!!
It’s so important to not ask about the pregnancy, children etc. what if someone is desperately trying to have a child but are not able to. It’s so hurtful!! People can be very inquisitive. We live in the same area as you ans just had baby a year ago. Happy to share our experiences. Let me know if you want to talk!! Happy to help!! Ok soon after delivery, hospital will be trying to get you out asap, never do the mistake of getting discharged next day pls.. act like you still need care to ensure you and the baby get the necessary care for atleast 3 days at hospital. Winter babies/c section babies have high chances of developing jaundice , we got discharged had to get admitted again since baby got jaundice. So stay at hospital to ensure everything is fine. Clearly ask from the baby’s blood test if there is even small percentage of jaundice, if it’s there STAY back. Because to get admitted again you’ll need to wait 12 hours in emergency… They will ask you to get up and try walking tell that you cannot. DO NOT get out of bed for 3 days, the moment you make an effort to walk they will discharge. Breast feeding will be tough, do not give up, don’t get tempted to feed baby bottle, baby needs to work hard and get used suckling. The moment you give bottle they will not want to put effort into breast feeding. Two most important lesson we learnt. Wanted to share even if you know!! Take care.. praying that you both get family support towards delivery .. we did it alone 😭😭😭😭 it was the toughest thing we did in our lives!! Every ultrasound ask doctor baby’s position.. it’s important for baby to be head down towards the end of pregnancy to ensure it’s not a breach baby. Doctors generally don’t communicate until the end. Better to keep asking.

As long as there are no health complications, try to work, which will give good movement and exercise, which is absolutely crucial while pregnancy. Of course, go with your doctor's recommendations. Don't hesitate to consult specialists if needed. Talk to your office staff that were pregnant to had similar complication and their doctor recommendations. Wish you all the best and release all your stress, take it easy. Enjoy every moment of your pregnancy. (BTW: There is aram chair - not like the India ones, Look for Maternity chairs in Amazon - they are so soothing for both Mom and the Baby)

Congratulations 👏👏 daycare costs about CAD 1800. 1) Expenses for kids clothing, winter clothing/attire and then outgrowing the clothes every month in the first year could be a recurring expense. Later it becomes an yearly affair. 2) Car seat - recurring expense as size would keep changing every 2 years! 3) Stroller - one time expense. 4) Crib and later bed for kid 5) Formula expenses - Optional (if not fully breastfed)
There will be a lot of anxiety around welcoming a new child esp the first into the family. But dont worry leave it in God's hands, good thing that Harpreet is staying back to be around to enjoy fatherhood and take care of Manpreet. Money will come but this time will never come so enjoy to the max. Dont buy too many strollers and gadgets, we didnt use them much at all besides kids need the touch, so better to carry them around and enjoy them. Car seat will be a must, rest is optional like stroller , baby carrier. Exciting times.

I had read in a home remedies book that after fifth month onwards, lady should drink lime juice daily. It helps to have a smooth, normal delivery. And I know of a lady who followed this and actually had a smooth first delivery, that even the doctor was surprised. Just sharing. Rest choice is yours and you can consult your doctor.
Hi guys happy happy for you 🥰🎉 And you guys did the right thing of planning pregnancy, as anybody must bring a new little human being to life only when we are very sure, of personal financial and all the other reasons ❤️ We came to Canada when our baby was 9 months old. So there have been some tough decisions that we ve made but they were necessary and trust me it turned into a good decision if I think of it now. 1. Look for a good daycare nearby and put the baby on wait-list as it takes months for a spot to open up.. usually spots open in fall and summer. 2. Daycare costs around 1000+, but that's a good expense as the kid learns so much there and the licensed daycares here are trustworthy. 3. I suggest you look at *once upon a child* store it's a pre loved kids store for everything.. I recommend buy stroller, crib etc from here(pre loved items) do not invest too much on these things as u might feel like buying a different/smaller/more comfortable ones after using. 4. Also, "daycares bring health issues for kids" is a myth, all kids are prone to season change flus etc.. so just be accepting to the fact the the kid will fall sick and we will have to take care All our love and best wishes to you guys 🎉🥰

Baby carrier is something that u may want to buy later....my child was irritated with it and we could never use it.. maybe try baby carrier at a friend's place ...if ur kid is comfortable with Carrier or not Do buy feeding pillow...that was something we passed on to another parent...it's quite useful item
Many congratulations on the pregnancy. Please trust god and all will be good. My story is very similar to yours. We moved to Canada in 2016 and decided to have the baby here. Within 8 months of moving, we got a call from india that my father in law was in the ICU. We resumed back to see him and on the second day of reaching I found out I was pregnant. It was the most toughest time for me. We stayed there for 1.5 months and everyday I was scared if I’ll have this baby fine. Now she is 5 years old ❤ Please buy kids stuff on Boxing Day. I split the list between Black Friday and Boxing Day. There were really good deals. Do not get a bassinet, it won’t be useful for long as the baby outgrows very quickly. I didn’t even buy a crib, I got a toddler bed that my daughter is still using as she’s almost 5. I bought a Graco travel system, don’t spend a lot on it. It was for $300 but I got it for $160 during Black Friday. Items I bought were travel system, bath tub, toiletries, diaper bag, feeding pillow, Philips electric breast pump, portable diaper changing mat, 5 newborn onesie, 5 onesies 0-3 months, socks, mittens, hat, nail scissors, glass feeding bottles, diapers, Kirkland baby wipes, swaddling blanket, baby towel. Don’t forget to sign up with Nestle, Enfamil, Similac, Huggies and Pampers for samples.
Congratulations and welcome to the parenthood, maternity leave is 50% of your gross income for 1 year and it is 30-35% of gross if for 18 months, there is maximum bar which is I guess $500+ per week. And now Canadian gov gives grant if your child is in daycare or day home. No family income matters, it is available for everyone unless your child is spending min 100 hours/ month in day care, which is actually a good amount. So don’t worry everything will be fine.. enjoy this most beautiful precious moment of life..👍🙏😊

For strollers, graco worked good for us- uppa and nuna seemed hype. More so get a bassinet instead of crib for the initial months, really helps in night feed. Do get breast pump- helps alot and must have. It really helped in starting time as our baby was not taking mother’s milk.

I live in the UK and I sent my baby to nursery since she was 8 months old. It was so tough but now she is 18months and the development I see in her I feel so proud of my decision.
One of the best buys I feel is rotating car seat, I have back issues so I started using the car seat which rotates, and it was really really useful. Don’t go for crazy expensive ones, I would say mid range are good too.
Congrats on your pregnancy! First time mom here.. baby stuff is EXPENSIVE! We bought stroller and crib from costco on sale, you can get cheap ones on Walmart too. Buy buy baby is expensive but they price match from Amazon so google items before purchasing, you’ll see where there’s sale. I know it’s hard to stop yourself but please don’t buy too many clothes for the baby. Also, if you’re having a baby shower, create a baby registry so that guests will only buy gifts from there. My baby boy just lived in footed and mittens onesies (zipper ones) don’t buy button onesies it’s hard to button up your baby’s onesie if you’re changing diaper and thats the last thing you want to do and also if they’re sleepy you want them to go back to sleep. Also buy swaddles they’re really good, you can either buy velcro ones or just traditional swaddles. My husband learnt to swaddle so we used traditional ones, for velcro ones my baby took his hands out from it so it was a waste. Only buy fancy clothes at 3 or 4 months. For first few months its just easy to dress them in a onesie and babies are also comfortable. Try to buckle a lot of car seats in store, if you go to buy buy baby they also provide a demonstration how to put your baby in the car seat. There’s a shortage of baby formula so when you’re close to your delivery, try and have formula on hand because for some ladies their breastmilk doesn’t come until 3-4 days. This is very important, I didnt even know it usually comes after few days so I was crying a lot that I won’t be able to feed my baby. This is just if you’re planning on breastfeeding, hospital usually gives you a breast pump so keep pumping until your milk comes in. DO NOT STRESS, because stress delays your breastmilk production. This is just an advice, please dont take it to heart. I know in punjabis when a baby is born grandparents say you should give honey to them but please dont do that. Honey is not given to babies till they turn one year old as its a risk on their health. I wish you all the best and smooth delivery for Manpreet💕

And yes it is taxable . As soon as you apply for maternity leave at your place of work , the HR send an ROE to the government of canada stating your income figures for the year , based on which your maternity benefit is decided .

Harmeet, some days Manpreet will sound like a different person. Please give her enough time to pass through those emotions. Do not ever question or judge her. Whenever possible, give her break to sleep even it’s for 1hr. Sleep will be the only thing that will keep her sane.

We had our daughter during COVID peak time in Toronto and had no support from family and friends- we managed with God's blessings. I am sure you will be fine too. Try and plan as many things as possible ahead of time!!
It’s so important to not ask about the pregnancy, children etc. what if someone is desperately trying to have a child but are not able to. It’s so hurtful!! People can be very inquisitive. We live in the same area as you ans just had baby a year ago. Happy to share our experiences. Let me know if you want to talk!! Happy to help!! Ok soon after delivery, hospital will be trying to get you out asap, never do the mistake of getting discharged next day pls.. act like you still need care to ensure you and the baby get the necessary care for atleast 3 days at hospital. Winter babies/c section babies have high chances of developing jaundice , we got discharged had to get admitted again since baby got jaundice. So stay at hospital to ensure everything is fine. Clearly ask from the baby’s blood test if there is even small percentage of jaundice, if it’s there STAY back. Because to get admitted again you’ll need to wait 12 hours in emergency… They will ask you to get up and try walking tell that you cannot. DO NOT get out of bed for 3 days, the moment you make an effort to walk they will discharge. Breast feeding will be tough, do not give up, don’t get tempted to feed baby bottle, baby needs to work hard and get used suckling. The moment you give bottle they will not want to put effort into breast feeding. Two most important lesson we learnt. Wanted to share even if you know!! Take care.. praying that you both get family support towards delivery .. we did it alone 😭😭😭😭 it was the toughest thing we did in our lives!! Every ultrasound ask doctor baby’s position.. it’s important for baby to be head down towards the end of pregnancy to ensure it’s not a breach baby. Doctors generally don’t communicate until the end. Better to keep asking.

As long as there are no health complications, try to work, which will give good movement and exercise, which is absolutely crucial while pregnancy. Of course, go with your doctor's recommendations. Don't hesitate to consult specialists if needed. Talk to your office staff that were pregnant to had similar complication and their doctor recommendations. Wish you all the best and release all your stress, take it easy. Enjoy every moment of your pregnancy. (BTW: There is aram chair - not like the India ones, Look for Maternity chairs in Amazon - they are so soothing for both Mom and the Baby)

1) Expenses for kids clothing, winter clothing/attire and then outgrowing the clothes every month in the first year could be a recurring expense.
Later it becomes an yearly affair.
2) Car seat - recurring expense as size would keep changing every 2 years!
3) Stroller - one time expense.
4) Crib and later bed for kid
5) Formula expenses - Optional (if not fully breastfed)

But dont worry leave it in God's hands, good thing that Harpreet is staying back to be around to enjoy fatherhood and take care of Manpreet. Money will come but this time will never come so enjoy to the max. Dont buy too many strollers and gadgets, we didnt use them much at all besides kids need the touch, so better to carry them around and enjoy them. Car seat will be a must, rest is optional like stroller , baby carrier. Exciting times.

I had read in a home remedies book that after fifth month onwards, lady should drink lime juice daily. It helps to have a smooth, normal delivery. And I know of a lady who followed this and actually had a smooth first delivery, that even the doctor was surprised. Just sharing. Rest choice is yours and you can consult your doctor.

We came to Canada when our baby was 9 months old. So there have been some tough decisions that we ve made but they were necessary and trust me it turned into a good decision if I think of it now.
1. Look for a good daycare nearby and put the baby on wait-list as it takes months for a spot to open up.. usually spots open in fall and summer.
2. Daycare costs around 1000+, but that's a good expense as the kid learns so much there and the licensed daycares here are trustworthy.
3. I suggest you look at *once upon a child* store it's a pre loved kids store for everything.. I recommend buy stroller, crib etc from here(pre loved items) do not invest too much on these things as u might feel like buying a different/smaller/more comfortable ones after using.
4. Also, "daycares bring health issues for kids" is a myth, all kids are prone to season change flus etc.. so just be accepting to the fact the the kid will fall sick and we will have to take care

Baby carrier is something that u may want to buy later....my child was irritated with it and we could never use it.. maybe try baby carrier at a friend's place ...if ur kid is comfortable with Carrier or not
Do buy feeding pillow...that was something we passed on to another parent...it's quite useful item

Many congratulations on the pregnancy. Please trust god and all will be good. My story is very similar to yours. We moved to Canada in 2016 and decided to have the baby here. Within 8 months of moving, we got a call from india that my father in law was in the ICU. We resumed back to see him and on the second day of reaching I found out I was pregnant. It was the most toughest time for me. We stayed there for 1.5 months and everyday I was scared if I’ll have this baby fine. Now she is 5 years old ❤
Please buy kids stuff on Boxing Day. I split the list between Black Friday and Boxing Day. There were really good deals. Do not get a bassinet, it won’t be useful for long as the baby outgrows very quickly. I didn’t even buy a crib, I got a toddler bed that my daughter is still using as she’s almost 5. I bought a Graco travel system, don’t spend a lot on it. It was for $300 but I got it for $160 during Black Friday. Items I bought were travel system, bath tub, toiletries, diaper bag, feeding pillow, Philips electric breast pump, portable diaper changing mat, 5 newborn onesie, 5 onesies 0-3 months, socks, mittens, hat, nail scissors, glass feeding bottles, diapers, Kirkland baby wipes, swaddling blanket, baby towel. Don’t forget to sign up with Nestle, Enfamil, Similac, Huggies and Pampers for samples.

Congratulations and welcome to the parenthood, maternity leave is 50% of your gross income for 1 year and it is 30-35% of gross if for 18 months, there is maximum bar which is I guess $500+ per week. And now Canadian gov gives grant if your child is in daycare or day home. No family income matters, it is available for everyone unless your child is spending min 100 hours/ month in day care, which is actually a good amount. So don’t worry everything will be fine.. enjoy this most beautiful precious moment of life..👍🙏😊
