I made wine, conserve, and dessert wine from my jabuticaba couple years in a row. Highly recommended. Missed out one year when the tree didn't fruit though!
I used to love to harvest jabuticaba whenever I could! It might be weird tasting the first time, but after you get used to it, it's addictive! Cheers from Brazil 💪🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I’d totally love to see an update on some of the old trees before you went dark on UA-cam such as the ice cream bean and coconut palm etc and how that weird ice cream bean plant turned out
I’d love to make this, though sadly most of those plants are no longer as I had to leave them behind when I had moved to the city 😢. I do have a peach, pomegranate and date palm still but that’s about it. I’ve started more icecream bean plants 2 years ago now though, so I’m excited to be sharing more about them in the future :)
They are delicious. The blooms are intoxicatingly addictive. And the fruit is scrumptious. Very hardy. Through drought and flood. They make a nice wine and tasty cordial. We have two at the top of our driveway. They are very beautiful. 🇦🇺 Thanks for sharing this. I’m about to find some seeds. They are fruiting now, after this long saturating summer here. We are subtropical but our winters get very cold here in the ranges Nth NSW. We have the occasional frosts. They grow beautifully. They love the full sun though.
I just LOVE jabuticaba 😍😍😍😍 I hope yours grow up nice and give you lots of fruits. It’s definitely one of the most spectacular tasty fruits. A cool fact about it is that, back in the past, this trees were so appreciated and beloved that it was commonly cited in the testaments. So, sometimes you could get a full grown jabuticaba tree as an inheritance, inside a property that was given to someone else. And according to the laws you had to be allowed access to the tree and had full rights over its harvest… hahahaha that happened also because this trees, when grown from seeds, usually takes more than 30 years to yield the first harvest (at least the old varieties). I hope yours start producing a lot sooner. You can always use the grafting technique to shorten this time… Im loving to follow your food forest saga… hehehe thanks for sharing the content.
Yes Jabuticaba are so cool ay! I can't wait for the day when I get fruit 👴. Lol, though the Grimal variety is supposed to fruit much sooner, so fingers crossed. That's really interesting about the laws and rights of harvest!
Hey bro, have you tasted them yet? I tasted them yesterday for the first time. Delicious. Grape-like. A woman has several large fruiting trees here in Auckland. They're amazing and I even got to pick a few directly off the tree. What an experience! If you share an email address I'll show you a video I took. Let me know.
Hey bro, that's awesome. Was that at Salt river gardens? I luckily got to try some last year when visiting a place in Kaitaia and got to try a few off a mature tree. Such a cool fruit and almost unreal looking tree ay! Feel free to share a video to the email in the video description. Would love to see :) Cheers
as an aussie who is lucky enough to have access to jaboticaba, the flavour isn’t really similar to grapes? it’s kind of herbal and bitter when you eat it with the skin, the flavour of the pulp is borderline alcoholic (not like a fermented flavour but that acidic sweet punch you get from a really light beer)
Afzal, your main challenge will be light requirements growing indoors. If you can do that and have well draining soil along with a regular fertilizer regimen, you should be able to do it. It's not fun unless it's a challenge!
@@afzalhussain2411 for ground that stays extremely wet you can plant above grade and keep the top of the root ball several inches higher than the ground level. This will definitely aid in helping the soil dry out. I do this with several of my plants since we have poor draining clay soil here in Texas. You can even cut the bottom of a pot and let the roots grow into the ground.
by the look of your film you have growing jaboticaba in 150 days and shows fruit on a tree how big does a tree get in 150 days in n.z it,s just that my wife and i like them and was wondering if it,s puting a tree in .(terry)
how much light can a lil seedling with the first 2 leaves take ? mine just sprouted currently under a 4 foot florescent shop light . wanted to move them outside , shade cloth or full sun its winter in California.

I'm just in a process of planting some seeds and wondering where should I keep the pots untill they germinate? Do you keep them indoors? Watering everyday? I'm down in Nelson and hopefully will get some plants as they are just amazing❤️
At this time of year I would keep somewhere warm indoors. If doing in winter I often use a heat pad just to help things along. Just keep soil moist but not too wet and they should do well as long as they’re kept warm. You can also cover the pots with a bottle cut in half or something to keep the warmth in, but be careful that they don’t get cooked in the sun from to much heat.
Hello Kalem! They look amazing! They’ve sprouted quite quickly! I’ve got some seedlings before winter and my plants are quite tiny! 🥲 What type of soil are you using? And fertilizer? Have you got them outside already? Also, ideas about trimming? Sorry for so many questions! You’ve got one of the best videos showing the starting process! So awesome!! Thank you!
Thai MANGO dude, you should plant Lokmay MANGO variatey, Chokanan or Tongdam MANGO. Both are super Delis variety Thai MANGO. Then King of the fruits is Musang King Durian and Black Thorn Durian. Both are variety Durian you should Plant. Super Delis🤤
