    2 questions, you added wire 6 to create on off switch for lower led, can it be hooked to always on? and not IGN? or would they just remain on? Secondly, could you bring wire 3 down to a switch load, add wire like 6, and use as a on/off switch for usb/volt/12 volt? Best videos on these switch panels I've seen

      Hi Als, thank you for watching and for the nice comment.
      For your answer to questions "you added wire 6 to create on off switch for lower led, can it be hooked to always on?" if i understand you want your lower led to turn on when you flip the switch on "ON" and also when you don't have your key on ignition. then you would plug wire 5 on the Always on fuse box. Basically you can turn all you lights on even if your key is not on Ignition mode.
      if you talking about connecting wire 6 on "always on" fuse box then your lower led lights will remain on all the time "it will drain the battery".
      "Secondly, could you bring wire 3 down to a switch load" Absolutely you can do that. You will need to turn your switch "ON" for "usb/volt meter/12 volt charger" to be functional...
      Let me know if I understood and answered your questions.
      Thank you :-)

      @@joetheboatguy5394 So you understood correctly, and I already learned about lower led always on LOL. And I plan on trying the usb?volt for the weekend , thanks

    Ground to black or to separate bar just for ground?

    • @joetheboatguy5394
      @joetheboatguy5394  8 місяців тому +1

      Hi debradubose, thanks for watching; The best ground is the negative of the battery. Usually, black wires are connected to the negative of the battery. Let me know if this helps :)

      can I ground to a bus bar if t is connect to battery negative.@@joetheboatguy5394

      If you have a good bus bar there should be no issue, if your bus bar is connected to negative of your battery then your bus bar is a ground, so yes you can use bus bar as a ground 😊 just make sure to have the right AWG size wire between bus bar and negative of battery.

    Hey Joe can you do a video on how to connect a 10 gang rocker switch panel. Panel that was given to me as a gift has both ac/dc on switch. can they both be used as DC? BTW your videos are the best online.

      Hi debradubose, thanks for watching and nice comment. I haven't used these panels yet, but my research says that you can use the AC side for DC, but the indicator light would be much weaker. So, you right side of the panel (only DC side led will be brighter than the left side)
      Let me know if this help 😊

    Can you wire one of the switches to be a master power switch?

    • @joetheboatguy5394
      @joetheboatguy5394  5 місяців тому

      hi CaptainCal, thanks for watching. Yes, you can set a master power switch but it comes with some dangers. You got to make sure the master switch can transfer the amps needed if all your switches are ON. Also, your gauge wire size needs to be right. So basically, if you want a master switch, lets take for example the first switch connected on the water pump. So, the wire 8 will go to the other switches to pin 2. So, this becomes your main power to your other switches. If you turn OFF switch 1 the rest will turn OFF also.

      @@joetheboatguy5394 thanks for the response! So I take the number 8 wire and wire it to all of the other switches pin 2?

    • @joetheboatguy5394
      @joetheboatguy5394  5 місяців тому

      Yes so your first switch will turn all other switches on. Without that switch being on the rest will be off. But like I said be careful that your main switch is capable to pass all amperage needed by other switches.

    So if I want to make volt meter, usb, and 12volt plug powred by ignition how should I wire the panel?
    Also right now I have them on my fuse panel and when I switch on battery disconnect the whole panel has power, but when ignition is off it still has power till I switch battery disconnect,
    How can I wire fuse panel to also only accept power when ignition is on?

      Hi G G, thanks for watching, yes it’s always possible to put a potentiometer to control lights for dimming purpose. 👍
