I wanted to compare both palettes, as I thought they were similar in color story. We have two rounds of looks, applying the shades that I thought resembled each other the most. All in all, I think you will have more depth and intensity from Rust, but more variety from Supreme Nudes. Rust is a more specific color story, and that might vibe more with one who wants to strictly stick to those tones. Whereas someone else might appreciate the cooler tones found in Supreme Nudes, and perhaps have an opportunity to create softer, neutral looks.

I think the idea of the metallics in The Rust palette was to capture the texture of metal exposed to the elements that has acquired a patina. It isn't shiny, polished new gold, silver & bronze it's tarnished, aged, antiqued gold, silver & bronze. The more I see the palette the more "I get" the theme & the more I appreciate how well this palette was curated. I also really appreciate a palette that includes a non black but near black deep shade be it a charcoal brown or a deep plum or even a navy depending on the color story of the palette. Those shades are very useful as liners & mixers & won't kill the color of your look like black will. Both palettes look great. If you like super shiny, reflective metallics that POP, then you'd probably want to go with the Artists Couture. If I owned both, I'd use them together most likely 🖌🎨 I did a very rusty-orange inspired eye today using shades from Smoke Show, Beauty Rust, Safari Raine by Coloured Raine today & really liked it 🧡
I love this breakdown! I agree, and happy you mentioned the patina inspiration. Because it does play in the overall feel and purpose of the curation. Because you’re right, “rust” is not shiny. And since they started with all mattes, maintaining that theme with the appropriate finish from the metallics was vital.
Every time I see an eyeshadow showdown, in my head, I hear western showdown music. Two cartoon palettes enter from both sides of the screen from old saloon doors. In their stirrups, they have makeup brushes. At the end of your video one eyeshadow is on the ground with shattered eyeshadow, the video ends with the winning eyeshadow blowing pigment off of its brush. Another eye shadow palette showdown. Those are nude palettes for two different girls. The Melt is more for a hippy type of chic vs Artist Couture is more of a glamour girl.

Alicia - thank you for this!!!! So I’m trying to figure out which one I’m going to get in the sale. So so drawn to those yellow mustardy colours Rust offers.... however, what will be the deciding factor for me will be the amount of fallout.... I despise the ABH palettes for this reason. I have so many of them yet when I finally started using them I realized how horrible they are to use on the daily for a newbie! So with that said, which one had less fallout and was easier to use on the whole? Thank you in advance ❤️

Hi girlfriend! How are you? Guess what, I did it today, I finally ordered me some Sonia G! Yay, that rhimes, lol! Before ordering I did some investigation and watched ALL your Sonia G videos again today. So, you were my companion and best friend today 😉❤ After that I ordered the sky eye set, the pro face set and the designer pro brush. I'm sooo beyond excited because brushes mean so much to me. Since I was a little child in kindergarten, painting and other art forms had a special place in my heart. Later makeup was actually an extension of that. And brushes were always so fascinating to me, the connection-tool between imagination, creativity and realisation. For me they stand for freedom, me time, relaxation, authenticity and joy. When I take a brush into my hand it's actually like meditation and I'm able to connect with myself and the whole universe 😆 I think you understand what I mean or you think, that's crazy talk, lol. Just kidding...
I love you so much and thank you for teaching me so well. I have such a good connection to you as a person and I always understand your intentions. I agree! It’s hard to pick one winner, because although they’re both neutral they offer different hues.

I don't have Supreme Nudes but I haven't been able to put down the Rust Palette since I got it. I've been surprised at the variety I've been able to get out of the palette, and I hope they keep the metallic formula in it for future palettes. I definitely agree with you on the palette design though - Supreme Nudes is a very easy travel palette, Melt palettes are very blocky in design despite how gorgeous their packaging is. It certainly comes down to preference 😄

I agree! Rust is marvelous, and their best yet. But also to your point, the packaging I feel limits it’s use. I think it’s too long for my ESUM case 🤦🏽♀️

But for a $40 nude pallete, should it not have everything you will need to make a look (night to day)? Melt wins in my book.
I think depending on your skin tone, then yes Supreme Nudes can offer day to night. If anything, I can use a dark brown pencil to shade the outer corner and create more intensity.

I'm sorry i have watched tutorials on both of these palette by numerous YB's... and they are both not compelling.. I have Natasha Denona Bib, Gold, Sunset and Pat mcGrath 7 of her palettes which I LOVE and ADORE! not to mention all my MAC eye shadow singles and the neutral palette which i still love... then adding in my singles.. of Dose of Color Block Party Shadows! These don't compare...
