So if the people of the state are not paying the government taxes and instead only paying taxes for the state then they are only supporting the state.. and if they are now a individual little country then they can deal with other states ( countries ) for things that they can not produce... Also like minded states ( countries ) would ban together during hard times and times of war... Also... unfortunately you have a lot of people who are lazy and just want everything handed to them so in time of hardship or war they will simply do nothing to help... So stronger states ( countries ) would take them over and those lazy people would be forced to leave or work...
