That’s one of those baits where you just have to tell yourself you’re not gonna get a lot of bites. That’s a trophy bass/musky/pike lure. Gotta have a few of those to offset the practical baits and that’s why I love this channel!

Get to a big lake (Spirit Lake, Okoboji) this spring when the toothy critters are spawning in the shallows. Pike, Musky or giant Largemouth Bass will gobble that thing right up! If you put a blade on the "chin" of the head, it'll do the snake wiggle. Nice job!
UA-camrs like this are great. They aren't saturated in their fame and they are not afraid to be themselves. Great content. Keep being yourself bro, don't go cold like all those other UA-camrs
You say your just a guy who makes baits and videotapes it. You are the epitome of what SO many people in the world today want to be. You have a talent. Don't laugh too loud, other people may want it. You are an independent, you have no boss (except, maybe Chelsea and Finn), you have no clock-in or clock-out, you are doing something you love, and you are keeping 100k subscribers happy, by giving THEM a break from all the work-related crap they have to put up with. Keep up the awesome work!
This just ended up in my recommendations, most likely because I watch a lot of “hand made” videos. I don’t fish. I know nothing about making lures, but the title intrigued me. I watched, and I was amazed! The amount of artistry and hard work that goes into a lure astounds me. I realize this wasn’t a usual lure by any means, and now I plan on educating myself more about lures so that I am not as ignorant the next time I watch one of your videos. And yes, there will be a next time because a 44 year old woman whose idea of the outdoors is a well tended garden just subscribed. I did it is because your craft is exceptional, and you are far away from a guy “in his garage making lures.” Now I need to go watch older videos and catch up.... 👍
Having messed with milkshakes as well as banded king snakes THAT IS FREAKING AWESOME! if had not watched you make this world have fooled me for the real thing LOVED IT!
Dude you use so many awesome different processes in your baits, it looks like so much fun for us types who like to make stuff with our hands. Man i gotta try this, did you ever run a bait shop or anything? The mold processes and even the airbrushing you do some cool stuff.
this is how lure fishing started , 100+ years ago a fisherman would carve what he wanted to fish with then use it . rapala and a few other makers have great videos in mass scale which is very cool for the diehard fisherman . great work the hand carvings are spectacular and are great mantle pieces or personalized gifts ;)
I have been subscribed for a very long time and this milestone is so amazing to see you over come. I am greatly appreciated for you to make that mission #marlinbaits
I don't know how I got here, but I'm glad I did. I don't fish, despite growing up on a lake, but watching you make lures is so relaxing. It's apparent that you enjoy it immensely. Thank you for sharing.
Just a few ideas. 1. It’s way too big. The first one you started was a much better scale to work with and fish would be way more likely to hit a juvenile snake. 2. Bind it all with one of the inner strings from a length of 550 paracord and drill a cavity into the tail piece so that you can knot the end then fill in/sand the cavity. The cord is EXTREMELY strong and the knot will make the whole bait strong enough to add hooks down the body. I’d keep the front hook, add one in the middle, and one on the tail. 3. When snakes swim their heads remain stationary while the rest of their body moves and the head is slightly higher than the rest of their body. I’d make the head stand up a little and make a second thick section to put the 90 degree lip and weight on so all the action starts behind the head. Just a few ideas, LOVE your work, keep it up!
Matt Jones not to be that guy but it’s venom not poison. And yes you are right any snake that eats food in the water has to put its head underwater...but they never put their head under when just swimming unless spooked
Dude you make so much more than baits... These are tools that our fathers used, not only to teach us to fend for ourselves, but to create lifelong memories with us. Learned how delicate our ecosystem can be with lures. We all can hopefully one day pass these lessons and good times Down to our kids and possibly grandchildren... You create the lures that are passed down through generations as heirlooms. Not the big box store kind that lack quality. The good lures that last, and in time will tell stories and teach lessons. I noticed in other videos you use a bead point drill bit for eye sockets. A Forstner bit gives a much cleaner eye socket. Your videos are great and you have some serious wood working, painting skills. I’m starting my building season and watch your videos for inspiration. Thanks for the making these videos.
I think a musky would smash this one too. I Feel like there is a way to jerk it to make it look even more alive, anyways I like this one a lot, Congrats on 100k buddy.
Awesome bait i really love the effort and details you put into each piece. Keep up the great work. I loved the insect baits you have done perhaps a giant water bug aka(toe biter) would be a fun challenge.

I'm late as hell with this comment, and first I'd like to say I love the content ( just recently discovered this channel), but to answer the one question around the 29:45 mark.. no, snakes don't die in the winter.
