This is the place I grew up. Fortunately, the exact specific area I grew up in is being torn down to make new stores and houses only because its near a freeway. The whole city of San Bernardino is the hood. According to the City Economic Development Department of San Bernardino half of the people who live there are on some form of government assistance. Half the city live off the government hand outs. And the other half is barely working or as the mexicans put it just surviving. The future looks bleak. I tell you.
I'm left thinking that San Bernardino actually doesn't look so bad compared to many other areas of southern California. Of course, much of this video is shot in the northeastern area towards Highland, which is definitely not the worst area of San Bernardino. One thing that is remarkable is how clear the sky is. San Bernardino used to have the reputation of being the smog capital of southern California. Unleaded gas, catalytic converters, and the closure of the Kaiser steel mill have made a difference.
You went to highland... You needed to go down to Downtown Sb or up G street to baseline.... I grew up here I know all the bad places to stay away from..

Based on the look of the city, this could be in any second or (nicer part of a) third world country i've been to. something unique about america (and to a similar degree canada), is that people of any social standing tend to have reasonably nice cars. This is the damn truth.! I'm so glad you puttin' it out here like this. I'm on a roll too...I did a cut on how they came in our neighbor- "HOOD," and tore down our block and built a 3 story distribution center. Now they got a train under construction..to run right through the Hood..!!
😤😠😡..! Instead of building housing they building distribution centers.🤨🧐
@@willybarbosa6116 I'm looking at the Gentrification process creeping up on the Hood.. and how many people are homeless and living on the streets and in the canals.
San Bernardino was an all American city in 1977 but after the steel mill and norton air force base got shut down that was it it's still nice areas of sb but Waterman and baseline is all bad but I love my city highland/san Bernardino
You are right about all that. At least you’re loyal. I feel bad about it, no one can believe that it used to be nice. Oh well, SoCal & IE, RIP.
Ya. That's close to where my mechanic's shop is. Great mechanic, honest, and reliable -- too bad he's in such a scary area.
@@timebandito4278 true And watching the riots a in the area a month ago was crazy
Same thing happened to Moreno Valley. Once those bases closed in those cities the cities went to shit. They basically lost thier economy
My grandparents and father owned business in San Bernardino from the 40's to the 00's. For my dad it was a matter of civic pride to keep his business in Central City. He saw what the city was becoming but my grandparents would be devastated to see the city today. I used to buy weed in some of these hoods.
I'm a white dude watching this video as he rolls right by my hood..Highland Ave and Del Rosa...lived here 5 years straight, never has a thug ass looking dude sweated me or came at me wrong..I walk into stores freely and without fear, I don't feel nervous or scared, when I go get tacos or to the waterman discount mall or wherever, why is that? Cuz I have love for everyone and appreciate all people..I live the life that as long as you don't create a problem, you won't be part of the problem..and if you just happen to be their on accident, duck low and lay low...bottom line you still gotta live your life..don't live in fear, but don't be stupid and talk smack and always live in fear..p.s some of these dudes should join the gym and put the guns down..take an ass whoopin and learn something about what those hands do..don't pick up a strap, pick up a wrap and get yo ass in the gym..but most importantly love before hate, always..I love and appreciate all people..no homo..god bless San B.

It is, it’s hour a way north east of LA. We’re more closer the water but we still have mountains and more greenery.

it's crazy to me that San Bernardino has the rep it does these days. I was born in Redlands but my mom got me out of the area in the early 90's. we used to go to Carousel Mall all the time. I went back for the first time in 2012 and it made me sad to see what had happened to the area.
The projects are actually being torn down and built into nicer apartments
Yes I believe there getting the hint from l.a. raise the rents and they can't afford to live there. They then start heading east. Now even the high desert/low desert is starting to do the same. I know there's more to it like gentrification and such.
@@sunstar2310 nope its to trick people to live there looking nice and alll

This is the place I grew up. Fortunately, the exact specific area I grew up in is being torn down to make new stores and houses only because its near a freeway. The rest of SB however is still pretty ghetto. I'd rather see the place change for the better. Specially waterman area, baseline, or downtown SB. I remember Carosel Mall was the shit back then haha.

The whole city of San Bernardino is the hood. According to the City Economic Development Department of San Bernardino half of the people who live there are on some form of government assistance. Half the city live off the government hand outs. And the other half is barely working or as the mexicans put it just surviving. The future looks bleak. I tell you.
This Some Of SAN Bernardino But You Need To Let Me Take You Inside💯Like Where the GanG Members At Get Some Real Footage 🎥📺

I'm telling this man has instant transmission abilities. my Aunt moved to this area about 1959-60, and stayed till 1983 , always lived in a decent spot but she said the town then was going downhill and moved back to Northern California, She lived near a park off South Mt Vernon . There's over 200K people. They have a downtown with high rise buildings, and there's way worse parts. He was roaming the outskirts. East L.A. is gentrifying, so are Santa Anita and LB (though some areas in LB are still sketch); San Jose is amazing all around
Bro I was just on one of your other videos talking about San Bernardino getting overlooked and sure enough you got a whole 10 min video on it. Good shit.
Based on the look of the city, this could be in any second or (nicer part of a) third world country i've been to. something unique about america (and to a similar degree canada), is that people of any social standing tend to have reasonably nice cars. It shows how much of a cultural importance cars play in north america.

San Bernardino California can be one of the most beautiful and wealthiest cities, but if the people keep electing mayors that are morons and are not from this area and keep voting in city council people that are vested only in their districts and think about what's in it for them and not for what the people then this will continue.
I’m from Rancho Cucamonga and always had to be on my toes if I went to San Bernardino shits wild out there
