  • Awesomely organised by ‪@PolenarTactical‬ and supported by numerous sponsors noted in the video, here's Bloke and Chap's Day 1 of #lynxbrutality2022 in Slovenia.
    Bloke was shooting a #garbagetier CIS SAR-80 type 2 in 5.56 / .223 and a Browning Hi-Power in 9x19mm / 9mm Para, and doing everything out of ‪@varusteleka‬ #Särmä tactical jeans. Chappie was dressed as French with a custom ‪@varusteleka‬ #särmätst PC18 plate carrier and shooting a FAMAS (yes, a real one), and a MAB PA-15 in 9x19mm.

    "the ammo cans got heavier"..."thigh burn" 🥶 Watching you guys immediately broght up memories on the position i hated the most during conscript service. "assistant machinegunner" or MG2 as we called it. ("Last-Esel" was how i called it for myself) Carrying the MG ammo and spare barrels the whole time while marching, running... My mood sank each time i got appointed this position, knowing beforehand i would feel worn out the whole day.

    I really hope to shoot one of these things I need to get my basics back again in England but the problem is handgun... maybe LBP will transfer over some IDK.

    Bloke, can I ask for some advice for using a fal for this sort of shooting?

    • @BlokeontheRange
      @BlokeontheRange  2 роки тому

      Ask away! A FAL is definitely hard mode! I started IPSC rifle with an L1A1 and did my first brutality with a borrowed, shagged out one.

    • @jediknight129
      @jediknight129 2 роки тому +1

      @@BlokeontheRange I'm back in the UK and in the process of sorting a FAC again after some medical stuff (waiting for a below knee amputation to be able to walk again so definitely hard mode.)
      my plan is to get the gas blowback airsoft fal as a training tool and shoot as much airsoft practical rifle as I can here in the UK and work on getting my rifle fundamentals back with a .22 and when I'm fitter start looking at travelling for training classes and eventually a completion or two. I've wanted a Brutality type event for years and it's my aim.to try one from a combination of wheelchair and stubbornness just... to prove I can.
      at the moment I have a rhodesian chest rig and a shoulder holster for my standard setup though going back to a belt holster for the gun game side of things. I'll hopefully start putting some videos together when I start training again properly. Currently have an airsoft FAL for my weapons manipulation and handling practice and spend most of my time with airsoft pistols shooting Action Air type events.
      so any suggestions on gear, things you wish you knew before you started with the fal in a competition setting would be really helpful.
      I've had some training with a FAL in the US and tended to use the 56 patt webbing and found that worked fairly well for me though my weak shoulder shooting is AWFUL because I'm left eye dominant and I can't even see the sights from the right eye.

    • @jediknight129
      @jediknight129 2 роки тому +1

      @@BlokeontheRange It's your fault I want to do one with a FAL, I love shooting the L1A1 and that video inspired me to want to go back to the battle rifle over the ar.

    • @BlokeontheRange
      @BlokeontheRange  2 роки тому

      What I wish I'd known at the start was that if you want to shoot a FAL, you need to do it cos you love it and not cos you want to be competitive. There's good reasons why AR15's in .223 absolutely dominate the dynamic shooting sports - in rifle, major power factor scoring does not in any way balance .308 vs .223 (or even a just-major heavy bullet 7.62x39 vs .223).
      But if you want to do it, and you're left shoulder, learn to manipulate the cocking handle with both hands, and to do mag changes with both hands, so you can do both competently. There's no need to keep the firing hand on the pistol grip in shooting sports, so don't worry about that.

    • @jediknight129
      @jediknight129 2 роки тому +2

      @@BlokeontheRange I'm doing it out of passion, it's the one rifle that just clicked for me, firing it as a Cadet and in Canada at university, I know the AR is objectively better, my own times on stuff has shown me that but I just tend to reach for a fal over one if given the choice.
      I have Cerebral Palsy, I'm soon to be a below knee Amputee and I'm a class 35 profile at best in the nearest discipline that I can reference (Track and Field paralympic sports.) My aim is to shoot a Brutality stage inside the par time without geting DQ'd and maybe as an ultimate goal shooting one clean.
      The FAL is because I enjoy shooting it, because I love how they look and because of the historic significance.
      I won't likely be fit enough o do a shoot in modern gear (armour etc) but a FAL in historic gear I think could be attainable. (plus as a reenactor and airsofter I have a fair bit of it and I'm used to it.)
      thanks for the advice, I'm looking at some books and videos about shooting drills and things to practice (and trying to build targets for training as well as my dry fire setup)
      would love to see a video discussing how you and Chap and Ian approach things like training for a match.

    In all of these competitions no one ever has an AUG. Why not? I mean, Austria is right over there.....
    Also, at these distances is there any benefit to using a high height over bore red dot on the FAMAS instead of the built in irons?

    • @BlokeontheRange
      @BlokeontheRange  2 роки тому

      There was someone there with an AUG. But AUG's suck in literally every way other than reliability.
      The sight radius on a FAMAS is very, very short, with the front sight very close to your eye, with a tiny pinhole of an aperture and a large height over bore already. In other words, they suck. The dot adds a lot of height, but allows you to actually see both the target and what you're aiming with at the same time.
