- This Massive Cottonwood Tree Humbled Me!
In this video we will be removing several backyard Cottonwood trees in this low access backyard. There is one tree that stands out above them all. The largest tree I have removed without the assistance from a crane. Although not everything went perfect we successfully completed the job. But remember if your not struggling your not learning!!!

Pops/cotton woods are nasty trees, wood is big, but they wobble and move about all over the place not a nice feeling like you said and getting stuff hung up is just real life😅. Stuff just doesn’t go perfect all the time.... that bucket lift does make life easier. Usually, in uk we don't have the room for bucket lifts maybe a spider or usually bigger crane to remove them, Nice work there fella 👌
Haha, for sure! Thanks for watching 🤙 I am buying a spider lift soon here. We have a lot of low access areas. Be safe, brotha
It's been a year of big trees we did another monster poplar yesterday. Awesome work brother. You guys are kicking ass.
That's awesome, Jay! Thanks, brotha! I think we are at that time when people want the big ones to go. Lucky us 😆
Awesome work folks🏆🤙🪓 sick rigging session! That was a beast!
Thanks Dano 🤙
What you with the wood ok
Nice job brother. Please tell me how you’re hanging the 462 on the outside of the bucket. That looks slick.
It's just a bent bolt. That we bolted to the bucket 😆. It is handy, but you have to be aware of your surroundings.
Enjoyed the vide. Very nice job on that cottonwood. They can be really dangerous to climb and dismantle. I like the speedlining....nice you had the room for some. I'm not a it fan of span rigging. I prefer to use regular rig with a control tag line. I'm a big fan of tag lines....most of the time not necessary, but I feel a lot more comfortable with the extra control. That's big wood....great job with the negative rigging. Kudos to your rope man. All around fine job. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks, brotha! I totally agree that span rigging can work but can also be annoying. But hey, if there is no struggle, there is no learning 😆. Thanks for watching, brotha! Be safe 🤙
Well done! Those big cottonwoods can be tricky for sure. I enjoyed the explanation along the way!
Hey, thanks for watching 🤙 it helps me as well to review the footage and see where I can improve! Be safe, brotha
Awesome job guys frickin beast 💪 👏
Thanks Greg 🤙
Pretty wild how big some of the laterals get on Cottonwood’s without snapping off!
It is for sure! I got a monster to prune later this year, and I'll show a clip of the stub left where a branch fell and crushed a car 😆. It was pretty big

I’ve got a few to prune on a golf course beside a river that are monsters but I ain’t touching them till the wasps go to sleep for the winter…. Picked up a HAAS and jet step for it, should probably make a video of my fist attempt using it in the yard, might be a good laugh for UA-cam 🤣
excellent job 🤙💪
Thanks, man! 🫡
