The ability Mr. Rogers had to make his audience feel like a part of the story and emphasize with the people he brought on was amazing, Tom hanks did an amazing job with his performance and in that moment when he looks to camera I truly resonated with Lloyd in a way that made me uncomfortable in the best way. This was a great Video thank you for making it.
Thanks! Yeah Tom Hanks nailed it, I feel like trying to recreate a beloved character like that is so risky and could’ve fallen flat but they totally stuck the landing
Great video, thank you. What a beautiful scene. For some reason it makes me think of the final episode of The Midnight Gospel, where Clancy's/Duncan's mom guides him through a sort of meditation that it's hard not to follow along with.
I sorely wish I could think of my mother through that moment, or my father or my mothers husband, but as much as I try, no moments come to my mind where they influenced me positively to be who I am. I am who I am thanks to my brother, my best friend, my grandparents, my uncle, my teachers, etc. but it is my responses to my 'parents' in anger that also shaped who I am. It was not their love, but it was their abuse and neglect that affected me. It's true though that I had a lot of love directed to me, from my brother and from outside the home. It's important to remember that.
I’m so sorry you didn’t have the parents you should’ve had, I can’t imagine what that’s like. I’m glad though that you had at least your brother, grandparents and others to remember loving you into being.
Having 2 little kids I am sad they won't have mr Roger's in their life, this movie was great, and the 4th wall break was perfect because I felt like he knew we were already doing it to, a little "you feel that? Yep we all can do this and feel a little better"
It certainly is a shame he can’t still be around, it feels like we need him now more than ever, but I’m glad we at least have his show and movies like this
