That has to be a series of extremely useful tips for those folks who have one of these who have a similar or same NH baler to this machine Ted. Just brilliant helpful advice for dealing with this nightmare problem - it has to be really exasperating for anyone in this situation with a crop needing to be baled!
I can't find the net wrap on my baler. thanks for the video it is very useful for people that have round balers not Square balers. hope you have a great day
YOurs just has that really heavy twine that gets tangled on everything.... should have a wrapper on the back of your big baler ... that would be pretty sweet!
Little late seeing this video, but hopefully you can provide some insight. We have the RB 564, so a red new Holland. It ran great until we changed the netwrap. Now it’ll make the bale but won’t engage or Pick up the netwrap.
My baler won't leave enough net through the duck bill and I have to thread it through every bale. Had all the other issues you talked about but not surprising that the baler I brought hadn't been stored well or used for 3 years
hope you get it going perfectly... check everthing make sure the roll turns free make sure the brake is adjusted. THe system works well when it works but it can be a pita when it doesnt
Hi Ted. I have a cropcutter 644. When the bale is full it catches the net and starts wrapping. Then an error sounds on the box and the net keeps going. It does not retract the actuator itself. You can manually retract it on the control box and guess when there is enough wrap applied and retract fully and it cuts properly. I have replaced the sensor on the wrap roller. Any idea what to look at next? TIA
I'm running a 664. Had a helluva time running it yesterday as the net wrap wouldn't get grabbed because parts of the mesh were breaking and wrapping around the roller. I had to stop and cut the mesh off of the metal roller (that keeps the mesh inline with the duckbill) and restart the mesh. Finally ran out of the old roll of mesh and Dad and I put in the new one-and the problem completely went away. One question I have is whenever the duckbill moves in for the bale to catch I'm hearing metal on metal for a second or two like the duckbill is dragging on a roller. Surely this isn't supposed to happen is it? I'm learning the quirks and tricks on the fly with this and I'll gladly take a few mesh problems over the old Vermeer 650F we had that took SO much time to twine wrap, shut off the baler, open gate, close gate, and then pull forward 10 feet to drag up a wad of hay praying the bale would start. This year has been extraordinary for red clover hay as our 664 was gobbling up windrows sometimes 4 feet high. Thanks for the video-there are simply things a manual can't teach that practical experience does. (Oh and don't forget to release the brake catch! I forgot and wrapped a bale at least 4 or 5 times instead of the usual 2 lol.) Things have come a long way from the old Allis Chalmers Rotobaler. (That my Dad still uses. Talk about a baler that requires the most absolutely perfect hay to work.)
Tom Servo yea I would guess it’s incerting it too far. Should be a mechanical stop so it doesn’t go in to far Had that happen once and it got caught and did thousands in damage
Ted I have question on br 7090 why would the net wrap stop working when there is 1.25 inch of net left on spool I have to re thread the net every time any ideas thanks
Very possible the counter or the roller that measure the net going on is hung up and not touching the roll. Also possible the brake tention is week and not cutting good as the larger roller has more tention on brake
What would cause the baler not to cut the net wrap all the time. Most of the time I’m having to turn off the pto and turn it back on for it to cut. If I don’t it just keeps wrapping the bale
The knife should or could be in need of sharpening. The spring could need adjusted The brake could also be in need of adjustment. Also make sure the roll is spinning the right way
I’d suspect the spreading rollls for the net are locked up installed between wrong or not enough brake applied As well as a problem with the actuator on where the net brake is applied
with baler off and even tractor off you can have your net out and hit the wrap button and jump out of cab and spin the wheel that counts the net going on..... keep spinning and it will think that the bale is wrapping and you can watch the actuator cycle. some times its easier to do with two people. not starting could be alot of different things
We just got a BR750. Many times to won't grab the net wrap to begin wrapping. We have to get under and cut the net wrap to a length and then initiate the wrap again. Any ideas?
Is your net spinning free when break is released? Is the setting for tail length too short. Normally when not cutting or starting is because it’s not spinning free when break is off
@@tedkahler9738 How do I adjust the tail length? My BR7070 is leaving a really short tail and then it struggles to catch the wrap when starting the next bale.
@@ryanstockwell7623 have to check the book but I would make sure till is free spinning when. Brake is released first as that caused a lot of issues for me with net not starting
I have a BR 780 when the net wrap gets low it won’t take it you have to pull the net wrap back out of the rolls re-threaded and then I will take it but if you put a brand new roll in it works every time perfect ~Net wrap gifts low again . Any ideas on why this is happening?
I have the exact same baler baler but its the crop cutter version and this fall late it has started slipping the belts without any hay in the chamber, it also has 0 belt pressure when it does this. so far we have rebuilt one of the pressure cylinders that wasnt holding pressure and put adifferent adjustment valve on off another baler and still the same problem.the baler only has 3600 bales threw it,i was wondering if u had any ideas to try?
Jordan Carroll I’m running 64 inch in a br 7090 I’d be willing to help diagnose problem Make sure the net is routed properly (I know I have had it wrong before). Net needs to be comming off top of roll . Make sure all the spreader rollers are turning free have seen them get net wrapped on them and lock up or slow down. I always run the brake much tighter than they say to. So that is something to check. It’s possible the sensor became loose and the net duckbill needs recalibrated. Even possible the linkage became loose and the brake is not engaging as it should either . I could pm my number to you if you would want to talk to me more about anything
I enjoyed your video. very informative. I have a br740A round baler it has a problem im having a hard time tackling. I keep getting a actuator error i did what the book said put independent 12 volts to see if it works and it retracts and extends with power. it will retract with the controller it will not extend. It isn't making any bales. have you had this?
i had a br 780 and a 7090 with voltage problems and towards the end of the cord where you hook it up to the battery there is a little black box thing... there is a relay in there like a 30 or 40 amp one. There is just plastic covering it. i have had the relay go bad not letting the power get to the acuator at full voltage cut covering back hooked jumper wire across terminals on relay to test that was the problem replaced the relay and problem went away... very hard to figure out the probems for sure but might be worth a try
I have a roll belt 450 and I’ve had trouble with it tomahawking bales. I watch my levels in the cab almost every time it right on but kicks out a tomahawk bale. Any thoughts on a fix ?
Mark Miller is the net wrapping on a roller or just making it tomahawk ? If not wrapping does you belts stop turning when you open door. If they do not your door could be opening to slow and making it bind up and writ the net as your dumping the bale
@@tedkahler9738 Thanks for get back to me. My baler would wrap just great maybe about 5 then tomahawk one then a good one then tomahawk. My belts keep turning when I eject the bale. Jenny Plummer I have had it over extend or over retract and get stuck. Had to take bolt out of actuator that holds it to duckbill then turn by hand to get it free re install then re calibrate and if issues continues your actuator clutch is getting bad
Good vid Dads baler has something wrong in the computer because it won't even do anything if you select net wrap but it isn't worth fixing. It is $5500 just to fix the pick up so we asked what about just buying a new pick up but that is $24,000 lol
service man said it was the computer but that doesn't mean he knows anything you know how that goes sometimes they really don't know much. Might check the motor now.

Hello, I have a br7090 new holland baler and when the wrap gets low, it will start wrapping the bales and will not stop.
