F-Zero is a futuristic racing video game developed by Nintendo EAD and published by Nintendo for the SNES in 1990.
The game is normally played with through one of three leagues, known as Knight, Queen, and King leagues. This TAS features the first league. We also have a Queen League (tasvideos.org/...) run.

He is 2nd place because is a form to evade some scenes also the SpeedRunners try to do this too but sometimes they need cross in 1st place for the time in each race
I bet the guy who comes in 1st place every time is really confused
So is the only reason why the fastest car in the game at TAS speed levels can get caught up by the slowest car after waiting for just one second the Rubber-banding mechanism?
The same thing goes for Maximum Velocity
The world records are so good now that only 2 of these TAS races (Death Wind and Silence) would have beaten them WITHOUT the slow down at the end of the race.
Actually, it depends on the comparison that you use. FZeroCentral.org records times are for the fastest track, whether it was league or a practice track generated. In this TAS, we are not able to boost off of the Golden Fox effectively (yes it is possible), except for Death Wind I or II, enough to make a difference. That is why the other 3 tracks have faster overall times. But for laps 2,3, and 4...they are quite impossible for a human to achieve. Since the goal of TASVideos is to "beat the game"...meaning that it should get to the credits, there is not acceptance of single tracks for a direct comparison. I do wish FZeroCentral has records for full league races though, as they are in another timing category.
However, runners of this game are quite impressive and certainly showcase great times that TASes can barely beat. Its just the nature of this game...very, very difficult.

@@elenasiegmanfan Play Death Wind 1 on beginner with Fire Stingray and hit all the turbos. You absolutely can lap at least one of the main four racers (Usually Blue Falcon or Wild Goose).

Because the placement chart pops up faster when you are 2nd or 3rd.
Why every F-Zero TAS I see it's 2160p and unwatcheable? I've putted 720p60fps and it struggles to load, and finally it stutters every moment >.>

oh... if you click the link to the TAS and then read a little bit down, it explains that he gave commentary on twitch. in the twitch video, he explains that it's "faster" to avoid the cutscenes.
Which is obviously wrong since this tas has already been obsoleted.
@@Aethelia Wrong. This TAS is not obsoleted, otherwise it would be tagged so. Also, coming in second place is an RTA strat that is also managed in this TAS to squeeze out as many frame as possible.
When you get 1st Place you will be shown a lot of frames of how about you got the first place with some etxra seconds.

Why does he accelerate in short bursts when turbo is on?
"Super Jet - On the completion of each lap, the driver is reward a super jet, which when used...moves the car from its capped speed to 562 as the highest. It cycles from 562 to 478 for 4.25 seconds.
Brake Tapping - Refers to a technique, for when super jets are used, to gain greater speed by manually cycling the speed back up to 562 as fast as possible. This is done by braking at a certain speed to eliminate the lower part of the super jet speed cycle so that your car is running at speeds on the top end more. The result, is about 4 frames cut per lap."
