I love both, and if we dig deeper we see that the main focus of both bands is touching our emotions. But the WT band is more Epic in the sense sound, while Ev. is more rock. But both thrill and mess with my head, and live music with content! \ o /
The songs really grown on me over the years. It didn't instantly connect with me like Angels or more recently The Howling our Our Solemn Hour but its got great lyrics and really works with the crowd
I was thinking to myself how much Sharon actually does move/dance on stage..especially for usually being in a huge dress. I think she headbangs/moves/dances a good amount for her songs. By the way, I love when she dances, it's almost magical.
Amy cannot hold her breath the most of the time, and she drown her voice very painfully in her throat when singing high notes. That's why I think Sharon and so many other singers kick her ass live
@xRatedL hy. that "thing" is a great epic model that makes you think you are in a different era... that's the point of their music...epic songs, epic stories, epic models, epic dresses.. i hope you get the idea and i could make my self understood.
@adeline7777 Ive seen a good amount of WT vids and billions of Ev vids, and its safe to say Amy really is a better performer. Sharon hardly ever headbangs and tends to just stay in one spot. Even in the parts she doesn't sing. Amy headbangs everywhere, even sitting at a piano. Not to mention, shes all over the stage. I understand that the notes are higher than what Amy sings most of the time, but thats really no excuse bc Amy hits her fair share of high notes too.

I'm not talking about dancing or singing, I'm talking about performing. Yeah, Sharon has an upper hand singing cause she doesn't move/rock out half as much as Amy. Sharon's actually kinda boring to watch, esp for a rock band. Heavy music & no movement just don't mix. WT has props/effects, but it's useless without a performance. Ev lacks those things, but they make up in performance. Rock bands are supposed to rock out, headbang, show you want to be there, you enjoy your music and what you do.
let's see if Amy could sing this, I am not saying she is a bad singer... but better than Sharon Den Adel... I don't think so! just go ahead and look for the song The Promise on Black Symphony concert or whatever song of that amazing concert... Sharon was perfect in all the songs

Sharon is WAY better live than Amy Lee.....but both are great singers and very talented. Amy really only sounds as good as her on the albums.
Within Temptation is alot more dynamic, with its use of symphony, its alot more theatrical and story telling. Ev just doesn't appeal to me
