    Great setup for the country! Your close to us in ruckersville. I actually welded one of these together myself to allow my 54 stander and 48 walkbehind to fit on it. Never even thought about getting a smaller rider! Good stuff!

      Yeah we exclusively service Lake Anna so it is very rural. These have been so nice. some of the driveways are a real challenge to get a trailer into, even for someone really experienced.

    I think that is an incredible set up. I would possibly raise the green bars up and spin around, but not sure if thats an option, but if you could, you could install weedeaters above bed on the inside of bed instead of outside the bed. Drivers may have a hard time with them and mail boxes and gateways. It's just a added hazard honestly. Those aren't cheap either. Really neat set up. Haven't seen anything like it around here in Houston. Mostly the land scapers and lawn crews use trailers. The trucks sometimes have ladder racks with homemade weedeater racks on inside of bed, almost above the cab. Thanks for sharing, I Wonder if they make it for wagons? ;)

      Thank you, that is something we may do in the future! The trimmers currently don't stick out any further than the mirrors. I am still not opposed to mounting them higher, it's just a matter of reaching them from the ground

      @@locallandscapers3257 good point about the mirror.

    I get the compactness, time saving and simplicity, but I like having my 60, 48 and 30 ( and sometimes 22 ) for any job, and I enjoy driving my trailers. Not to mention they're great to have when people need me to transport things outside of work 😂

      That's fair! you can still use the ramp rack almost like a trailer for those favors outside of work. We are now hiring people to do the mowing, and them not needing to know how to drive a trailer really helps our new guys succeed

      @@locallandscapers3257 it's an advantage for inexperienced drivers for sure. Beyond all of that, hope it works out with the new hires.

    Love the ramp rack. I have a similar setup, the actual ramp rack version didn’t work for me due to height of the single gate. But it’s still a great option, I love being trailer-less for the most part.

    Love it, nice setup, next time I would just get a 48 u won’t notice any time saved vs the 52 and u would be surprised on how many more gates u can get thru with a 48 vs 52

    • @locallandscapers3257
      @locallandscapers3257  Рік тому

      Well, we went from all 61's to 52's. I didn't want to go even smaller. I tend to agree that the difference would probably not be noticeable on our properties though.

    Looks like you still have a bit of room for a small walk behind as well. For all the small sites I built a hitch deck that could be put on the back of my 1ton dump. Close to the ground so no picking it up.

    • @locallandscapers3257
      @locallandscapers3257  2 роки тому

      Yes this is correct, you could fit a 36 back there or even smaller. We have mostly larger sites. They probably average 1 acre in size.

    One thing you should get is an OCDB for your mowers

    These are great set ups but they wouldn’t be good for my market which is cape cod. Between sticks, shrub clippings, grass clippings, leaves, and downed limbs the need for a truck bed disposal receptacle is essential.

    • @locallandscapers3257
      @locallandscapers3257  Рік тому

      Thats fair, others use this set up and bag all of their clippings, however they use much smaller mowers with bins to hold the clippings. So it could probably work with a smaller mower?

    How far does the rack extend off the back (in the closed position)?
    3’ ?
    4’ ?
    Curious how long it will make my truck

    Why must you unload the enclosed trailers every evening? Wouldn't some of the new high tech puck locks prevent theft? Throw a high tensile chain and lock around the wheels? Asking for a friend.

    • @locallandscapers3257
      @locallandscapers3257  2 роки тому +1

      So we actually were running open landscape trailers and had one enclosed trailer. I was referring to unloading those open landscape trailers in the video. I thought we might switch over to enclosed trailers with 1 person crews. The problems I found with enclosed trailers is that they were a pain to get in and out of with mower inside, the one we had was too small, and when we had to fuel at night we had to unload mower from trailer for it to reach. We were able to keep everything inside the enclosed trailer, but for the other reasons, I figured ramp rack has been the best fit for us.

    Where do you put grass clippings and debris that is hauled away?

    • @locallandscapers3257
      @locallandscapers3257  Рік тому

      In our market, we don't haul anything away. You could use some 55 gallon drums to load up. If you're using a 52 inch mower for lawn mowing and have to bag, this would likely not be the set up for that.

    What's the height when the ramp is up?

    • @locallandscapers3257
      @locallandscapers3257  Рік тому +1

      I don't know exactly but I'll estimate it is around 8'6" or so. We have 10 x 10 doors and they need to be all the way up to clear those and we have maybe a foot of room when those are up completely.
