Thank you so much!!! I'm the person who's always saying "crafts, painting etc is not for me".Thanks to you and I gained in self-confidence and can now paint beautiful things ( well not as much as you but ok for me). Your voice is calm, I could spend all my Sundays listening to Debusssy in the background and watching your tutorials. I've literally painted 38 different types of leaves 🍃 yesterday! Have a lovely week!❤

Wow, yet again. I'm sure I heard you say '..and it's easy ..' as you drew the second C curve; one day it will be, one day. Your cheeriness is a big part, by the way - what you said at the end about being happy and relaxed, I'll work on that too. Thanks again!

Ditto. After multiple attempts at doing a "basic" landscape using youtube tutorials, and having a bunch of "basic" smears on my page, I feel like I'm finally getting somewhere by going to the basics and just practicing that. I spend an hour doing "S"s from the last tutorial and enjoyed just the brush stroke. Kinda like petting a cat!

This really helped me improve my control of the brush and the results are better lines, curves and leaves. I have just discovered your channel. As a beginner I have watched so many tutorials on other channels, but I honestly find yours to be the best. I am just finding my way back to watercolor painting. When I was in my early twenties I painted quite a bit. I am now in my early 50s, so I have to start all over again. I have been enjoying watching these beginner tutorials. I just decided in November 2020 to try to take up watercolor as a hobby. I love art. I actually took up photography a few years ago (photographing flowers and garden landscapes) so that I could use my photos to paint flowers and landscapes. Long story, ended up loving the photography time and put aside the idea of painting until now. What a surprise to find that when I gave it a try, I was a disaster. Too much water, or muddiness . . . not able to let things be but trying to make something right while the paint was still wet . . . well you know. Then I found your tutorials on how to paint flowers, and now these real beginner ones! Well, I can't be more delighted. I was able to paint 3 good-looking tulips after watching your video. Wow! I was so proud. Now I am watching these basic beginner episodes and I will be happily following you on UA-cam. Thanks so much! BTW -- it is especially instructive watching you because I am also left-handed and it is easier somehow to watch another left-handed person teach brushstrokes, etc.

I don't know if it's just me, but I (a right-handed person) find it much easier to mirror your C and S curves, so I don't have to push the brush. I practised and practised until I just said to myself: Wait a minute, let's try it the other way round, et voilà, much better.
And before I forget: I love your videos! I had your book before I found your channel here, and the visual demonstrations compliment it so nicely. Your way of explaining is so calm and motivating. I really like it!

Thank you so much for these. I now need to practice these exercises on the various papers I've bought, to work out how the watercolours behave when I use them. I think I've confused myself by using different papers. It seems results are quite often very different because of how much water is applied and then absorbed or sits on the surface?
