First Suzuki Jimny in Upper Mustang, Lo Manthang, 4300 m. | Off-roading in Mountains of Nepal

- This video shows the first Suzuki Jimny to travel to Upper mustang (Lo Manthang) and Korala Border situated at 4300 m. high between Nepal & China. Road condition is very poor. There is tough rocks, mud and cliff, several deep river crossings, and mountain passes on the way. It was an ideal condition to test the off-road capabilities that Jimny have to offer. Jimny topped the test with minimal effort on its mechanical and physical part. With ample ground clearance, geometric angles and power through the engine, it shuts all the critics that claims it is underpowered.
It was really fun to navigate it through the narrow alleys of Lo Manthang. Sure to turn heads and bring smile on the faces of those who sees the Jimny, here is the video of a proud owner.

😄👍👍👍
how much it cost in nepal? Seems too much costly. I have a zeta variant
My compliments, i intend to drive to that place with my mom. Hope it won't be much of a problem for the elderly. How many times did you have to engage 4x4?? Love from Sikkim, 🇮🇳 india.
Thank you very much for your kind reply. You must avoid the rainy season (peaks at July to September), it's a highly landslide prone area. I had to engage 4x4 in few situations. Drive slow and carefully, you will see many elderly visiting Muktinath temple in Mustang. Good luck for your safe travels with your mom.
what are the tyre sizes? are they stock ?
How was the tank range? Did you carry extra fuel?
Range was good (with full tank above 400 Km/L approx.) until we started to climb uphill in high altitude. After that, the range declined mostly because I had to transfer to 4H. Did not carry extra fuel. Petrol & diesel is easily available in Mustang for a premium price.

Next time it would be nice not to speed up some parts of the footage, I appreciate ASMR with raw unedited footage. NICE VIDEO!
Sure, thanks!
Guys could you please tell me where is this place located and what was the mileage of the car in this terrain
Nepal-Tibet Korala border at 4300m high altitude. Mileage about 11 Km/L average in 4WD.
Was there any issue in water crossings since the jimy is rated for 300mm only ? How was the power on inclines at high attitudes?
We faced no issues whatsoever with the river crossings. Although, it is probably better idea to install a snorkel before going for deep water crossings. The power to weight ratio is good, it's a light vehicle with moderate power. I didn't feel the engine struggle even at the high altitude. At those steep inclines you must push through the 1st gear. In my opinion, the 2nd gear could have been better.
Milage chai katei raixa ?
People say in steep incline the engine struggles is it true?
That's a very genuine question. I have also heard the same rumor and was curious how the jimmy would perform. I drove in steep uphill with 4 persons & fully loaded boot space. Most of the time I had to switch between 1st and 2nd gear (in the steep incline), but in any situation I never felt that the engine struggled. It's not a powerful engine, but it will get you out of anything without much effort or worry. After the trip, my confidence in Jimny has increased significantly. Perhaps, if someone coming from a turbo diesel with powerful torque generating engine would feel the engine struggle. In my case, i didn't feel that way.
Guys i know u can speak good english but it would help others to understand if u speak nepali. Its just my suggestion.

Bro can you describe your jimny’s Tyre profile
It’s a 215/75 R15 AT with stock suspension.
What's the tire performance like? Road noise? Is it apollo apterra at2?
@@asadmo it is a Sailun Terramax AT. The performance off-road is wonderful. Initially, the on road experience was not very smooth with road noise, however, after driving 1000+ Kms with these tires, my experience has improved significantly.
Mileage pani k kati dincha tyo ni share gardinus na hai
On hwy 14.5Km/L average. During off-road on 4H uphill, it was about 10.5 Km/L on average. In Kathmandu city rush hour traffic, the current mileage is 11.5 Km/L on average.
U said on highway its 14.5km/L. Let me know the speed .
