Today I am upload new video tutorial with simple Idea to show, and it will be a video series with big title "Illustrator trick".
In this first video of this series I will show you how to create line scratch text. This is really simple trick that you can do with illustrator, using blend tool.

Just to share, you have to use "bold style" of bebas neue, not regular ,
otherwise the middel line of letter (in blend tool) will be distorted.

How do you do this with more intricate letters? I can't figure out how to do letter B. Cheers.
for complex letters such as B, M, I separate the letters first into the simplest form. for the letter B you can split it into two D.

blend mode not working for me
I'm doing this tutorial, but when I use the blend tool to create a single line on the letter C, it doesn't appear like it does on the video (min 2:27). The line looks crooked, like it's bad quality. I don't understand why. It doesn't look high quality, rounded like it appears on the video. What am I doing wrong? I'm a begginer in Ai. Thanks a lot!

may be able to use art brush, make parallel lines as art brush then apply on S line. look at this video

Cool technique but I dont think it works for more complicated letters
you can if you knew the right places where you delete anchor points (they are the key for a good blending)

Pada menit ke 1:23 pas expand font character, apa bedanya stroke di check list dengan un check list? Gan knp ya kl di AI, font character yg sdh di expand, kl diganti backgroundnya dr putih ke warna gelap atau hitam, selalu jadi lebih tebal font characternya, apa karena pas expand ga di un checklist strokenya kyk di menit 1:23? Thank you
bedanya kalo stroke dicheck artinya ente mengexpand stroke menjadi shape, artinya stroke berubah menjadi shape. sebenarny dimenit 1:23 itu ane memang sengaja tidak mengexpand stroke karena memang dibutuhkan untuk blending.
klo memang ente mau ngubah font character ke shape mending gunakan create outline, karena menurut ane ini lebih gampang dan gk ngerubh ketebelan huruf.

Nobu Design I've made the "m", "n" and "a", but the s didn't worked, I needed to make it by hand using pen tool, and it's not perfect, do you have any tips?

When I try to use the "blend tool" the whole letter turns one color, and i dont get the lines? Can someone help :D
you need to double click the blend buton - spacing - then select specified steps :)

separate the vertical part, the curve part, and the slash with the scissors, then use the blend tool in each section.

klo bikin huruf m,p sama b gmana mas? sya kok gk bisa
emang agak sulit untuk huruf-huruf tersebut karena arahnya line beda untuk satu huruf, saran saya sih dipisah dulu bagian lengkungnya sama bagian lurusnya baru kemudian diblend.

I used blend tool but nothing happened
double click on blend tool to open blend option, then you can set to specify step.

make sure two object that you want to blend is separate. if objects is group, ungroup it. if the objects is compound path, release it.
