At first I didn't really like her interpretation of this variation, but I've seen the vid on youtube "Uliana Lopatkina Lesson---Raymonda" where she explains the movements and emotions behind it and she completely hits the nail! Truly a recommended watch.
All is about personality . Sylvie always will have something about "Raymonda" in all her characters, and Ouliana always will have something about "Swan" in all her performances.
this is a dance of a royal member, with dignity, radiance, with prospect of future, not the usual clap\jump\active businesswoman approach... this is a prinsess, at last!
Completely different interpretation here even just stylistically. Much less stiff. But it surely was coached that way to the others. This the softest and most lyrical I've ever seen this.
she's so perfect for this role. she understands it better than anyone else. maybe she's not perfect technically, or less perfect than other colleagues, but her interpretation is outstanding.
Uliana is great and I saw this variation with different ballerinas, but to be honest I must say that Zakharova's variation is the best one, cause her expression, perfect technique and gracefulness.
Гилем супер-танцовщица, но в Раймонде Лопаткиной она проигрывает в аристократизме, корпусе и руках. Поэтому Лопаткина - это эталон Раймонды на все времена!
Fortunately in America we have bigger ballet studios where we can jump and work with the space. As a result the body becomes stronger and powerful. I hate to go to small studios in Europe. That's really a problem for ballet. Not all in America is bad ;D
@nailbroth The Paris Opera version of this variation his supposed to be strong, exotic and powerful. Nureyev wanted the hand clap to be strong, he wanted to show the change of character of Raymonda. The young girl becoming a woman.
Every Prima ballerina has a different interpretation. I love them all, it's just a different style. Zacharova, Lopatkina, Guillem, love them all, different artistry but all are perfection. Nuñez was good at capturing the essence of a sassy character, of course she's Argentinian so that this suits her perfectly, yet I do not like her body lines at all. Nuñez does not look like a fairy princess ballerina to me which is what a ballerina should be
@tinyswan2007 ok i kno this comment is old lol..HOWEVER...isnt one of the key elements in this role modesty? one cant display too much pride and play the modesty at the same time i personally thought her inerpretation is not only LOVELY but the best ive ever seen
She is a beautiful dancer but I don't like her interpretation of this role. It's too soft, no power whatsoever She is a rich noble woman. I recommend watching sylvie guillems interpretation or Monique Loudières
that was terrible. worst i've ever seen this variation, aside from recitals. Can she even clap her hands. So weak - perfect lines don't make a powerful, emotional performance. Terrible lack of artistry. What a shame to waste that talent.
Ульяна - лучшая из лучших! Красота необыкновенная! Единственная, неповторимоя, неземная!
ENCHANTING... i forgot where i was watching her!
wow she is amazing.

one word...: PERFECTION
Hypnotizing...wow....
she becomes the music , I love her x

I agree.
Ouliana, precised, sweet, female, strong , details ... Ouliana is the Ballet, and Ballet is Ouliana
this is a dance of a royal member, with dignity, radiance, with prospect of future, not the usual clap\jump\active businesswoman approach... this is a prinsess, at last!
They're all 25 year old marketing saleswomen compared to the elegance of Uliana

Uliana é sem duvida nemhuma uma grande Diva
breathtaking!!!
Guillem's is a daring firework of zest. Uliana's is clever and full of mystique. Both interpretations are genius.
Très d'accord, elle est au-dessus de toutes!!
exquisite, noble, delicate -- I prefer Semenyaka, but only just.
she`s beautiful!
Uliana is great and I saw this variation with different ballerinas, but to be honest I must say that Zakharova's variation is the best one, cause her expression, perfect technique and gracefulness.
Abnel05 I actually prefer Paloma's version the best
I much prefer Uliana's version and her expression. Zakharova looks too mechanical and lacks expression.

very enticing music and dance :P
Lopatkina Raymond's, feminine and soft, maybe to soft, but nice

pues me gusto su presicion y es un poco fria, baila muy muy bien me encanto su presencia en el escenario

heh that was the wimpiest clap i have ever seen.
For me the best interpretation of this variation was Makarova's.
if you want claps wacht Guillem version hahaha

I like the Nureyev version better. But this is great also, she WAY better than Svetlana Zakharova. She's more delicate and graceful.
et guillem n'est pas aussi divine!
I saw Sylvie Guillem. The difference is in the arms, Uliana is better for that, delicate, Sylvie more athletic.
She is a beautiful dancer but I don't like her interpretation of this role. It's too soft, no power whatsoever
She is a rich noble woman. I recommend watching sylvie guillems interpretation or Monique Loudières
She is beautiful but I still prefer Sylvie Guillem for this role
that was terrible. worst i've ever seen this variation, aside from recitals. Can she even clap her hands. So weak - perfect lines don't make a powerful, emotional performance. Terrible lack of artistry. What a shame to waste that talent.
Thats an old tradition not to clap! During the Zar`s time it was forbidden claping on stage.Nureev brought clapping back on stage in Paris.
