I tried to film some power company workers running power lines and the guy threaten to murder me for filming. I am glad you were able to obtain this video.
A big pad-mounted transformer box outside has been slowly leaking some sort of oil for months. The soil became soggy and killed grass around it. Called Pepco (electricity company), the first time they said they will replace it but nothing happened after 3 months. Called again this morning, a customer service lady told me that it is my responsibility to fix it. I was concerned because there is a huge warning sign on the box saying high voltage and danger and the box is locked. To my shock, the lady told me to break the lock and fix the issue myself. I expressed my concern over the safety and she told me to high an electrian. Google search brought me to this video. It seems that it should NOT be my responsibility to fix the leaking transformer. Would you mind telling me whether you contacted the county or the electricity company? Thanks!
Most importantly, do not touch or attempt to open the transformer box! The utility company, Pepco, owns the transformer and is responsible for maintaining it. Call them again and report the leaking oil. Tell them that if they do not address this issue immediately, you will report the hazardous spill to the EPA and to state and local officials. Good luck!
yes! they do so if it rusts on the top, it will make the source go slower due to pieces falling… which also the rust releases carbon dioxide out of the rust which makes more things rust so the source will go slower…
Center Point just replaced one that was blown. Looked like oil drained out. Giant ant Hill inside also. Time to change out was about an hour with 3 men.

Boa noite ,onde você desliga a alta tensão para trocar o transformador?
Longer version is better. In shorter version all cool stuff are cut short.
There is always fast forward +5/10s option ;)
Thanks for your comment! I appreciate your opinion.

Longer version shows how they almost died.

How many homes does this transformer provide power to?
The guy said "three homes have their power back"
Do they need to be replaced if they are severely rusted on top?
yes! they do so if it rusts on the top, it will make the source go slower due to pieces falling… which also the rust releases carbon dioxide out of the rust which makes more things rust so the source will go slower…
Does the city pay for this or does the house resident eat the bill?
its the utility's unit so the utility pays. in some cases the city pays
