Nice example and demo of an Alaskan mill… I made one and use it a lot. I can get a log cut into more easily handles thick planks I can rip with my bandsaw. The home made mill is very inexpensive and works well. Good job.

There are already chainsaw saw mills on the market. One such is called the Alaska Saw Mill.
Running one with a Farmertec G660 and 36 inch bar. Great for planking
Well that is if you want to spend $100 on one or more. That or got some nice wood laying around to make a simple one for no extra money. I prefer saving money where I can.
The Alaskan will be way more sturdy. We used to run them with 72” bar and 2 stihl 090 on both sides.

@@dukester5932 it's called beginners level. Sturdy is objective but idea is what counts here. If you want to go pro 100 percent yes buy something you can be sure of. However to simply dismiss on grounds that there is better means nothing to those on a budget. Pros and cons to everything.

Изобрёл велосипед😂. В СССР в леспромхозах так готовили в тайге доски для строительства жилых бараков, дабы не завозить доски из посёлка. Бензопила "урал" и пятиметровая "лестница" из полсотой трубы. Только цепи специальные нужны, для продольного пиления.

This is an old idea. It's called an Alaskan mill. I've had one made of aluminum for years. They come in many different sizes.

Bonjour, il existe des machines vendues sur les marchés professionnels, sur UA-cam on voit un américain construire une table avec du bois pétrifié avec une machine du commerce qui s'adapte à une tronçonneuse. Là je suis admiratif de voir ce monsieur construire lui-même une semblable machine avec peu de tasseaux et des tiges filetées etc..

It is patented. It's an Alaskan chainsaw mill and been in use as long as chainsaws been around. They make all kinds of mills to attach to your saw without drilling holes through the bar, the one thing bar manufacturers tell you not to do. Why drill holes in a $150 42" bar when they make mills that clamp on?
You do know their is a "skip tooth" chain for the saw right?

Great idea for chainsaw mill. Only problem are the nuts on the chainsaw bar would not be able to go through the slab. Maybe a long carriage bolt would be smaller and not interfere. Regardless, great idea and definitely something I’d do. Keep up the great work!

Einstein did not work on the A bomb, his E=MC2 simply showed a nuclear chain reaction was possible, I worked at NASA in the 60s building a space simulator and many of my fellow engineers had worked on the Manhattan project. I like the guide for the chainsaw, nice idea, but can I suggest using Nylock nuts to bolt the chain saw to the frame so they don't come undone due to vibration.

Stover nuts hold much more securely than nylocks.
Why bother when the wooden frame is held together with drywall screws.

I've seen lumber mills do this to very large tree trunks using 6 and 8 foot chain saw bars to cut table tops 4 or 6 inches thick.

At the end of your video it shows a stump, is that how you make a flat board?
That stool would've made a GREAT bird feeder, if you were to put a good roof on it, and some short "sides" on each of the three openings to allow the birds to perch on, and to help keep the birdseed inside of it. Then mount it on a 6" dia. wooden post about 5 ft off the ground. I'd have to put a squirrel barrier on the pole though. I have a couple large rounds for firewood that I might have to try that out on!!!!

Сложно запатентовать. Потом окажется где то уже позже кто то запатентовал. Идеи все лучше использовать самому особенно когда много идей и все тянут на патент. В детстве посылал идеи в разные места, отписки потом появляются публикации.. нет уж патенты пусть оформляют ..
