i love these people. so happy, good neighbors, hard working, i happen to be a beekeeper too, though with modern hives, along the shore of lake michigan in usa. thank you for filming this and best wishes to these good folks.
The most wonderful story, including camerawork and narration, that I have ever enjoyed on the Internet; I was transported to heaven! Somewhat unironically, I have long dreamed of visiting and maybe even living in Trabzon, which I believe is not very far from this beautiful place. With luck, I might meet Mustafa and the incredible beekeepers of Eastern Anatolia.
@@Lukejb2Butterworth That doesn't sound surprising! The central location on a crucial waterway means the Anatolian Peninsula gets every empire in history drooling. You can bet Putin has his eyes on expanding south wherever he can!
One of the more magical beekeeper setting. Great job of the filming, story telling. Highly recommend this. Beautiful. I've worked a bit with the Caucasian bees. Similar to the Carniolans. A bit longer tongue. 7.3mm compared to 6.6-7mm. The Carnis overwinter better and I think can fly in lower lighting. I'm surprised there was no mention of the Laz people's use of propolis. Honey fed bear steaks? Sign me up!
: No disrespect to the beekeeper.🙏 2:50 - The use of smoke will obviously make the bees go calm, hence they wont sting anyone, if disturbed. 3:15 - I'm sorry but it looked like that bee, stung his head. see the bump on that part. 21:00 - " Sue the bear "? - Did he mean hurt it? This is encouraged by everyone in the room... 23:00 - The honey must be harvested, only if the honey filled combs are sealed right? I love the content overall. Its encouraging, to continue beekeeping. 🙌
Might have to get creative with the solar panel placement but it looked like they were getting enough light through at a couple of the sites they showed. In the footage of the bear it looked like there was an electric fence, but it clearly wasn't deterring that particular bear.
Hilarious. Clever editing. Really dislike romanticizing beekeeping. Opening scene the guy talks to his bees saying they'll never sting him. He then proceeded to pick up a few bees by hand and they flew right into his forehead. Next scene, you can see on the forehead where they stung him. Lol
As a beekeeper i can say my hives are very docile and gentle i can pick them up just as he did without any stings a honey bee does not want to sting you because if they do they die
Rhododendrons are so many and so different. In one species, leaves and nectar can be poisonous, while in other species, they can be rather healthy. Pyrenees: R. ferrugineum honey produced exclusively at altitude.
As humans we are truly cut from the same cloth, in South Africa most black people believe bees are angles/ancestors that protect us. its interesting to learn that the Lazes of Turkey believe the same.

Türkiye, kıta özelliği gösteren bir ülke. İçinde birbirinden çok farklı iklimler ve coğrafi alanlar var.
From Southern California: I am proud of Beekeeper Omar teaching his neighbor "ancestral techniques " to keep the bears away from the hives!
Sorry about my mistake: The Beekeeper's name is Mustafa!
I like his little stories & experiences in 🇹🇷 mountains near the Black Sea! ❤ Gule Gule!
This made me cry, it's so pure.
we love you Mustafa
Amazing insight! Would like to try a tree hive someday

By seeing this I remembered the Mostofa of the story Beekeeper of Aleppo which makes me cry really its amazing

I wonder why Wocomo's contents are so overlooked? they definitely deserve a lot more views and subs
$100 a pound! That's pretty sweet!
😊
Bautiful voice
Seems like a hidden kingdom there in the mountains,a long way away from other more unsettled parts of Turkey
@ Just Alex these are cool.
yo. well said

It only takes one strand of cheap visable poly wire and a solar electric fence energizer to deter bears.
Solar panel in a deep forest...? No but it would be nice.
Might have to get creative with the solar panel placement but it looked like they were getting enough light through at a couple of the sites they showed. In the footage of the bear it looked like there was an electric fence, but it clearly wasn't deterring that particular bear.
Bagpipes?!!! Really??? Wasn't expecting that...😮😊
Man we have it easy here. I'm complaining about varroa mites, and this guys gotta climb 20 ft into a tree to work his girls. Nuts.
Oh man yes.
Dude speak of the bear like a genius. He probably never came across Dolphins and Orcas.

@@MrStreetninja007 And yet they still sting.
@MinnesotaBeekeeper not saying he didnt get stung just saying most honey bees are gentle
@@MrStreetninja007 Well put sir.
I think you r never been in Beekeeping see africanized and other agressive bees then you will understand why he says they never sting him
It’s a wonderful place he does independently, if he die one day will continue his honey making venture
It´s so funny that the "bee" in 0:45 is actually a fly
Hoot.
Mustafa a young man of "67"years...young indeed @67😂😂
Is rhododendron honey not poisonous over there? In the USA we have to feed it back to the bees
I feed it to my face, makes me trip balls

Exactly how US army built their nest in philppines to extract their honey

I hate how these documentaries use a commentator with a "cute" earnestly in their voices.
I am seeing that this old man is always working very hard but his son is not so work hard

Laz are Ethnic Georgians
Great video, but honey is just glorified sugar that tastes better
How do the bees liv thru tht harsh mountain winters ?
Winters are rainy but temp. never goes belove +8C and summer times average temp.is +25C
Hamshen, Western Armenia
Nulll
Blueberry in a Turkey forest? And Rhodendron in honey stasting good? I mean its cool, but no way the guy said that.
Pyrenees: R. ferrugineum honey produced exclusively at altitude. Odor: weak woody and floral-fresh fruit.
Not all Rhododendron honey is created equal. Quite a few are perfectly fine and non-toxic.

If bears can learn tht gunshots mean food im prtty sure they’ll get over the noise the water weight thing makes ! Imo
Build concrete hives that bears cannot break and eat the honey
What a noble idea,
Should awarded with Nobel price 😂
Go ahead and try to lift concrete honey supers lol. No.
I think an electric fence would be a better option. Just need a car battery and a small solar panel.
I'm sorry but all wildlife need access to food.
Yes thats why there not harming the bear use your logic
Dudes... subtitles. Subtitles are your friend. These terrible, stilted, language-tape voiceovers are abominable. Great subject matter, however.
