I rang here yesterday and I think you have done brilliantly to capture these on video. They are so unbalanced in the ringing room and very hard to hear but you can’t tell that at all here! Goes to show what superb ringing this is too!
Thankyou, it's the first time I have heard all the 12 rang in a quality manner, and what a lovely peal they are They sound really amazing considering they are a mixed bag of new and old. I prefer listening to method ringing especially if done really well, ithink I like the fact that every change is different, but the Devon boys and girls really know how to strike and I always love them being raised Always feel a bit sorry for the tenor rope of a heavy bell when they have 4 big geezers on the end with serious pulling power . Yes they busted a rope once.
I they. Sound great and this is the first time I have heard them rung well Would love to see the Birmingham band ring them to some Stedman Cinques or some Surprise Maximus.
Nice to finally have a video of these on UA-cam, cheers Scott! One I still need to ring at, sometime. Cracking ringing, as one would expect of course 🙂
I can't wait for you to go and ring there. I would love to hear then rang properly which the Devon ringers just did but would love to hear some Stedman Cinques with good striking Also Crewkene could do with some good ringing if your down that way.
May I ask (excuse my cluelessness XD) but what are the first 2 words of the video? I always hear that phrase, but I can never make out what the person is actually saying. It sounds like "Look Back!!!" but if it isn't (or even if it is), what on Earth does it mean??
Oh you got Yeovil oh I thought you only got Sherborne Abbey on there I think there next tower is Queen Camel and Wrington or Bath Abbey. Wrington there heavy thats a 10 bell tower 36cwt in Db similar to Queen Camel tenor there a Lovely 10 but not better than Evercreech 10 bells there much lighter that's 21cwt in Eb but I do love Wrington bells they look nice there a Lovely mixture of bells in Somerset but I don't think there not going to ring there might be Evercreech or Bath after Queen Camel. Yeovil are also now a good mixture of bells used to had 10 bells until 2013. the 10th bell is 17cwt in E and 11th is 24cwt in D
the bells are cast by whitechapel william bilbie thomas pennington thomas purdue mears and stainbank tenor 40-0-23cwts the bells are hung on 3 levels the trebles are cast in 2013 as well as the extra and the flat 6th the 2nd frame in 2014
@@sdgwebb do I always have to qoute dove 🤔 really don't know what that qoute means Simon I just tell the people what the weights are but i can't remember that well of the weights on front bells and tenor bells
Beautiful rich sound from those bells

Ah finally all 12 !
Super bells and ringing!
Brilliant to finally have a video of the twelve!
Did you see Jane’s email about mine and Frans outing?
@@harrybellringer Yes I did. I'll be coming :)
@@DylanSmith_15 Great!
@@harrybellringer Should be brilliant day out! Can't wait to ring at Hull!
@@DylanSmith_15 Agreed. They are superb. Generally all good towers tho

I rang there last year, but only on 8 bells: ua-cam.com/video/soswxA1DGTo/v-deo.html
The bells here kind of sound like a mix of the 12 at buckfast abbey and the 8 at St Thomas salisbury
Heard quite a lot of negative comments about these, but from the video it's not at all clear why! A lovely sound with some character too. Cracking!
As I ring in Dorset I’ve heard it’s more how they’re hung than the sound. Apparently they’re extremely tough for a modern job
Will you upload queen camel and south petherton or not because you filmed them before would be nice to see them again

I think you'll find it's "Look Out", which means that the conductor is happy with the pace, and is about to start calling the changes.
@@martinhough7956 Ooh interesting, very inventive but makes perfect sense!
