Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I have a question, if we have issues testing API , where do we log and track the issues related to API testing?
you mean where to raise the bugs found in testing, that will be as per the project, teams use tools like jira or other bug tracking tools for this
@@RaghavPal Thanks for your quick response. So we can use Jira for API related issues as well. Thanks again.
Yes

Thanks
Most welcome
Sir which snippets we need to use for post and get methods, is there any clear video which describes about these snippets?
use POST for creating a resource, GET for reading, Can check my API basics videos here - automationstepbystep.com/
Can you please tell me what interview questions being asked on postman tools while testing APIs
General Ques will be
1. Features of Postman
2. Why to use Postman over other tools
3. Project structure
3. API Chaining
4. Testing & Assertions
5. Command line runs (newman)
6. CI CD integrations
7. Basic API ques
Never heard of any case where job candidate was asked directly about how to test API in Postman. If you experience this I'd recommend to look for job somewhere else. As usually one want to know how candidate can think about problem is able to do a breakdown and choose right approach to test it. Testing how candidate can use tool is waste of time and potential for both sides. It's like instead of giving algorithmic question the hi ing interview would be asking how well you can work in Visual Studio. Learning the tool is matter of few weeks maximum but learning the thinking is matter of years. I could understand it only in case of hight paced startups in early phase but only as advanced questions if candidate successfully answered all knowledge and thinking questions.
What about logging in with Google account? I did that and didn’t get any email verification. Also what does these response mean. Is it telling that the website is interacting with the server?
Can check in your updates or spam folder
noauth is not displaying for me can you please let me know how i have to select
Srujana
Let's troubleshoot this together. Here are a few steps you can follow:
1. OAuth 2.0 Authentication:
- If you're using OAuth 2.0 for authentication, make sure you've configured it correctly in your Postman request. You'll need to provide the necessary details such as client ID, client secret, and authorization URL.
- If authentication fails or times out, Postman will display an error message. You can check the error details in the Postman Console, retry the authentication, or edit your auth details before continuing
2. Bearer Token Authentication:
- For APIs that use bearer token authentication, follow these steps:
- Get the login API endpoint (e.g., `localhost:8888/myapp/server/api/v1/login`).
- Create a POST request to the login API in Postman.
- In the request body, provide your email and password.
- Run the request and copy the access token from the response.
- In your API request, select the Authorization tab, choose "Bearer Token" as the type, and paste the access token.
- Set the `Accept` and `Content-Type` headers to `application/json`.
- Once you get it working, consider using variables to avoid repeating these steps for each new API call
3. Troubleshooting Stuck Load Screen:
- If Postman is stuck on the load screen, try disabling hardware acceleration from your GPU software or run the following command in your command line: `setx POSTMAN_DISABLE_GPU "true" /m’
4. Blank Screen When Requesting New Access Token:
- If you encounter a blank screen when requesting a new access token, try running the desktop app in Administrator mode
Remember to adapt these steps based on your specific authentication method and API requirements
Why is he recording his videos at 5 in the morning haha
Nice Video
Thanks for watching Mattia. Have to go for work after this
there is no option or tab named as test?
ok, I will check, may be some changes in new version
share details about status code and Auth without details i don't know how people understand the terms
ok, i will take care of this.. thanks for the feedback Anushree
Just be aware that using account your stored collections, data, secrets (if saved) will be stored in postman cloud so you potentially compromising your company or your clients in case of any breach of postman' infrastructure or corporate espionage.
This aggressive tactic of postman to force use accounts is really bad.
I understand why Postman made this decision. They want to make it easier for users to collaborate and share their work. However, I think they should have given users the option to use Postman without creating an account. This would have given users more control over their data and security.
@@RaghavPal I'm higly doubfull about this. If it was about users "well-being" they coul keep it and introduce collaborative functions (which they did for some extended time already). But they remove it completely to force users to use cloud functions. IMO real reason is that when in cloud it is much easier to force users to convert to be paying which their pricing is also quite significant amounts.
If you're local they cannot force you to pay as they dont own your data. But if you're in cloud you're basically "a hostage" coz when you don't pay subscription you can easily loose data. If not implemented yet it might be soon (and I worked for corporate and experienced this).
May be you can send your message across Postman support group and community
@@RaghavPal already done
@@RaghavPal are we going to learn cloud usage of/in postman in this tutorial?
Thank you
You're welcome Praveen
